I always had trouble understanding how the Battlestars; Vipers and Raiders all had rocket based propulsion but the Basestars didn't. It didn't change the fact that they were cool ships. |

The only trouble I had with this one is putting the two hulls together. But, one done it basically built itself. I did end up losing one of the hanger bridges, so I cast another in polyurethane, I fixed it into place then found the original piece. So much for cloned technology. |

I used Tamiya medium grey to paint this one ( as I did with all of the Galactica line). It just seemed to suit them. I gave the whole model two coats, then I painted the hull with a light black wash. I then resprayed with one coat of medium grey. |

There wasn't much to detail on this kit model. Basically, I just painted the forty hull strips flat white and that was all she wrote. |
The only thing ( other than the ease of this kit) was the pathetic stand for the Basestar. It's quite flimsy ( mines broken three times in different places). I'm going to build a new one using a concrete base. |
