The mighty Battlestar Galactica carried the hopes and dreams of what was left of the Twelve colonies through the stars. This was the first of the line that I bought and built. |

Some of the pieces of this kit were hard to place together. In particular the skirting around the head of the ship. But, all in all this kit was fun to build. |

I used Tamiya medium grey to paint this one ( as I did with all of the Galactica line). It just seemed to suit them. I gave the whole model two coats, then I painted the hull lines with a black wash. I then resprayed with one coat of medium grey. |

For the detailing I used mainly flat black. I placed all of the orange decals on the kit, but over time most had deteriorated beyond repair. I scratched them all back and hand painted them. |
The only thing was the pathetic stand for the Battlestar, like the Cylon Basestar. I ended up trashing the connecting piece and used an outcasing for a BIC pen. It worked well. |
