Capain Grasmick was born in 2 January, 2341. Early in his life, he showed interest in joining Starfleet because of stories he heard from his father who was an enlisted man in the Starfleet Reserve. Grasmick also enjoyed building models of starships, impulse gliding, and flying the shuttlecraft that the family owned.
Grasmick was an average student in school, until he entered the Academy. He excelled there in most courses, specificly courses in Engieering and Command. He also graduated in the top 5 of his class.
Upon Grasmick's graduation from the Academy, he was assigned to the USS Valley Forge (NCC-43305) as a helmsmen. He was promoted to Lieutenant j.g. for actions in resqueing the Valley Forge's captain (Marcus Thompson) in a shuttle accident. Grasmick was later promoted to full Lieutenant and assigned to the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) as an engineer. This transfer was at Captain Thompson's urging, saying that Grasmick deserved to serve on the best ship in the fleet. Grasmick's trasfer to the Enterprise occured about one month prior to the discovery of the Free Borg society. When most of the crew was beamed down to a planet to search for Lt. Commander Data, Grasmick was left in charge of Engineering.
Following the destruction of the Enterprise at Veridian III, Grasmick was promoted to Lt. Commander and assigned to the USS Endeavor (NCC-71805) as the Chief Engineer. This assignment lasted until 2373 when the Endeavor was nearly destroyed during the Borg incursion. He was then promoted to full Commander and assigned to the USS Galaxy (NCC-70637) as first officer. This assignment was short lived, as Grasmick was assigned to the San Francisco Fleetyards as Commanding Officer.
While at the Fleetyards, Grasmick concurrently served as the chief designer of the forthcomming Nebraska-class starships. Grasmick was promoted to the rank of Captain on his 34th birthday in 2375. In November of that same year, Grasmick accepeted posting to the USS Sovereign (NX-74222). The Sovereign was scheduled to have its registry upgraded from NX to NCC, but NX was kept at Grasmick's request. Grasmick did consent to the changing from NX to NCC at a later date.
Grasmick has been well liked by his officers and crew, and has been instrumental in defeating Dominion forces in the many combat situations that the Sovereign has been in. Grasmick also owns a civillian version of the Danube-class runabout, the S.S. Gary (NC774438) as well as the shuttlecraft that as been in the family that he inherited from his father.
