Somewhere on the fringe of the Aeoldhearte forest... Finnath sat astride her horse, Destrier, and gazed down at the at rolling grasslands that marked the start of the Ammensi Plains. Her eyes skillfully tracked a single black dot in the distance and she laughed evilly. "Any minute now," she told her horse, and give him a fond pat on his neck. The black dot moved closer. Destrier stamped one hoof impatiently. Finnath sat and chortled. Finally, the black dot was within range. Finnath whooped at the top of her lungs, and gave the horse a swift kick to the side. Destrier leaped forward, seeming to fly as his hooves thundered across the plains. The black dot froze at the sounds of human and horse. For a moment, it sat in total stupefication, than rolled away, picking up speed as it flattened a path in the grass. As the chase wore on, it seemed as though the black dot would out-roll the massive charger. But, slowly, the horse and his rider gained on the dot. Abrubtly, the dot stopped. Destrier whinnied and leapt to one side, narrowly missing the big dot. Finnath regained control of her horse, and guided it to a stop near the dot. Dismounting, she stalked up to the big black dot, and gave it a swift kick. "HEY!" A single yellow eye opened in the otherwise dark bulk. "I'm sorry, Mistress Finnath, but I can't let you in. Doctor's orders." "You're doctor's a nutcase and he knows it. I want what I came for." The eye sighed. "A moment please." It closed. Finnath paced impatiently in front of the dot. Eventually the eye opened again, and was followed by something resembling an arm, which extended out towards her. "I believe this is what you came for?" It opened its hand, revealing a small mirror in an intracitly carved frame. Finnath snatched it away and held the mirror up to her face. She let out a low growl and handed it back. "That stupid wolf lied to me! I don't have anything stuck in my teeth!" She stalked back over to where Destrier stood. "I'm gonna turn that flea-bitten dog into a rug!" The eye watched as the Bard Wannabe rode away and sighed before rolling off.
