| Background | After the Earth-Romulan war, The Romulan
Empire was invaded by a previously unknown species. The Romulans were able,
after three long years, to drive them to their homeworld Abnissicour. This
species called themselves the Courites. The Romulans learned much about their
culture during their seven year occupation of Abnissicour. Courite society is class based with seven different classes: Master, Priest, Warrior, Intendant, Artisan, and the most populous; Worker. When a Courite is born it is taken to a priest who then does a genetical analysis to see which class it would be most productive in. The strongest become warriors, the dumbest become workers, the smartest become intendants, the most talented become artisans,and the preists are born into their class. The Master class has one member: Supreme Overlord. The Supreme Overlord is chosen by the Guar Council. The Guar Council consists of twelve members of the most gifted of society. Guarive are chosen at birth once the priests have designated them so. The council's only power is placement and removal of the Supreme Overlord, and also sometimes advise him. Priests are born into their class and trained from their youth to analyze the babies that are brought to them. Once the class of the baby is determined by the priest(s), the child is then sent to an artisan. Artisans genetically manipulate the child into the class it has been designated to. They also clone the workers so there are many of them. Warriors do all of the fighting for society. The Supreme Overlord gives orders to the three Warlords who in turn order the Warmasters who are over the Captains who are above the Sub-alterns who are over ordinary warriors, promotion is only by merit. The intendents are the provincial administrators, bureucrats, ambassadors etc. An intendent is in control of a world or moon and is advised by a council. Councillors are numbered by population and are headed by a chancellor. Each chancellor is a part of the senate which advises the Supreme Overlord. The Chancellory is headed by a Supreme Chancellor. Appointment to high positions are given by the Supreme Overlord and all appointments to the lower positions are granted by whoever is head of that area. All ambassadors are women, and only the most beautiful women may become an ambassador. Ambassador is the only job a woman may hold other than that of priestess. Natural-born Workers are rare because 80% of all Courites are born intelligent. The only reason there are so many workers is because of cloning. Workers are strong, resilient, loyal and very, very dumb. Intendants oversee the workers. |
| Editors Notes | Abnissicour is a beautiful world with lush green forests,
rolling prairies and comfortable climate. Typical Courite dress consists of a
long flowing robe. All Courites look exactly like humans. The only difference is
that Courites have absolutley no body hair and their skin is yellow to dark
green. Women are regarded highly in society and therefore are not allowed to hold
many positions for fear that they could be injured in some way. The Supreme
Overlord is guarded by 2,000 clones of himself who, if the Supreme Overlord
dies, kill themselves in an act of loyalty to him. The Romulans were scared away from the planet when several high-ranking officers disappeared only to be found with there insides removed and the bodies filled with some type of gel and placed as trophies in the Supreme Overlord's palace. It is believed that the Guarive were behind these acts. Since the Romulans left the system they had no contact with the Courites until one of ther ships was destroyed by a Courite battleship two years ago. No other contact has been made but there is fear within the Senate that they are returning... |
