Background |
Long thought to be a legend, Aldea was
believed to be
a peaceful, advanced world. They used a Planetary Cloaking Device
to hide their existance from intruders resulting in sterility of the
population.
In 2364 they attempted to kidnap several children from the Enterprise-D
in an attempt to perpetuate their society. After the attempt
failed,
The Enterprise helped the Aldeans dissasemble the cloaking device to
allow
the ozone layer to reform. |
Editors Notes |
They are highly advanced in the arts and
sciences.
The planet has extensive weather-control networks so virtually every
region
of the planet enjoys a mild temperature. Buildings are created to
blend in with natural surroundings as though they were part of
nature.
The Aldeans have suffered severe genetic damage from ozone depletion
resulting
from their planetary cloaking device, and are virtually sterile.
The future of the Aldean race is in serious doubt, but UFP physicians
and
scientists have been lending assistance since the cloaking device was
disabled.
For now the Aldeans have remained independant, but it is considered to
be a UFP protectorate until they decide whether to remain neutral, or
join
the Federation. |
