First contacted by the Federation in 2364,
the Brekkians
kept it's sister-world Ornara addicted to the 'medicine' Felecium to
fight
an ongoing plague on that planet. The Brekkian economy had become
solely
reliant on the production of Felecium, and the Ornarian culture fell
into
a deep depression. Technology for both cultures became nearly
stagnant. |

When the Enterprise responded to a distress
call in the
Delos system they revealed the addiction to the Ornarians and helped
them
start to overcome it. In time the Ornarians and Brekkians should
become
allied with the Federation.
