| Background | First contact with the Talosians by the Captain of the USS Enterprise, Christopher Pike. The Enterprise respond to a distress call on Talos IV, where they found the crew of the USS Columbia which had crashed on the planet. The colonists were all aging male scientists, with the exception of one 18 year old female who was born around the time they crashed. Second contact takes place 31 years after the USS Columbia crashed, (13 years after the first visit.) |
| Editors Notes | Talos IV has not been completely explored and Star Fleet has deemed the results of the contact with the inhabitants of this planet as classified. The Talosians have strange powers, and are able to create illusions. They are a dying race. They have started a "zoo" where they collect various races to study in an attempt to locate a race able to succeed them after their extinction. |
