Spiders. Huge spiders. Hundreds of spiders everywhere, closing in on the small patch of
floor where he stood.  Two spiders, reaching the tips of his shoes, each slowly lifting a
hairy leg and placing it on a leather toe...

"Scully!" His voice echoed in the vacant warehouse. "Scullleeeee!"

What had the woman whispered before she disappeared out the far doorway? A harsh
whisper.  "This is all of your own making. You don’t really want to know."  Was it? 
Didn’t he?

He closed his eyes, trying to ignore the tickling of dozens of legs making their way onto
his socks, under his pants legs.  <Another thought, another picture> he pleaded with himself.

Smooth skin, a wry smile, twinkling eyes, copper cap of silky hair.

He opened his eyes, sank to the empty concrete in relief.  Heard the click of heels and a
voice to go with the picture.

"Mulder? Where’ve you been? Where’s your mother?"
