When the body washed up on the beach, they couldn't believe it.  Mulder said the person
saw the light and swam but Scully discounted his theory right away, like she always did.

Skinner and Krycek hauled the body up to the lighthouse and they washed the sand off. 
They discovered it was male right away.  When they washed the face and the soft, curly hair,
they realized it was Spender.

Everyone was in shock.  Krycek refused to touch him.  Skinner cuffed Spender to the bed
for a change;  Scully watched Mulder getting excited over it.

In the end, Spender came to and everyone believed him when he proclaimed his innocence. 
Mulder was especially fascinated with the story as to how Spender ended up in the sewer
and made his way to sea.  Mulder asked about the flukeman, but Spender denied all
knowledge, which made Mulder suspicious again because he knew the fluke was out there.
