Augmented Humans

Just a few years before the coming of the Rifts humanity began furiously researching ways to improve the performance of the human body, with remarkable success. Some of these technologies have been rediscovered, and unlike their ancestors, the natives of Rifts Earth have few qualms about how humane these procedures are.

Bio-Chemical 'Juicer' Augmentation (+360 points)
One of the most common forms of human augmentation, bio-chemical enhancement uses a system of cybernetic implants to monitor the subjects body in incredible detail, and then injects calculated doses of drugs to enhance performance. The average life expectancy of a Juicer is about five years due to chemical side-effects, but during those five years the Juicer is literally superhuman.
Advantages: +8 DX, +5 ST, +2 HT, regular regeneration, altered time rate +2, super-running x 2, super-jumping
Disadvantages: Social stigma (outcast), dependancy (chemicals), accelerated agin x 8

M.O.M. 'Crazie' Augmentation (+250 points)
An acronym for Mind Over Matter, MOM implants are cybernetic devices placed in the brain. They rewire the subjects nervous system and brain to enhance performance. In addition the process seems to draw out at least minor levels of psionic power in all subjects. However subjects of MOM implantation grow increasingly insane with time (hence the nickname Crazies) and will almost certainly die within ten or twenty years from brain tumours.
Advantages: +2 HT, +3 ST, +3 DX, +5 fatigue, reduced sleep, super-running, super-jumping, altered time rate +1, telescopic vision 5, discriminatory smell, sensitive touch, strong will +5, slow regeneration, regenerative trance, ESP 5, telekinesis 3
Disadvantages:Any delusions/phobias or other GM approved mental disadvantages totaling -60 points, accelerated aging x 5

Partial Bonic Conversion
A partial conversion borg is roughly half human, half machine. While not as powerful as a full-conversion borg, a partial conversion is also not as traumatic for the subject. Create partial conversion Borgs using the cyberware rules from Ultra-Tech or Cyberpunk.

Full Bionic Conversion
A full conversion borg is virtually all machine, with only the brain, some internal organs, and perhaps parts of the face still human. Treat this type of borg as a robot with a cyborg brain, as described in Robots. Sample Military Borgs and Slave Borgs are described in the monsters section, and these can be used as templates.
