OPERATIONS: The Director of Operations is a senior Captain, starship command qualified, and is the primary advisor to the flag officers in the command group. He or she has three primary deputies, all Commanders, all command qualified, in three sections (a) Operations & Taskings (b) Training (c) planning and (d) manpower (including recruiting). The commander of the Operations division is also part of the SSD Chain-of-Command. In addition, the Operations division also directs and deploys the SSD fleet, made up of two squadrons.
