Shusuke Kaneko, who directed the first two movies (I'll post an article soon), has said that this will probably be his last Gamera film. The third will be part of a preplanned continuity developed in the previous two Gamera movies.
Gamera 3 will supposedly place a greater focus on the history of Gamera himself, and the main theme of the movie will relate to the last moments of Gamera 2, in which it is hinted that Gamera my turn against humankind if it continues to abuse the Earth.
These are all the details I currently know of. Any further information or rumours would be greatly appreciated!
