for our spanish project, we created a video. it was about ordering food in spanish, and we strangely (and successfully) incorporated a dog puppet who humped things into it. it was some of my best work and even ended in a lovely musical tribute to the dog.
it was turned in on friday, but we ran out of time, and the showing would have to wait until monday...or so we thought...
the spanish teacher had to leave 6th period, and had a substitute. the substitute decided to take the video, which was not her's, and play it in the vcr. i heard the class loved it. apparently, the substitute did not, as she opened her big mouth to the administration. obviously the administration did not like it very much either. hell, they'd be offended by...pencils that were too short. anyway, when the regular teacher (who had not seen the video yet) got back, he was approached by the administration, who told him about the video with "offensive acts of sexual conduct and obscene gestures." needless to say, we couldn't show the video anymore, and it was returned to us to avoid further doodie.
i didn't have idiot substitutes in mind when making this video. the video was 15 minutes. the "offensive acts of sexual conduct and obscene gestures" began from the very beginning. yet, she decided to continue, and finish the entire video, as students reported. if she really didn't like it, she could've just stopped it, and left a note for the teacher. but nooooo, she had to watch the entire thing. i don't know about you, but when i see something vulgar and offensive, such as aaron carter in concert, i stop watching it. this substitute just doesn't seem to understand that concept...or the concept respecting the property of others. because of this, our own class, which had been anticipating the video, didn't get to see it.
since then, a re-edited version of the video was made, where almost all scenes with perro the dog were cut out. however, footage of perro the dog addressing the controversy was added to the end.
