About Ra
Ra is named after the Egyptian Sun God, Ra, who was said to take cat form himself. In fact, in ancient Egypt, when there was a solar eclipse it was thought that the serpent had climbed the tree of life to fight the great sun god. During such times all the housecats were sent up to the roofs to help Ra fight the serpent.
