Remember back to the happiest moments in your family's history. Chances are many of them happened in the kitchen.
There's just something about warm conversation over a warm meal. Some of the most memorable moments in the Bible took place over dinner. Take for instance Abram and Sarai who were preparing a real feast for their guests (angels working in cognito) when God's messengers told them they were going to have a son despite their elderly state.
Or how about the detail that God used to plan the passover meal?
Heard about Zaccheus? He was really curious to see Jesus; so curious he even climbed a tree. When Jesus spotted him, he called Zaccheus by name and invited himself over for dinner.
Why? Is God really fond of food? Well, maybe... But I prefer to believe He's more interested in a little bit of intimate conversation than a hot plate of food.
