Week of: Dec. 21st, 1998
Sunday, Dec. 27th:
TRU east in Madison received the MM Coin C-3PO and Emperor this morning. If you still need these, I would get them soon.
There are plenty of good deals to be had with clearance items.
Wal-Mart has figures at $2, Speederbikes at $7, Epic Force figures at $8, Complete Galaxy figures at $8 (I think), Falcon Cases at $15, Bantha & Rancor at $20, 14" Vader at $25, FX X-Wing at $25 (a great deal), Falcon at $35. The only thing they don't have on clearance is the 12" figures.
Target has Deluxe Figures at $4.70, Falcon cases at $11.90, Lightsabers at $11.90. There were others, but I can't remember. Aaron reports that Target will NOT be putting the 12" exclusive figures on clearance until at least April 30th.
Shopko has 14" Vader at $19.99. This is probably the cheapest that you can actually find this at. I've heard that Target had them for less, but I have never seen it.
For Christmas I got the Hallmark Boba Fett ornament, the Hardware Wars SE video, and a T-shirt (actually on backorder and I haven't gotten yet).
Thursday, Dec. 24th:
Wal-Mart west in Madison had more of the Cantina 3d Dioramas this morning.
K-Mart east and south in Madison had some of the Classic 8 figures this morning. Thanks to Dave P. for the tip.
It's now time to look for clearance priced items. Target had Darth Vader Tie Fighters marked down to $11.90 and Deluxe figures at $4.70. It seems that most stores have 14" Vader at $30, but I read that KB has it at $20.
I will be out of town for a couple of days, so I will not be updating until Sunday at the earliest. In the mean time, I would like to hear what you got for Christmas and what great buys you might have found clearance shopping.
Tuesday, Dec. 22nd:
I can now confirm that KB west in Madison received one case of the 12" electronic Boba Fett yesterday as well. At least this puts an end to the rumor that they were not getting any of these.
Wal-Mart west in Madison had some of the Classic 8 figures at 5:00pm tonight. These are really starting to hit and will soon warm the pegs. I don't think there will be another assortment until February meaning that we will see plenty more of these.
Software Etc. in Madison also had the Classic 8 figures, but they had them packaged with an older figure. In other words, to get a Classic Ben you had to also get a Luke Ceremonial.
Monday, Dec. 21st:
KB east in Madison received one case of the 12" electronic Boba Fett today. I was lucky enough to get one of these and I must say that it is a real improvement over the old one. I didn't hear if the west side got these, can someone let me know?
TRU east in Madison had in the Classic 8 figures today. These are starting to warm the shelves a bit since they still had a number of them at 5:00pm. Chris P. informs me that the west side store also had quite a few of these.
