POTJ Figures

Friday, Aug. 18th:

12" Boss Nass Wave

Target west in Madison had these this morning. That's twice now that I have seen them. Odd, since I never saw a 12" Mace Windu at retail.

Mega "Jedi Powers" Darth Maul

Wal-Mart west in Madison had two of these on the shelves this morning.

Thursday, Aug. 17th:

I have been out of town for much of the week, so some news reports are a little old. But on the plus side, there has been stuff happening.

12" Boss Nass Wave

I came across a case of the new 12" Boss Nass wave at the Target in Janesville. This is the first time that I have heard that they were out at normal retail. The case consists of two Boss Nass, 3 Sebulba, and 1 Anakin Pilot. Boss Nass is huge and doesn't fit well into the oversized box that he is in. Plus he weighs a ton. Sebulba is nicely done, but doesn't have as much articulation since his "arms" aren't jointed at the elbows. The Anakin figure has a slightly new face sculpt and comes with a helmet, goggles, and a droid.

Mega "Jedi Powers" Darth Maul

I found these at Wal-Mart east in Madison today. They come 4 to a case (only Darth Maul in the case), they were all in .0100 boxes, and ran $9.96. This is the first of the new 6" figures. The line will also include Obi-Wan Kenobi and a Destroyer Droid. Sorry about the poor picture, I just couldn't get a good one of this figure. The Darth Maul doesn't impress me much; it doesn't have significantly more articulation from the smaller figures, he has that dumb grin that Hasbro likes to use, and just looks "plasticy" to me. The Obi-Wan that I saw at GenCon looked the same way. I hope that the Destroyer Droid is better.

12" Chancellor Valorum & Coruscant Guard

While I was away, this nicely done 12" 2-pack arrived from the fan club. The figures are very nice; the only thing that I would have changed is to make the two top pieces of the Coruscant Guard's helmet out of bristles instead of molded plastic. Also, too bad it wasn't senator Palpatine instead of Valorum.

12" Speeder Bike

Ray H. reports that he found the 12" Speeder Bike at Target west in Madison today. These are still showing up, so keep your eyes open.

Y-Wings

I found two Y-Wings at Target east in Madison today. Ray H. reports finding one at Target west in Madison last Friday and Chris P. reports seeing them at both east and west Targets in Madison on Tuesday. These are definitely out there. If you haven't found them yet, keep looking.

Kay Bee Toys in Madison today had the 12" Slave Leia & R2-D2 with serving tray set for $29.99. They have marked down the Darth Maul Sith Infiltrator (Trophy Assortment) to $4.99. Plus, they still have some of the 12" Return to Naboo Queen Anidala dolls for $14.99.
