It was the Monday before break
The children had tried hard to stay awake
This is the class where they were prepared to sleep
Then something was said that made them want to weep
One child ran in screaming "Test, Test!"
For he had listened in class unlike the rest
"There is no test" the other children sneered
For they thought this child was very odd and weird

In walked the teacher, shaped like a pear
He wobbled to his dest and stood by his chair
"Is there a test over chapter 4?"
"Yes" he said as he guarded the door
They wanted to run they wanted to hide
For the teacher had smashed all of their pride

"No!!" cried the children, their voices filled with woe
for the teacher had not taught all they needed to know
The kids took the test and got quite confused
they felt dirty and cheap and sort of abused

They got the tests back to see that they had failed
the kids began to cry, they wailed and wailed
When their parents saw the grade, they got quite mad
They beat their children, the children were sad
"No Christmas for you!" They said with a disgusting leer
"There will be no Christmas for you this year!"

That is the story of how Mr Jay
Stole Christmas from the children that very day.
