Spider-Man bids farewell to penciler John Byrne... and runs face first into the returning Green Goblin!
With his life in turmoil, Peter Parker has fallen from living in a swanky Fifth Avenue penthouse to existing in the streets. Worse yet, the night sky is filled with the exploding pumpkin bombs and razor bats of the Green Goblin, who was pursuing Liz Allan, CEO of Osborn Industries and Harry Osbornīs ex-wife. But the Goblin was showing lack of experience and Spidey suspected that he was not really his worst foe. They fought and the Green Goblin was obligated to escape, leaving Liz behind. Later, Peter slept in a street alley, and the next morning, when he woke up, his backpack had been stolen. Inside it, the Spider-man's uniform and web-shooters. And as a special treat, this issue features the guest-inks of legendary Spidey artist John Romita Sr.! |

Spidey faced the wrath of the Green Goblin again. Without his costume, he had to wear a piece of cloth like a cloack, in order to hide his secret identity. After a short fight, the Goblin was defeated and Spider-man discovered that he was the guy that Norman Osborn had prepared to substitute him, in order to prove to the world that he was not the Goblin. But the Goblin formula took his price again and the fake Goblin ended up died. The teenager who had stolen Spidey's uniform and web-shooters tried to wear them, but finally he sold them to Jonah Jameson. |
