Moon Gallery
No, the camera wasn't dropped. Rather, this was taken from orbit. Orbit of the moon. It's been a while since mankind has been back here, and I find that quite depressing. Man's future will inevitably involve Space, and the great beyond. Our moon is the second step into our future.
Rather odd, looking at the crescent Earth like this, huh?
Now, here we see our moon getting in the way of our sun, creating a diamond ring corona. Quite pretty, don't you think?
We have always been fascinated with this simple event, but it does show us that although the Sun is necessary for life, we can do without it once in a while. That is for all the dayfolk. Now, nightlife, that's another story altogether.
This just brings night to day.
And here we see some nifty imagination at work, for someone with a great artistic and creative talent doctored these images. Not me, that is for sure. the detail in the image on the right, is still incredible, even with the colors, but you can see where the artists brush ends and the actual surface begins. Look near the equator of the image.
And here we have a great Crescent shot. Again, the detail shown on the surface is breath taking. These shots and more like them can be found by simple searches on the web, or by checking out the links on my sitelink page. Any desire to explore our universe has to include study of our only natural satellite. Just think, it affects our tides...our romances...and our werewolves. We can never ignore it. It may be seemingly absent from the night sky occasionally, but it is still there.
Waiting for us. So give a howl, and sing the praises of Luna, in all her beauty.
