OVERVIEW

After bombarding the area, troops move in to mop up survivors. However, the defenders were prepared for the attack and are laying a trap for the unwary invaders.

SCENARIO SPECIAL RULES

Victory Points are used.

SET-UP

1 Scenery is placed as normal. Players must identify possible points of entry for underground tunnels. Tunnels can have entrances in buildings, ruins, caves or anywhere deemed appropriate. Identify a good spread of candidate entrances over the map and use counters to avoid confusion.

2 The attacker may place troops anywhere at least 6" away from any table edge.

3 The defender goes first and moves troops on on the first turn.

MISSION OBJECTIVE

Use Victory Points to determine a winner.

RESERVES

The defender may bring units into play at the the start of any turn. Label each board edge 1-4 and roll on this chart to determine entry edge:
D6 Entry Edge
1 Roll D6 - on 1-3, enter via board edge 1; on 4-6, enter via board edge 2.
2 Roll D6 - on 1-3, enter via board edge 3; on 4-6, enter via board edge 3.
3+ Tunnels. Pick a board edge for troops to enter by. Any infantry units may enter via tunnels.
One unit may enter per tunnel entry point per turn. Models moving out an entry point within 4" of an enemy model lose D6 models automatically as the hole is considered to be covered by the enemy.

GAME LENGTH

The game lasts 6 turns.

LINE OF RETREAT

Defender units fall back to whatever edge they enter by. Attacker units fall back to the opposite board edge.

Bug Hunt

This mission was inspired by the film 'Starship Troopers'. Read on...

Colonel Reeko strode into the observation blister, closely followed by his adjutants. Situated in the mouth of the thirty-fifth starboard gargoyle, the blister gave an expansive view of the planet's northern hemisphere. The deck vibrated again as the bomb bay discharged another load. Bright flashes rippled over the surface as moments later as the plasma missiles impacted. Reeko spotted the Admiral amongst a group of glassy-eyed servitors. Their mouths barely moved as they reported from various shipsystems in monotone voices.

"Colonel!" the Admiral called, bekoning him. "We have bombed this Tyranid nest to destruction. Ready your men for a drop. Clear out any survivors."

The following Imperial Guard (attacker) and Tyranid (defender) armies were chosen from the army lists in the 40K rule book.
