Reserves, Victory Points, Obstacles, Fortifications, Hidden Set-Up and Preliminary Bombardment special rules are used.

SET-UP

1 Set up the board as normal. Roll D6s to see who gets to choose a board edge. Deployment zones lie 18" appart.

2 The Attacker deploys first.

3 The Defender deploys all troops within the Defender deployment zone and has the option of using any or all of the following rules: Reserves; Obstacles; Fortifications; Hidden Set-Up; Preliminary Bombardment (against the Attacker). Although using Hidden Set-Up may seem pointless at this stage, it really means that the Defender may get a Booby-Trap or Minefield for each unit kept in reserve (p134).

4 Roll D6s to see who goes first.

MISSION OBJECTIVE

Determine a winner using the Victory Points method. The Attacker's victory points are worked out as follows: for units that would normally get him the full value of that unit in victory points, he gets double; for units that would normally get him less than the full value of the unit in victory points, he gets nothing. The Defender's victory points are worked out as normal.

Reserves are not used.

It was a fortunate day when the Imperial Tarot prompted me to visit this forsaken planet. Located in one major town was the beginnings of a Daemonic-worshiping cult. The local gentry had acquired by means unknown a text detailing conjuration by means of sacrifice of the spiritually weak in the presence of psychic individuals. Galvanising the local Ecclesiarchy in a neighbouring town (total executions for impurity: 34), I besieged the town and had it destroyed by means of plague warfare and simple cut-throat methods. All inhabitants of the settlement were eradicated and their bodies incinerated. The town was raised and declared haunted. As a reward for those that acted so diligently in aiding the suppression of the rebellion, their lives were spared. In an attempt to redeem themselves, the Ecclesiarchy organised and paid for the conditioning and institutionalisation that followed. Anyone with any knowledge of the incident, took part in the siege or had any contact with the town in the last ten standard years (some twenty-seven thousand in all) had their tongues removed so they would not speak, and their spinal chords severed that they might not communicate in other ways. Blessed is the Emperor that I may dispense Mercy in his Divine name.
