MISSION SPECIAL RULES

You can use the following special rules in the creation of your own missions. This need not be a complicated problem - giving both players the use of the Flare Support rule in the Night Fight mission gives it an added dimension.

Home Ground
The Home Ground special rule is used to represent armies that are desparately trying to defend or retake their own territory. Models never flee the board and are assumed to automatically pass any last chance Morale tests.

Flare Support
Flare Support is only used in conjunction with the Night Fighting rules and represents off-table flare rounds or arial spot-lights. At the start of the shooting phase, guess the range to any point of the battlefield from any of your models. Place the ordnance template at this point. The template may deviate up to 3D6" in a random direction, but on a hit result on the scatter die, it lands on target. Any unit with at least one model under the template can be seen by any units with line of sight. If the template covers a friendly model, that unit becomes a target for your opponent in his subsequent turn.

Camouflaged Set-Up
This rule represents the use of camouflage/holo-projectors/biochameleonic sprays to hide the disposition of troops. The rule may only be applied to units from the troops section that do not include transport vehicles (Rhinos, Wave Serpents, etc). It may also be used with units that are being led by Independant Characters from other list sections. Instead of placing the models during deployment, place a marker for each unit. The markers cannot be moved during the game and the markers may not be fired at. The player using the markers may choose to replace a marker with any unit at the start of any turn, placing one model where the marker lies. The models must be placed the moment an enemy model comes within 12" of them.
