Beliefs of the Burton Family
Hi, so you want to know about our beliefs? Read on about my (Reese's) experiences.
I was born to a family of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. My grandparents and great grandparents were members of the church. In fact, I am what might be called fourth generation in the church. We attended church weekly as I was growing up, and also attended all of the social activities.
From the ages of 3 through 11, I attended Primary. Primary is a program in the church that teaches the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. When I was 8 years old I was baptised and confirmed a member of the church.
At the age of 12, I started going to the Young Mens program called MIA. MIA is designed to strengthen beliefs of the teenage youth in the church. there are two divisions, one for young men and one for young women. I attended from 12 through 18 years old.
After a year of college I went on a mission to England. I spent 2 years teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people in the northern part of England. While there, I learned about the English people, as they learned about the church I belonged to.
The church is divided into Stakes and the Stakes into Wards.
The Ward and Stake you belong to is determined by geographical location.
We are in the Cumberland Ward in the Indianapolis North Stake.
