After attending the Gymnasium Haganum and getting my M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Leiden University and my Ph.D. in Genetics from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in The Netherlands, I moved to the United States where I have been working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Center For Engineering Plants for Resistance Against Pathogens (CEPRAP) at the University of California Davis for 4 years. In Spring 1999 I have given my life and career a full turn around; I went back to The Netherlands and am presently working at a big international IT / consulting company, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.
