Background:He then went to Starfleet in Athens Greece to study Spaceship equipment and Terran Mythology. He graduated at the age of 24 and served on the USS Crazyhorse as an ensign grade Operations Officer.
The Crazyhorse was a small ship and Tanos soon rose in rank to Assistant Chief Operations Officer and a promotion to Lieutenant junior grade. Tanos was pleased with his promotion and served the Crazyhorse well for many years. The Chief Operations Officer, who also was a Vulcan became a mentor for Tanos.
When Tanos heard of the newly commissioned USS Excelsior-A and the open position of Chief of Operations, he went to his mentor, Lt. Cmdr. Kuvot, the Chief Operations Officer on the Crazyhorse. Kuvot contacted Captain Walsh on the Excelsior and recommended Tanos for this position. With the recommendation Captain Walsh received on Tanos, not only from Kuvot but from other officers, the Captain had no other choice but to grant Lt. jg Tanos the position.
Lt. jg Tanos left the Crazyhorse and arrived at Starbase 001 to start his new career as Chief Operations Officer aboard the USS Excelsior.
