Odds and Ends

(Feb. 28th) Just a few cast sightings. Bruce Boxleitner was in a horrible, cheesy looking plane "disaster" movie with Jacqueline Smith, last week I believe. I don't remember the title but I turned it off after 10 minutes. Part of the reason was he was sporting that horrible Caesar/crewcut/weedwacker hairdo. (vomit) The other was the FX ( if you can call it that) were horrendous. My old Atari system had better graphics than that.

The other sighting was Wayne Alexander in The X-Files last night. He was the agent at the meeting who was droning on and on at the presentation. Not a big part but I was amused. Stupid episode though. I hate those frigging time loop stories. They're never original and everybody and their mother, from Star Trek to Xena, has done one. The writers must have been vacationing.

(Nov. 20th) As Sheridan's grandfather used to say.....Cool, cool, cool! I was watching CNN and last thing up on their entertainment news they did about a five minute segment on Bab 5's end. Talked to Joe a little bit and showed some behind the scenes stuff from "Objects At Rest". My favorite was showing the gang lining up in CNC ( the salute to Sheridan and Delenn out the window) in their T-shirts and crap clothes to set up the lighting. I got a kick out of that. : )

(Nov. 18th) ACK! I was flipping channels late the other night and saw Bill Mumy's face. He was on the latest episode of DS9!! Yegads, the traitor!! :> Oh,okay, you know I'm kidding, (sorta), but it was a darned big shot to the ticker. And yes, I did watch the last fifteen minutes just to see him. He's CUTE btw. I dunno anything about Ds9's schedule but I'm sure it'll be either rerun on your station or maybe it hasn't aired yet by you. Look for it. (I can't beleive I said that) And a quick note before I get yelled at : I don't hate Ds9, I've seen a few eps that were okay, but I don't enjoy it on the whole. Is that okay with you????? Hehe!

(Nov. 17th) Borrowing from T.V. Guide again don't miss page 10 of this week's issue "Bye, Bye to Babylon 5". It's okay.....nice pictures, I think it deserved more, but a mention is a mention and therefore nothing to sneeze at.

(Oct. 22nd) Just pointing out info from the Oct. 24th TV Guide. On the 29th...an episode of "Diagnosis Murder" spoofing the X-Files will be featuring B5'ers Walter Koenig and Bill Mumy, along with Koenig's fellow Trekmates George Takei, Majel Barrett Roddenberry, Grace Lee Whitney, and former TNG cast member Wil Wheaton. Should be ...um.....interesting, to say the least. Gotta be worth tuning in for a looksy anyway.

Also, on page 148, the first of Babylon's "final five" ("The Fall of Centauri Prime", airing the 28th) was chosen as an Editor's Choice close up. Check it out.

(Oct. 2nd) Here's a posting from JMS regarding the series finale "Sleeping in Light":

I was watching "Sleeping in Light" again today (I have a tendency to run the last ten minutes plus the credits over and over...to see if it'll stop getting to me, and so far it hasn't), and had some thoughts on it for folks out there.

People often ask if there's anything they can do in return for B5, something I'd like and I do have some ideas, here at the end, regarding SiL.

I think it would be a wonderful thing if more folks than usual got together for viewing parties on this one. Not newcomers, not folks who haven't seen the show, just the "family," if you will. If B5 has helped to create communities, then I think this last episode should be for that community.

I also think you'll find some interesting tie-offs in this show...something about Minbari beliefs about souls born in the hearts of suns, and a pay-off to why the narrations of this series have always been in the past tense, and a gift to the crew of this show...to which end I *strongly* suggest that even if you don't normally tape this series, that you do tape *this* episode so you can go back and check some stuff at the end.

"Sleeping in Light" airs in just a little over two months, and every time I look at it, it has the sense of something very special coming to its conclusion. It's so damned hard watching it...and yet there's something about it that is massively uplifting at the same time.

Anyway, I was just thinking that often viewing parties are used to bring in new folks to B5, but this one, I think, should be for the family. Maybe local fan groups want to get together, find someone with a good-sized TV, and watch. It's one of those Moments, I think, that will be remembered a long time thereafter.

And I've got TNT's promise not to run a voice-over or squish the credits at the end.

(Sept. 17th) Just a note for those interested....if you want to be spoiled and can't wait til Oct. 28th to find out what happens on B5...the Spoiler Junkies Page has very detailed spoilers on the "final five" in their Synopses section.
It tells EVERYTHING..so if you don't wanna know...consider yourself warned. I of course went and it was fabulous. I don't feel spoiled..It just made me more eager to actually see them. Can't wait!

(Sept. 25th) The "final five" will be aired as follows:
Oct. 28th "The Fall of Centauri Prime"
Nov. 4th "The Wheel of Fire"
Nov. 11th "Objects in Motion"
Nov. 18th "Objects at Rest"
Nov. 25th (series finale) "Sleeping in Light"

And,last I heard, the next TV movie,"River of Souls", would be aired on Nov. 3rd. May 27th : The boneheads (not to insult the Minbari here) at WB finally got a clue and announced they are releasing episodes from the WB Home Video collection in July. About darn time!

Claudia Christian recently admitted publicly that SHE indeed was the one who left the show and JMS had nothing to do with it. JMS was on AOL recently, confirmed this, and asked for an apology from all those nasty people who insulted him and said otherwise when all this went down last summer. He won't get it, people with small minds usually can't make themselves be that big about a mistake, but he certainly deserves one.

There are rumours of a 4th TV movie in the works (the first three being,"In the Beginning","Thirdspace", and "River of Souls") called either "Shadows and Lies" or "Shadows of Lies" possibly to feature Anna and Morden. It's also rumored that this may be the feature film but I doubt that considering JMS has pretty much said all along that a feature film would be about the Telepath War. More on this later......

Going back to the aforementioned Travelling Expo, an attendee reported that they'd been shown quite long trailers for "Thirdspace" that were very impressive. One most noted was a scene shown of Minbari Cruisers, Starfuries, and White Stars all firing together on a VERY big ship that was guarding the entrance to Thirdspace. (For you who haven't heard, "thirdspace" is just what it sounds like..there is normal space, hyperspace, and in the movie they will discover "thirdspace".)

June 3rd : Info or rumor from an "insider"..take it as you will....says that TNT is still very happy about the success of the first B5 movie and that another is in production after "River of Souls", to be about David, the forthcoming son of Sheridan and Delenn. It will be set after the events of the series finale, "Sleeping in Light". Is this the same movie rumored to be "Shadows and Lies", a different movie altogether, or just hearsay? Personally, I'd treat it as a rumor till it comes from JMS. But then, HEY! That's what this page is for!
