FACT FILE: A-78 Dragon
A new medium attack craft designed solely for the Close Air
Support mission, it has unprecedented low-speed manuverability and survivability.
It has a low-profile cross section that is very stealthy, and a new technology
TVG (Totally Variable Geometry) wing that can radically alter its shape.
In fact, it has no control surfaces, but rather flexes parts of it wings
to accomplish manuevers. All its ordnance is carried internally to increase
stealth and aerodynamics without relying on power-consuming shields. It
is the first fighter to incorporate the MAST (Maximum
Aircrew Stress Tolerance) system which activates IDFs only when stresses
exceed the maximum the crew can withstand, and then only enough to keep
stress levels just under maximum. This saves a great deal of power, but
means crews must be fit and capable of withstanding high g forces.

The Equipment Rating System
The preceeding descriptions of aerospace craft use a rating
system, rather than precise numbers. This is to simplify the factsheets,
and to make it easier to understand how each specific aerospace craft compares
to others. A value of zero (0) means none, while a value of 1 means minimal
and 10 means maximum within a given statistic.
