FACT FILE: F-5 Tigershark

The Tigershark is the standard medium duty Strategic fighter in use by the SFMC. By replacing some external stores with drop tanks, the F-5 is capable of extending it's endurance to 40 hours at Warp 9.6. This makes the F-5 an excellent convoy escort or long-range patrol craft. With a standard loadout, the Tigershark is a deadly combatant, able to take on any other fighter in known space. A common habit (some would say obsession) among F-5 pilots is painting of teeth and sometimes eyes on the nose of their fighter, following an obscure tradition started in the early twentieth century. Some units paint "tigerstripes" on the vehicle as well, although this is not as often seen.

The Equipment Rating System
The preceeding descriptions of aerospace craft use a rating system, rather than precise numbers. This is to simplify the factsheets, and to make it easier to understand how each specific aerospace craft compares to others. A value of zero (0) means none, while a value of 1 means minimal and 10 means maximum within a given statistic.
