Inferno II (Beast Wars)

A Predacon who has the ability to transform from a robot into a fire ant. He has an arsenal mostly of explosive projectiles and flamethrowers. He has shown complete loyalty to Megatron II as a drone ant would to its queen. Inferno is no way related to the Autobot Inferno who could transform into a fire truck.

Cartoon Bio (US Beast Wars):

Inferno first appeared when one of the Axalon's stasis pods crashed on Earth during the Beast Wars. Airrazor, Tigatron, Tarantulas and Blackarachnia were all after it. Unfortunately, the Predacons got there first, but Tarantulas was too late; the stasis pod had already started to find a suitable animal to use on the protoform.

Tarantulas stopped it in mid-process, the form it made was that of a fire ant, and Inferno was born. But due to Tarantulas's interference (and possibly damage suffered during the landing), Inferno didn't know whose side he was on. He called his stasis pod the "colony" and stopped anyone from going near it (Tarantulas wanted it to get off the planet). When Airrazor and Tigatron met with Inferno, he attacked them. During the fight, Tigatron destroyed the stasis pod, making Inferno angry and wanting to kill him. The fight went back to the Predacon base where Inferno was blown to pieces.

Inferno was later rebuilt by Megatron. Now under his leadership, he calls Megatron "royalty" or "my queen". He has been known to behave very irrationally and have little or no aversion to pain.

Inferno was next seen attacking the Maximal base with Terrorsaur and Waspinator. The fight weakened the Axalon's defenses and the Predacons made off with the Maximals' shields that protected them from Energon build-up while in the Maximal base. When their animal sides took over most of the Maximals, they were reduced to savage animals. Megatron and his Predacons hunted them, and Inferno was among them.

Inferno was also responsible for killing Tigatron's tiger friend Snowstalker. This action made Tigatron go AWOL and not want to be involved in the Beast Wars. But through persuasion from Dinobot, Tigatron put aside his loss to try and stop Inferno from burning down the jungle he was hiding in.

Inferno was scouting a mountain when he found inside a golden disk left by the aliens, and returned it to Megatron. Megatron used the disk's information to his advantage. After a short truce, the Maximals and Predacons fought outside an alien construct while Tarantulas and Blackarachnia went for the Axalon to steal a stasis pod to get off the planet. Inferno followed them, fearing that it would be treason against the Megatron. The two spiders made it in with Inferno not far behind, and they took out Rhinox and Dinobot. They then went into the cargo bay where the Maximals only stasis pod was kept. Inferno walked in and torched Tarantulas, but Blackarachnia put Inferno out of commission. Not long after Optimus Primal sacrificed his life to destroy the alien device destroying the planet, and the creation of the Transmetals Blackarachnia (with Tarantulas inside her head) was allowed to leave with the Transmetal corpse of Tarantulas and Inferno.

Inferno was then restored and played a major role in the big assault on the Axalon with the Fuzors. During the fight, Rhinox used the hold in transwarp space to enter the present day Matrix and get Optimus Primal's Spark out of it and put it into a Spark-less protoform they had found. The new Transmetal Optimus Primal defeated Inferno and the rest of the Predacons.

Inferno and Waspinator later built a jamming tower, but while Waspinator was giving a report, Inferno suddenly began knocking it down, cackling madly as he did.

Megatron and his Predacons attacked a grove with evolving humans in hopes of wiping out the human race so they would not be able to help the Autobots in the futue. Inferno burned down much of the forest, but then got Dinobot's sword stabbed through him. He was then used as a shield to block Blackarachnia's machine guns.

Megatron made another strike on the Axalon but when a mysterious ship arrived the battle was called off. The pilot turned out the be the Decepticon Ravage, who teamed up with the Maximals to stop Megatron. During the assault on the Predacon base, Inferno leaves the battle scene. Megatron was soon arrested and put in restraints. Later, Ravage had Tarantulas tell him where one of Megatron's energon stashes was, and Optimus Primal and Cheetor were sent out to get it. There, they found only unstable energon, and Inferno! Inferno kept them at bay until the energon began to put him into stasis lock. Rather than surrender, Inferno set fire to the explosive energon. Though Inferno was caught in the blast, the two Maximals fled in time.
