Obelisk

An alien superweapon dubbed simply "the obelisk" by Tigatron. It was located on a floating island on Earth millions of years in the past. The prism on top of the obelisk has a symbol of an eye inside of a triangle; this same symbol was on the alien Golden Disk that Inferno had found. This prism's destructive blast was automatically triggered by energy signatures used by Maximal and Predacon weapons. This weapon could also be controlled by someone from within the obelisk itself. The obelisk was protected by traps around the floating island. It contained catapults, closing walls and drops floors. The traps appeared to be triggered by motion. The obelisk has been destroyed.

Cartoon Bio (US Beast Wars):

When Tigatron was attacked in the Arctic by Terrorsaur and Waspinator, he fell off a cliff into a dark cloud. Soon, he found himself on a strange floating island. Terrorsaur and Waspinator followed and tried to attack, but were blasted by the island's weapons.

Terrorsaur and Waspinator returned to Predacon headquarters and told Megatron about the island's power. Wanting too seek it out, he sent Scorponok and Blackarachnia to seize it for him. Secretly being followed by Airrazor, the two Predacons successfully got onto the island. There, they discovered the Maximal and shot her out of the sky. Immediately, the island's main weapon — the obelisk — attacked them, just barely missing them. Tigatron, meanwhile, seized control of one of Scorponok's reconnaissance cyberbees, and used it as a message to call the Maximals for help. The two Predacons made it to the obelisk, but Blackarachnia decided to take it for herself. Scorponok tried to stop her but set off a trap door and fell off the island. She then went up to the control room, where she was surged with a strange energy, changing her colors. As her first act of control, she lowered the cloud from around the island, revealing the island to those not on it.

Raising the obelisk, she used it to keep the Maximals at bay while she made the island head for the Axalon. During the fight, Tigatron entered the obelisk and destroyed its power center, causing it to shut down and the island to plummet from the sky. The Maximals got away in time, but Blackarachnia didn't. She was inside the obelisk when it crashed, and reverted to normal. After the island's destruction, the prism on the top of the obelisk shot an energy beam to one of the planet's moons, where another obelisk relayed the beam into what appeared to be a "worm hole" of some kind.
