Orion Pax

Cartoon Bio:

Originally a Cybertronian cargo handler, the brash Orion Pax eventually became the Autobot legend Optimus Prime. As Pax, he idolized the new breed of Decepticons for their power and ability to fly, not knowing of their future evil intentions. Megatron visited with Pax and surveyed the cargo hold, and the power of Megatron seduced the naive Transformer. Later that same day, Megatron returned with an army of Decepticons to capture the energon stored in Pax's warehouse for the upcoming war effort. In the battle, Pax was slain alongside his friends, including his girlfriend Ariel, who would be later rebuilt as Elita-One.

The body of Pax was brought to Alpha Trion by the Aerialbots, who had been teleported back in time during a fight between the Autobots and Decepticons on Cybertron over a time machine. After intense reconstruction, Orion Pax was no more; and Optimus Prime was born. Realizing the error of his previous infatuation with the Decepticons' raw power, Prime swore to make amends. Older, wiser, and more mature, Prime eventually earned his place as the Autobot commander. The body of Ariel was more damaged and was presumably resurrected after the Aerialbots were returned to their native time by Wheeljack.
