Quintessons have a rather warped sense of justice, following a law where the "Innocent" are fed to their Sharkticons, it is unknown what happens to the "Guilty"....

The Quintessons built Guardian robots to protect them if their creations should revolt. The two factions, Autobots (designed for commericial use) and the Decepticons (designed for military use) were also used to build more Transformers due to the Quintessons' laziness. Transformers who revolted or didn't work efficiently were deactivated and melted down to be rebuilt into new Transformers. As a form of entertainment, they would sometimes have their creations combat each other.
Soon, the Autobot faction of workers got fed up and wanted to be liberated. The Autobot A-3 built a device hidden in his slave brand (currently the Autobot insignia) that froze the Guardians dead in their tracks, allowing the Transformers to fight back. Unwilling to face their slaves, the Quintessons fled the planet.
Over the millions of years that came to pass, the Quintessons built a new home world called Quintessa, and another race of Transformers called Sharkticons to be their slaves.
During this time of uninvolvment with the Transformers, they turned two planets against each other and locked a third one away.
In the year 2005, a ship containing Hot Rod, Kup, and the Dinobots was shot down and crashed on Quintessa, separating Kup and Hot Rod from the Dinobots. Hot Rod and Kup where captured by a group of Sharkticons and were taken to the Quintesson prison to await their trial. The two Autobots were pronounced innocent and cast into the pit of Sharkticons to be devoured. After a brief fight, they were saved by the Dinobots and Wheelie, whose presense on Quintessa was unexplained.
Grimlock convinced the Sharkticons to revolt against their masters, which created a long enough distraction for the Autobots to steal a Quintesson shuttle and escape. It is unknown how this revolt was resolved, but later Quintesson exploits have shown the Sharkticons with a fail-safe mechanism that prevented them from harming their masters.
Not long after Unicron's defeat, the Quintessons attacked the Universe Olympics, kidnapping Ultra Magnus, Kup and Spike. They were tried at Quintessa, found innocent, and fed to the Sharkticons.
The Autobots mistakenly went after the Decepticons at first. Eventually, Rodimus Prime was injured and traveled into the Matrix, where he learned who really kidnapped his friends. The Autobots immediately made an attack on Quintessa, freeing their friends and capturing a Quintesson. The other Quintessons escaped, setting their planet to blow up. The Autobots were rescued by the Aerialbots but the explosion knocked them onto a planet known as Goo.
Meanwhile, the Quintessons went to the Decepticons on Charr and made an alliance in exchange for the energon they needed. Blitzwing remembered them from somewhere and decided not to follow. His fellow Decepticons went with the Quintessons to Goo to destroy the Autobots. Galvatron arrived on Charr, is informed by Blitzwing of where his troops went, and goes to Goo as well.
Although violently opposed to the Quintessons at first, Galvatron teamed up with the Quintessons when they mention a "Decepticon Matrix". Galvatron and the Decepticons attack the Autobots but the Autobots manage to escape thanks to the help of the Junkions. The Quintessons then assisted the Deceptions in building new warriors and resupplying them with energon.
The Quintessons and Decepticons then made an assault on Cybertron, and Galvatron told Blitzwing to report to the Quintessons. Instead, Blitzwing overheard them talking about how they will betray the Decepticons, and that there was no Decepticon Matrix. Blitzwing tried to warn Galvatron, but his warnings fell on deaf ears. Desperate, Blitzwing teamed up with the Autobots to stop the Sharkticons from activating a device beneath Cybertron that would freeze all the Transformers.
Seeing this, Galvatron thought that Blitzwing was a traitor and activated the device himself. Fortunately, Spike Witwicky was present and unaffected by the device. He managed to shut it off, freeing the Autobots and Decepticons, who chased off the Quintessons.
Not long after, a lone Quintesson were performing an experiment and captured Ultra Magnus, Wreck-Gar, Cyclonus and Marissa Faireborne to study them. When Faireborne tried to escape and free the other captives, they caused a series of ship failures and the ship hit an electron storm. They were sucked into a black hole and ended up in another universe. The group worked together to free themselves, and afterwards, they went their separate ways.
The Quintessons next had the Decepticons chase the Autobots to the Autobot Crypt where Optimus Prime had been reactivated and reprogrammed to lead the Autobots into a trap. Rodimus Prime returned the Matrix to Optimus, but eventually, Optimus overcame the programming and called off the Autobots from the suicidal strike. Instead, he set off the traps with his own ship, seemingly destroying himself.
The Quintessons' next plot was inventing a "time window" to kidnap A-3 from the past, ensuring the failure of the Transformer rebellion. Wreck-Gar, Blurr, Blaster, Ramhorn and Rewind ended up in the past to lead the rebellion while the Autobots in the present saved A-3 and worked to repaired the damaged time window. Succeeding, they returned A-3 to his own time, retrieved their fellow Autobots from the past, and destroyed the timegate before its unstable energies could destroy the universe.
Not long after, Grimlock and Daniel entered a strange world where they had to save the "Golden One" from the "Red Wizard" who turned out to be a Quintesson.
The Quintessons next tried to destroy the Transformers by reviving their old creations, the Trans-organics. The Autobots and Decepticons managed to fight off them until they were defeated by the biggest Trans-organic, dubbed the "Dweller". The Dweller was eventually jettisoned into space with the Autobots' new power core and landed on a Quintesson Ship. It is unknown how the Dweller was dealt with.
The Quintessons' next plot on human study was manipulating the mind of Daniel Witwicky, a plan which was thwarted by the Autobots.
The Quintessons went after a journal they lost on the Planet of Junk, but were attacked by the Junkions when they were spotted. Trying to convince the Junkions to let them search, they used subliminal messages on TV to make the Junkions nicer. When Superion attacked the Quintessons, the subliminal device was damaged and the subliminal messages made everyone violent and made them want to go to Junkion and fight. The Quintessons lost the journal and were forced to retreat. The Autobots later found this journal and find that the Quintessons were the reason why two feuding planets were at war. This information revealed the Quintessons' involvement and the two races went to peace.
Later the Quintessons hired the Terrorcons to stop trader Dirk Manus from making off with a device that could store and repair anything. It led to a series of backstabbings which ended in the Quintessons being duped by Manus, the Technobots and Marissa Faireborne.
A Quintesson was seen rebuilding Optimus Prime on Sky Lynx's orders in order to combat the hate plague. The Quintessons have not been seen since.

In 2008 a rift in space-time, caused by the time-jumps of Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge, doomed their planet, and it was only a matter of time before it ceased to exist. The Quintessons sent Sharkticon scouts to various worlds to assess which would be suitable to conquer and replace their own world. A cannister containing logs of these missions fell into the hands of Wreck Gar and the Junkions.
Lord Kledji, leader of the Quintessons, ordered a twin assault to conquer Cybertron. General Ghyrik invaded Autobot City on Earth with his fleet of Trident Warships. When Rodimus Prime arrived on the scene, most of the Autobots there had already fallen. Ghyrik stole Rodimus's Creation Matrix, and the Autobot leader reverted to the weaker form of Hot Rod.
Meanwhile, the Quintesson Jollup had lured Soundwave's Cybertronian Decepticons into a trap, and his ground troops were routing their forces. Only the intervention of Ultra Magnus and the Autobots from Autobase saved them and the Transformers' homeworld. Still, Soundwave told Magnus that too much had happened between the opposing factions, and despite fighting side-by-side today, the war would inevitably continue.
On Earth, Hot Rod managed to activate Metroplex, who rose up from beneath the city. Metroplex single-handedly destroyed the entire Quintesson fleet and their ground forces on Earth. Hot Rod managed to recapture the Matrix, and Ghyrik was flung from a high tower to his death below. The planet Quintesson exploded, and the few remaining ships disappeared into space, destination unknown. Wreck Gar transmitted the Quintesson logs so that all worlds would be on their guard in future.
