Meanwhile, Hound, Skyfire and Spike were captured by the Decepticons after stowing away on a oil tanker to get past the force field that protected the oil platform.
Back at the lab, Wheeljack finally found the chip that was controlling the machines attacking them. Prime took the deactivated chip and went after Torq. After a battle with a machine it had looked like one of the control chips had been placed on Optimus. However, it was a ruse: Optimus had used the dead chip Wheeljack gave him earlier. Optimus was thus able to get close enough to destroy Torq by punching his control console.
Spike eventually freed Hound and Skyfire by using a magnet to pin the guards to the wall. They then distracted Frenzy long enough to knock down the force field. At that point, the other Autobots arrived to battle the Decepticons, who retreated after Megatron set up a self-destruct sequence on the platform. Nonetheless, the Autobots managed to escape. They returned to the lab, where Dr. Gates claimed that Torq would only be reactivated if it could be perfected and made tamper-proof.
The current status of Torq III is unknown.
