TERRY PRATCHETTFinally, this page has become so long that I had to split it up into sections. Here's what you can jump to:Me about Terry PratchettTerry Pratchett is my favourite fantasy author.I absolutely love his Discworld-Series, which, in my humble opinion, is the best fantasy there is. Oh, I can hear all those hard-core fantasy fans out there, saying that there certainly is other fantasy out there which is worthwhile reading. To those I say -- of course there is, but Discworld is simply the best, because it's hilarious. It has all the ingredients of "regular" fantasy, with a generous amount of comedy thrown in, and the occasional mirror held out to each of us. Back to top of page Terry Pratchett's bio"Terry Pratchett was born 1948 and is still not dead. He started work as a journalist one day in 1965 and saw his first corpse three hours later, work experience meaning something in those days. After doing just about every job it's possible to do in provincial journalism, except of course covering Saturday afternoon football, he joined the Central Electricity Generating Board and became press officer for four nuclear power stations. He'd write a book about his experiences if he thought anyone would believe it.All this came to an end in 1987 when it became obvious that the Discworld series was much more enjoyable than real work. Since then the books have reached double figures and have a regular place in the bestseller lists. He also writes books for younger readers. Occasionally he gets accused of literature. Terry Pratchett lives in Wiltshire with his wife Lyn and daughter Rhianna. He says writing is the most fun anyone can have by themselves." quoted from the inside cover of his Discworld books by Corgi. Discworld Books by Terry Pratchett:
DisclaimerOk, now we have all that copyright stuff. The Discworld and all its characters are copyright by Terry Pratchett. As far as I know that goes for all the Discworld books too, at least that's what it says inside them, but I will find out for sure as soon as possible. They were published by Corgi books. And I am sure that all those lovely book covers that grace my pages are copyrighted too, even though I have not read it explicitly. They were made by Josh Kirby and I am currently attempting to get in touch with him to find out. When making these pages, I wanted to express my own personal opinion and that of those who contribute to my pages by emailing me, or sending in ratings, so the views expressed in those pages do not neccessarily reflect those of the author or the publisher, unless explicitly stated otherwise. Also, I never intended to infringe on any existing copyright, so if you find material that is copyrighted without my knowledge, please let me know so I can apply for permission or take the material in question off my pages.
