Unlike "The Book of Ultimate Truths" (which is a wholly scandalous imaginary  tome by the equally scandalous and imaginary Hugo Rune), the Book of Original Fiction is just that - a collection of my short stories and other works that are fully and 100% my own, in chronological order. No disclaimers necessary (well, very few). Read, digest, and if you have feed back, I'm always open to email.

A Strange Encounter
In which the Devil goes to see a psychiatrist. Hardly original but my first piece of truly unique work..

True Love
An exploration of the sort of couple that makes you stare and think "Why are they dating?", combined with my usual unusual perspective.

Harry and the Wolves.
In which the owner of a zoo in danger of foreclosure finds a solution in a young feral boy. An example of a path and style I didn't follow,  although I can get mildly addicted to the 'no first person speech' approach.

Smoking Skunk on Kings Cross Thameslink Station
Inspired by an odd sight I saw a few years back at 7'o'clock in the morning as I was coming back from the Edinburgh Festival. An attempt at a slice of life from a culture not my own.

Death Came for Me in a Glass
A mood piece. Of sorts. It's about love and death and suicide and life, and is influenced by Neil Gaiman's 'Sandman', but mostly  inspired by my own views of love, loss life and death. Contains scenes of an adult nature.

True Confessions
An odd piece, inspired by the image of the police hiring someone to write their confessions for them. But whilst that image was a humorous one, this story is less so - a science fiction piece about a totalitarian system and the young woman who works within it.

Telling Tales Out Of School
In which we learn something of the past of the vampire Jane Simmons. Jane was originally a character from a White Wolf roleplaying game 'Vampire: the Masquerade' and all such items mentioned within the story that relate to said system (such as clan names etc) are copyright White Wolf Studios. Contains scenes of an adult nature.

Whatever happened to Maxi Malice?
Another story with no direct speech, this concerns a brash rock journalist, his investigation into an infamous vanished rock star, and the horrors that await him on the journey.

Choose...
An interesting if flawed attempt to combine poetry and music, showing once and for all that I really don't have much talent for the former. The intention was that the reader would read the poem in time to the music so that both ended together. But it doesn't work.

Hiding in Plain Sight
An attempt to write a story in a week, and it shows, this was inspired by Harlan Ellison's habit of once a year writing a story in public based on one sentence given to him by someone famous. It tells the tale of a writer and the events that happen during a publicity stunt very much like Mr Ellison's.

C.Ulture Shocked
Not a short story this time, this is my internet comic strip that I draw and put up daily. It concerns the adventures of Caroline Ulture, a young British woman living in the US and finding that things there are, well, a little bit unusual.
