CHASTITY RETURNS--AND THE CHAOS! COSMOS ARE ROCKED!

June 3, 1998 - Chaos! Comics' President, Brian Pulido, announced the October 2nd launch of Rocked, the second Chastity mini-series and the much-anticipated sequel to 1997's sell-out Theatre of Pain. 

Chastity-a reluctant vampire assassin who would rather be acting than killing-has recently appeared as a major supporting character in Evil Ernie: Destroyer. She will continue her role as a sidekick and girlfriend in the first three issues of the forthcoming Evil Ernie on-going monthly. Still, readers have repeatedly requested she return in her own book.

"Chastity is the character readers want to see more of," stated Publisher/Creator Pulido, who has turned the creative reins over to long-time collaborator Philip Nutman (Suspira, Destroyer) as writer of Rocked. Hot artist, Justiniano, who illustrated Chastity: Theatre of Pain, returns as penciler. Nutman and Justiniano recently collaborated on the hit series The Omen.

"Chastity is great fun to write," Nutman enthused. "She's bright, breezy, hip and can kick ass as well-if not better-than most superheroes. She also has a great deal of depth to her character which Brian has encouraged me to explore in the series."

Framed by events in the present which will lead Chastity towards her vital role in next year's epic Armageddon multi-storyline, the majority of Rocked takes place in 1980's New York City. The mini-series chronicles Chastity's first action-filled encounter with the ancient oriental vampire sorceress, Jade.

"This story has it all," added Pulido. "Action, romance, the Yakuza, vampire ninjas-set against an 80's punk rock backdrop." "Part of the pleasure of writing Chastity is that her adventures are very character-driven on one hand, and very much about recent pop culture on the other." Philip Nutman commented. "Rocked is as much about big hair, skinny ties, poets, punks and rock 'n' rap as it is about the dilemma of trying to audition for Broadway when you're battling supernatural Yakuza."

Since Chaos! prints to order, with over-runs, Chaos! titles sell out quickly, and readers and retailers should start making plans to pre-order now as the series is certain to be much in demand.

Chaos! Comics will support the launch of Chastity: Rocked with in house previews and trade ads, web site Previews, an 18" x 24" promo poster, E-Mail messaging, and a contest tie in with Wizard Magazine

To celebrate the release of Chastity: Rocked #1, Chaos! has created the "trinity covers" which are three separate stand alone cover variants that when joined together form one image-all illustrated by Justiniano.

Chaos' vampiric sweetheart returns for an all-new three issue miniseries in April!

Since she began her vampiric existence in the classic Chastity: Theater of Pain miniseries, Chastity Marks has become the darling of the Chaos! Cosmos, a role which was only strengthened by the acclaimed Chastity: Rocked miniseries. Through her stories, readers have come to know Chastity as a pop-culture aficionado, a vampire, a rocker, an actress, and a survivor. In her new miniseries, Chastity: Lust For Life, she'll have to show that she's all that and more as she finds herself in brutal combat with the deadliest enemies she's ever faced.

Returning to tell Chastity's story is Bram Stoker award winning author, Rocked and Theatre of Pain writer, Phil Nutman. Joining Nutman for the three-issue miniseries will be Al (Purgatori) Rio on pencils and Joe Pimmitel on inks.

Nutman's story grants Chastity her greatest dream - a starring role in a major motion picture! However, that dream is ripped from her while en route to the filming location in Paris as Chastity is thrust into a bloody conflict with the European Council of Vampires. As regular Chaos! readers know, Dracula, the former council leader, is dead, and vampiric civil war rages across Europe. Little does Chastity know that others foresaw her coming, and have plans for her in the war of the vampires - plans that she cannot escape and just may end the story of Chastity forever!
