Everyone heads down to check out below, whether or not the evil remains. We do this the day before everyone levels. Everyone receives mass darkvision from Laquavious. We head back down. There seems to be a strange lack of decaying body smell. Interesting, since we just killed a large creature and there is not even a decaying odor present. It seems that the rats have eaten the Behir. Disgusting! Everything seems to have been harvested.
We continue along. When we start getting down there, Drake can see a barracade with human-looking creatures standing guard. We head closer, and a few can see a lump in the wall, covered with a plaster-like material. They detect a presence of evil. Henry speaks with them for a while, and they ask us to leave.
Can hear the sounds of nimble feet moving down the passageway. The humanlike creature has a slight Narnev accent to his voice. Four more show up to the extent of his vision. Leather armor, rapier, dagger. Still looks very human. There are now 6 evil auras in the area, and the strongest is moderate. Woman is strongest. They return to the group.
Laquavious knows that historically, in large metropolises, there are some factors of wererats. This is because the sewers give them some sort of habitat. They tend to run more theive's guild type of factions.
Hana knows that Narnev city was never known to really have a wererat population.
Hana has a moment of deliberation between eating her own feces, and being faster.
We decide to wait until those who can level do, and then will go down and take care of the evil below....

Henry heads down, invisible and trying to get a look at that lump in the wall. The plaster seems to be very thin, almost as if you can chip it off. There almost seems to be a cheap glass behind it. Behind the plaster, there is a crystal with a small rock inside. He goes back to the behir room, and gets some small baseball-sized stones. Throws them at the general area, and the whole hallway bursts open in light, as daylight is shining through the area (the gem realeased daylight). Henry quickly flees. Gets a little shot from a crossbow quarrel as he leaves.
He hangs around a little bit, re-invisibilities himself, and watches. There seemed to be lumps in the wall about every 15'. He hangs around for a little bit longer, then leaves.

Everyone receives mass darkvision; Laquavious uses the remaining charges in his cat's grace...
Henry told Laquavious it is OK to fireball him when he appears.
they know we're on the way. and the battle of wererats begins....
We stand back and let Henry move forward and attack. One flees, One changes and grows furry; draws a rapier and a dagger. Martin casts shield of faith on Drake, Laquavious casts fireball ahead. Daylight starts going off all over the place. We can see can see a burned barricade. It looks like there is one dead wererat, one living wererat, and Henry. Hana flies up and partial charges, and just misses a hit. Bear moves up, but remains invisible. Henry attacks the wererat. The wererat will attempt to skewer Hana and succeeds. Martin runs up. Laquavious moves up next to Martin, as does Elayshea. Hana attacks the wererat, and critically kills him into oblivion. She then attacks the barricade and removes a chunk. Martin makes her weapon magical.
There seems to be a lot of squeaking noises up ahead, echoing down passageways.
We all move forward a little, Drake prepares to blockade one of the passages.
Everyone decides to head into the left passage, and ready for enemies. Henry is a little behind Hana when a bunch of them appear both behind and in front of him. Henry attacks them, critically injuring one. Hana comes up behind one of the ones and critically attacks him, splattering his remains on the floor. She then flies over Henry's head, landing on the shoulders of the wererat on the other side of Henry, attacking that one as well. Although his attempts of attack are futile, she splits his head open with one hearty swoop of the powerful bastard sword. Laquavious missed an attack on another wererat. Martin attempts to Holy Smite some of the ones down the passageway, and wounded one of them. We hear no more noise.
Henry begins looking for passageways, and finds a room. Hana and the rest of the group follows. It is a room that is 35x35. Martin notices some on the ceiling, as rats start coming out of all the holes. Henry attacks quite a few, many are injured. Lots of battle to the rats. After a while, they all flee.
The woman comes out, and uses command to have all the creatures fall. More battle. we emerge victoriously.
Henry heads down the passageway, and we all follow. many creatures invisible. Laquavious turns them visible. another long battle.
after many injuries, Laquavious starts a surrender. Everyone, with the exception of Henry, agrees. Everyone at the request of the woman moves into the room. Henry makes a point to move his hand to look like he will do something, but keeps his hand out. She asks why we have attacked her people. We believe their group to be evil, and that is why we have done so. She says that they have to move now as they have been discovered. She says we have alerted all far and wide that they are there. She will give us 48 hours to make reparations for all their dead. She asks for 100 gold crowns for each of the small ones that have died, and 4k gold for the night stalker, 900 gold for each of the night walkers that were killed. comes out to about 1300 for rats, 7200 for the night walkers, 3000 for night stalker. Drake gave them his ring of Fire Resistance in exchange for their dead and we agreed to leave.
Laquavious goes to talk to Christopher, the head cleric that came up with the Galan church for a while.
The group heads back. Laquavious talks to Martin about the concept of evil, and the different types and how that relates to Galas.
We come to the cabin with the man and the dogs, and Drake speaks with them, while Hana remains a good distance away.
6/20
We arrive in Karse and check into an inn. Drake gets his staff identified.
7/15
Arrive in Beregost. Hana goes to talk to Thalantyr about the information he was supposed to get about the woman with the gem. He came across something, he was told that a ring similar only missing the gemstone was reportedly in the east of Asgard. It was in a "private collection" -- the person who owned it was not human. the woman from the picture was Asgardian, not a noble woman by birth but known as a hero. A friend of his, Drow Hendridge, had mentioned that he overheard some inquiries of people specifically looking for the gemstone. Female half elf had asked on multiple occasions, as well as requests from woodsmen. He describes the half-elven woman. She is described the woman hiring the Mordehel. Again, ring is in Eastern Asgard.
7/16
Drake visits with Thalantyr; Hana visits with Thalantyr about the entertainment house. She also talks with tht group about the ring setting.
7/17
Laquavious would like to send a package to the elven capital. Beautiful weather the day we leave. 85-90 degrees, summer sun. We begin heading east.
We hear of how Narnev is still recovering from the theives Guild war.
As we are riding, we come across a robed half elven woman (the woman described above). She was riding alone, had a whip dagger on either side. She was very attractive. Didn't seem to notice anything about the gem as she rode by, but seemed to study the group carefully. Talked with us shortly, and rode on.
Laquavious asked why we didn't do anything, and Hana replied that since she probably didn't know, it may not be a wise thing to attack her right away.
Martin divines about the mistress, and we find that:
"while she walks the path of the huntress she does not yet know her prey, but if she knows her prey in the short days that follow she will be victorious"
