Game Events 11/15/03





8/30
We enter the town, ask for everyone to gather at the temple of Lathander, so that we have a way to administer the treatment. The people are in a horrible state; flesh is falling off their bodies in small amounts. The disease is spread through dead bodies, once we cure the people they cannot have any more contact with dead bodies. 5 are chosen to be cured today. After the spell is cast, there doesn't seem to have been any real effect on those that are sick. As far as Elayshea can tell, they *seem* to be cured. However, there doesn't seem to be any physical change in the people. We will wait until the next day and try some more people.



9/1
We continue to try curing those that are sick, 5 at a time. While checking over those that were cured, Martin notices that one of those is still exhibiting a gray pallor, and appears to not have been cured.



9/2
The group all loses points of CON as they get sicker. Henry heads to the temple to spend some time there. The temple is in shambles as those who were sick have ransacked the place searching for answers. Hana continues to entertain the children.



9/3
The healing continues for those in the town.



9/4
More CON is lost among the group. Healing continues.



9/5
Healing continues. The group is also healed. It will take us an additional 5 days to help heal the rest of the town.



9/10
We are all healed. Henry decides to pay Elayshea back for the scroll of resurrection; During the 5 days he searches the town for bodies. Martin begins purifying the graveyard.



9/11
The graveyard is purified. He thinks he can see a pair of glowing green eyes as it is finished, that slowly disappears. He is utterly exhausted, and makes his way to the temple. Drake purifies all food to make sure that everything is good. Laquavious lets us know that he is heading to Karse, to help retreive things for the town.



9/12
Laquavious heads back to Karse. He heads to the temple of Lathander. He gets the attention of an acolyte. After explaining the situation to Brother Daniel, he is directed to a woman who has gold streaks in her hair. He explains the situation to her as well. She asks him to wait a day before he leaves while she can find more information. Laquavious also asks her to not spread it around. Sets down fairly ornate items, symbol on the front (flat plain, sun just breaking horizon). Laquavious and Drake heads to the temple of Galas. They talk to the Paladin about the situation, and again ask him to keep things quiet. They spend some time chit chatting. The paladin takes Laq to a cleric, where he purchases some things for Martin.



9/13
When Laq and Drake arrive at the temple, they find a few priests there waiting for them, to head to the town. Laq teleports and messes up, ends up south of the city of Karse, in the city of Melvon. They continue trying to head to the town.



9/14
There is a pop the next morning as Laquavious teleports into the town with Drake and several of the priests. They are set about to take care of things, and we wait. Henry heads to the crypt to scope out the area. Symbols of Orcus seems to have been drawn over many of the walls. He does not tell anyone he is going down there. Faint smell of incense in the air. He goes to kick something and hurts his foot. He heads off to find Martin. The sarcophagus is made of bone, instead of stone and colored in blood. Martin speaks with one of the priests about a leader for the town. Martin and Henry talk for a bit about the situation and Martin goes down to investigate. Martin detects evil in the room. He asks Elayshea what to do, she suggests collapsing it. We talk about how long we are going to be staying in the town, and agree to leave 4 days later.



9/15-9/17
Hana spends time entertaining the children, Henry spends all time outside of town.



9/18
We leave the town.



9/25
We come across an area where there are several rotting body parts of undead, there are also the tracks of a large land-based lizard present. We are about a day from the road. Approx 1 in the afternoon, gloomy day.



9/26
Back to the road.



9/28
We see a huge herd of about 300 horses being led by men. Later that afternoon, we see another large herd of horses. Martin buys a horse.



9/29
About 4-5 p.m., come across a large hostel. We are informed of all the rules. 5 beings come in, very physically built, pay with platinum, hands are covered by robes. Slight smell of orc present. We all get rooms.
Everyone eats and most people stay in the tavern. A heavily dressed individual walks in and exchanges a notched rod with some of the other individuals. They get up and leave. Henry notices one of the women from the fair there in the tavern.
Laquavious meets a man with a large sword, who is talking about a "disappearing woman" -- the woman with wings that had bestowed gifts on us once before. He talks about the holy Liberator, and the angel he had travelled with, were seen in the area.
Martin is sitting in the tavern, and listening to conversation all around him. One of the things he heard about was a man who was fighting a creature, eventually detonating it. Everytime there is a creature there, this man just "happens" to show up and defeat the creatures.



9/30
Martin asks everyone about a town nearby, no one seems to know where it is. Martin re-tells the story about the man defeating all the creatures coming into the town. Henry asks all about Gendalorn, the mage who's tower pops all around. He is a famous arcane crafter, who developed completely new construct types.



10/5
We are sleeping and are awoken by Martin and Laquavious, telling us to "hurry hurry hurry". there is a large Antichamber, 30' square, 50' tall. Laquavious goes in, followed by the rest of the group.
Nothing in the room. on the wall, 10' away from each, there is carvings into the wall. #8, there is a man with a magnifying glass who is carefully etching into a steel bar. As Henry looks at it, it looks like it could move. Henry uses the whip to push the rod, and the door closes behind us. The man stands up.
Mid-70s, older, well dressed.
He asks us if we would like to play a game. We all step forward. We are told that we can only leave 3 times. Each time someone leaves, it is incremented. Each individual may only leave 3 times.
The second rule is that translocative magics only work inside the structure. Planar travel is unavailable. Planar travel within the structure is allowed.
the third rule is that we may feel free to attempt to tamper, defeat, speak with the structure. The structure will be resilient in certain areas to magics of movement including rocks to mud, pass walls, etc.
the fourth rule is that the exception of rule 2 is restoration of life.
The fifth rule is that while within the structure we may feel free to take anything that may be of use to us. Anything we defeat that has loot, is ours to take.
the sixth rule is that there is no direct time limit.
He asks if we are ready. We continue prepping spells to enter the game.
The next rule is that the structure will rebuild and restock itself over time.
The goal of the game is to reach the end of the structure. There are creatures inside. When you enter the next room, there will be a pedestal. On each pedestal is a ring. You can use the ring to leave and return to the beginning of each level.
No one has made it through, 7 other groups have tried.
The light dims, door opens, illuminated room with a pedestal and 7 rings, 1 for each person. Simple brass rings with a red quartz on top. Put it on, and it grows around the hand. There is a burning sensation, and the number "8" appears on the shoulder with three small circles beneath it. the hallway illuminates beyond. 15x15 stone hallway, sconces every few feet.
It goes down a total of 50 feet. Come out into a large room, with torches illuminating. Square room, along the walls is artistic work of various artisans working. Glow appears and a figure from ealier manifests again to welcome us to the first level of the structure. He tells us that we can activate the rings by will. He tells us that 7 groups have made it past so far. 7 have passed the level.
We are told we will be presented with an offer on each level.
He is only available to answer questions at the beginning of each level.
We head away from the man and continue on with the level.
We enter a room 25x15. At the far side is a door in dragon bone with a dragon claw with a handle. We all back up and Henry steps on a red square, feeling magic wash over him.
He gets to the end staying on all red squares, and checks the door, which looks fine. He pushes it open, and there is a hallway turning exactly to the left. Hana picks up Laquavious and takes the green squares. We feel magic wash over us. Martin also takes the green squares, as does Drake and Bear. We follow the hallway around. We come to a large room, the tiles are large white. In several areas, there are numbers on the tiles. Henry steps on the "17". A column of acidic spray descends from the ceiling. At another numbered one, a column of fire descends.
Henry reaches the door. All in the group follow. We get to a door with completely normal wood. Not trapped. No spot for hinges or anything. Hana attempts to chop down the door. She chops down the door, and on the other side of the door is a man, 8' tall. Looks like a big standing man out of wood. Henry used the necklace of fireballs. Drake uses his wand of cure light, the wood man attempts to hit and misses. Martin casts prayer. Hana also attacks. The wood man hits hana on his next hit, doing quite a bit of damage. Martin heals Hana, and after the next attack from Henry it crumbles, sending splinters in the air.
We continue on, and there is a sack, and a treasure. Henry pushed on a wall, and it spun him around. He searches the wall. Doesn't seem to be any way to get back around. He starts making noise on the other side of the wall. Laq finds the secret door. A few of us start searching the area. Chaos insues as secret doors are moving all over. Hana and Henry move into a separate area. There is a summoning circle on the ground. Hana steps on the crown part of the circle, and a crown with Jacinth falls on the floor. Hana puts it on.
Henry goes back to tell the group how to get through. They all go through and we end up at the front room again.
We head down another tunnel. The door has a dragon's head on it. Another door has a lion's head, another one has a goat's head.
As henry examines the dragon door, something really seems to be bothering him. He flicks the dragon's nose. Eyes blink at him. The head starts to come out of the door, as does the Lion's and the Goat's.
Any magical traps are DC 18, mechanical are DC 14.
Fight ensues with the creatures. After the creatures are dead, Henry searches the doors. We head down through the door and down a hallway. We come to an area where a wheel must be spinned. At that point, a weapon will fall from the ceiling.
We gather all the weapons available and continue on.
We come to a small arms. Upper arms have chisels, middle has manipulators. Lower has a file and a hammer. Made out of metal and steel. Chisels have a lightning aura, manipulators have a fire aura. File and Hammer have an acid aura.
We defeat the creature, and come to a staircase. Following down the staircase, we get to Level 2.
