Galleries (#567) The tiers stretch from the entrance of the cavern all the way to the far side, surrounding the hot sands. The rail at the front bars overeager spectators from climbing over, though the drop from the top rail isn't too far. Overhead, the spacious cavern ceiling serves as the backdrop for the many dragons that fly in and out through the large hole in the wall leading back to the bowl. The four rows of seats are quite close to the sands, in fact, visitors often dismount from the back of the dragons right onto the tiers. Obvious exits: Viewing ledges Entrance You look down upon the sands: Hatching Sands
The queens have made four mounds to stash their eggs into, though it appears some of eggs have been shuffled from mound to mound. Lumpy Mound, Big Mound, Flattened Mound, and Shallow Mound. Mulderth, Dreary Rainy Day Egg, and Rolling Ocean Egg are in the Big Mound. Soulth, Gypsy Dance Egg, and Marvelous Musical Egg are in the Shallow Mound. Computer M*ing Egg, Calamityth, Earth, and Quill and Parchment Egg are in the Flattened Mound. Hidden Waterfall Egg is in the Lumpy Mound. You see Zivath, Sirikith, Aerinth, Warth, Fabrinath, M'ars, Korinth, Timoth, Kenny the Candidate, and Skullyth here. Obvious exits:
Iona sits dozing in the warmth of the heat from the sands. >From the Sands, Aerinth peers at one cluster of eggs with suddenly
whirling eyes and then resumes her low thrumming. More! More coming! Soon!
>From the Sands, Fabrinath joins in, head rising off her paws as she eyes the egg nearest her give a convulsive shake. *THRUM* She adds her voice to Aerinth's! Cien perks up a bit sleepily at the sounds of the big golds. She lazily adds her trilling hum to all the noises. Hey, didn't we do this before? "Sharding watchrider," comes the cursed gravel of Fort's Head Steward, as Fenlarys trudges slumped across the tiers. Out onto the sands she peers with reluctant belief. "Sharding eggs." Word of the day? "Sharding hatchings." Rowena blinks and stretches. Longest hatching she's ever sat through. >From the Sands, Muireann peers out into the entryway at the huddle of candidates. "Quick! Come on in! There's more about ready to hatch!" She looks exhausted, with deep circles gouged under her eyes, but she's still luminous with Aerinth's shared excitement. >From the Sands, Mishia walks onto the sands from the entrance. >From the Sands, Rivka glides gracefully onto the sands from the entrance. >From the Sands, Ailheen walks onto the sands from the entrance. >From the Sands, Bradley walks onto the sands from the entrance. >From the Sands, Rukar pounces happily onto the sands from the entrance. >From the Sands, Mishia jogs in quickly and skids to a halt, not falling like she almost did last time. "May the dance begin again." She mutters. >From the Sands, Fairelly walks onto the sands from the entrance. >From the Sands, Rukar, bowing to all the dragons and riders, runs over to a huddle of his friends, and does the sand dance. >From the Sands, Bradley bows once more, as he ought, to gold, gold, gold, gold, bronze, bronze, bronze and brown. And now that he's feeling a little dizzy from all the bobbing up and down, he shuffles slowly down to one end of the line. Or maybe it's just nerves that are putting that shake in his step. >From the Sands, Rivka shuffles onto the sands nervously upon Muireann's call, and bows to all the dragons and their riders respectively before her feet lift involuntarily from heat...so soon! >From the Sands, Freand slinks in quietly remembering the heat and blistering of his feet from yesterday. Stopping he offers an elegant Aspen bow to Queens, lifemates and consorts. >From the Sands, Priscila leaps sedately onto the sands from the entrance. >From the Sands, Ailheen walks in quietly, spotting the dragons, she bows down before each one before heading to her place. >From the Sands, Saran walks onto the sands from the entrance. >From the Sands, Fairelly bounces in lightly, her pixie curls jumping in time with her movement. A bow is given again to each dam and sire, but sadly there's no Mino to latch onto. Tenneba materializes out of thin air. >From the Sands, Gryphynn bounces happily as he walks onto the sands from the entrance. >From the Sands, Mishia comes to attention as she gains a firm step, and bows to the dragons, and salutes their riders properly. >From the Sands, Saran rocks back on his heels as the scorching sands remind him his feet are not best pleased with him...standing still barely long enough he offers each queen a low bow before moving with the group as a whole to await the eggs. >From the Sands, Up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down. Priscila has had /enough/ of the bowing. Having finished with the courtesies, she goes off into a corner, leaning against a fellow Candidate. Zzzzz... >From the Sands, Gryphynn slips nervously out onto the sands, wincing a little as he walks. He bows to the dragons and thier riders and winces some more as he moves to take his place with the other candidates. >From the Sands, Bradley is here though, and he steps up next to the pixie-curled girl, ever the gentleman, he is. He offers a toothy grin. "How are you holding up, Fair?" Kitiana has connected. >From the Sands, Rivka lifts her hand to her mouth as if to start chewing on her fingernails, or some such sign of nervousness before frowning, and clenching her hands to her side with a smile. A wink is given to her fellow candidates while they await the first of the days hatchlings to arrive. Tenneba watches anxiously, glad to be back at the weyr, nervous for her friends. Oh, and her dear little apprentice... She takes a seat near the front. >From the Sands, Fairelly likes that grin, all those shining teeth. "I dinna get eaten sa far," she trembles out. Not eaten is a good thing, right? How can she be Pern's first dentist if the last teeth she sees belong to a large dragon. >From the Sands, Rolling Ocean Egg rocks and bobs with the motions of unseen waves. >From the Sands, Sabria shoos Candidates closer to the eggs. "They're beginning again. Look sharply now, don't get in the dragonet's way, unless it's coming for you of course." She winks and gives the shy ones a push. So many candidates still! >From the Sands, Freand shuffles already blistering feet as he wanders closer to the front yet not too close until the motion of the ocean egg catches his eye and drags him closer still. With the sands so much less crowded at least he can see he eggs a little today. >From the Sands, Gryphynn winces a little, his blistered feet, though they have been taken care of, starting to hurt again under the heat. He smiles and heads closer, slipping into the remaining crowd of candidates and watching the eggs. >From the Sands, Rukar scoots closer, and starts jumping from foot to foot at a more rapid pace, not just from heat, but also from nervousness... >From the Sands, Rivka stumbles forward nearer the eggs, and watches one rock, and wave, her eyes fastened to it. "Oooh, would you look at that" she whispers. As if she didn't see it up close yesterday too. >From the Sands, Ailheen raises one foot and then the other, wincing at her already aching feet. She spots the egg and stops suddenly as she sees the first one begin to move. ] >From the Sands, Mishia smiles and nods as she weaves over to Grpyhynn and taking his hand gently. "Good luck, Gryph.. I'm counting on ya." >From the Sands, Arial stands back from the crowd, her once lush hair plastered to her scalp from standing on the Sands so long. She doesn't know how the weyrwomen can stand it day after day. >From the Sands, Bradley nods, taking a long step closer to the nearest egg, then stopping and waiting for Fairelly to follow. At least the crowds have thinned somewhat since last night; he can see the eggs this time, anyway. Kitiana leans over and whoops for her friends. Mau lifts off and makes for a more stable perch. Kitiana cheers for Rivka and Gryphynn. Rowena looks around and spies Tenne close by. "Tenne how are you?" >From the Sands, Gryphynn takes Mishia's hand and smiles, "Luck to you too." he says with a smile. >From the Sands, The, ah, victim of Priscila slowly slides away. /He/ is going to get closer to the eggs. As for the vintner, she nearly thumps to the ground. "Huh?" Rule number #284: Never fall asleep on the Sands. >From the Sands, Fairelly shivers lightly, the tremors running up and down her slight frame, "Ye canna be meanin' ta step closer," she hisses at the other candidate. "Tis certain doom." Torin leans over the rail and watches the happenings below. Kvelti materializes out of thin air. >From the Sands, Saran chuckles as he slips in between two girls, "Ye'll protect me, won't ye?" he teases with a wink as he shifts uncomfortably from foot to foot...a quick hug as one teases him back, "Best of luck sweets." before eyes twist to study the rocking eggs. >From the Sands, Rolling Ocean Egg bobs along contentedly, at home in the water. Up, down, up, down, up... getting a headache yet? Tenneba smiles happily at Rowena. "Shards, it's been forever! How /are/ you, Row? I'm fine, fine! Trying to find a suitable time and place for the handfasting and all!" Her blue eyes sparkle and her color is high with happiness, and /heat/! >From the Sands, Mishia smiles. "Nah.. keep it.. You need all the luck wehave." >From the Sands, Bradley grins at Fairelly. "Yeah, probably." But he doesn't seem over-concerned. "But the dragonets'll have to get through them over there first." He points at a cluster of three very rotund, fair-haired lads. Cousins, if he remembers right. >From the Sands, Computer M*ing Egg catches motion and twists more wiggling and turning enough to make a stomach churn... >From the Sands, Ailheen takes her eyes away from the egg and smiles to all of her fellow candidates. She returns her gaze to the eggs and watches as another one begins to move. Rowena's smile only hints at sadness. "I'm so happy for ya Tenne. I'll be to yer handfasting for sure." >From the Sands, Mishia looks at them, and rolls her eyes.. or is it her stomach? Can't be said. She squeezes Gryph's hand gently. >From the Sands, Gryphynn shakes his head at Mishia as they begin thier arguement, "You need just as much luck." he says to her with a grin and points as yet another egg starts to move. >From the Sands, Rivka watches, and watches, her expression too intent before she just wrinkles her nose, and shuffles from foot to foot with a somewhat pained expression. "I shouldna had all that juice before coming out...I think I'm getting seasick!" she jokes to the candidate beside her. Iona blinks and sits forward "Here we go again!" >From the Sands, Fairelly eyes the cousins curiously, "Aye, mayhap they be enough." But if their not, Elly's throwing Bradley to the wolves-- erm dragonets first! >From the Sands, Rukar watches, watches, and watches some more as the eggs start wobbling again. He makes his way to Mishia's side, and grasps her hand to signify his presence. >From the Sands, Tsunami comes suddenly, Rolling Ocean Egg appears to rise, ripple then shatter asunder, waves breaching the shore as it spews a treasure from the depths onto the sands, the sleek, rippling form of Ishmael Baby Dragonet. High pitched squeals and clicks ripple outward in widening wonder. >From the Sands, Call Me Ishmael Dragonet >From the Sands, Slick blue of ocean's depth co-mingles with the paler hue of distant horizon, a bold patterning of orca's light belly and dark back that streamline into torpedo lethality. His blunt, oversized head holds eyes that gleam with intelligence, then blends through short neck into powerful chest. Talons that curve inwards resemble sharks serrated teeth; a deadly curve of pristine ivory. Wings crest on either side, as inevitable as the incoming tide, waves of oceanic might, echoed by the slap of his thick tail striking the sands. Tenneba's eyes catch sight of Kvelti, and her grin widens, if possible. "Kvelti!" She hisses, trying to be heard without yelling. She hasn't seen her in forever, either! How she misses the weyr sometimes....though she'd not give up her post for anything. >From the Sands, Mishia chuckles a bit. "Gryph, Believe me, You need this.. there's always later for me." >From the Sands, Freand inches closer watching eggs shimmer and shift. Is that what it looked like last time. Jumping back he trips and ends up on his pratt as blue dragonet breaches from the egg he was eyeing. Wooo that was /fast/!!1 >From the Sands, Rukar's eys widen as he sees the dragonet, "He's beautifull, like them all." Lyssala materializes out of thin air. >From the Sands, Muireann sighs deeply. Another blue first after the lull. She'll owe 'Raz even more marks now. But any birth is a good sign, so she pats Aerinth's shoulder dutifully. He's lovely. Kitiana comes back to sit by Iona. Leaning forward, she sees her friend J'na on the Sands. She waves to her, hoping that she might see her. Kvelti carefully minces her way through the watchers and takes up a seat by Tenneba. "Oh Tenne! I'm so glad to see you here!" she beams. "Oh lassie, you've surely come up in the world 'aven't ye?" Iona grins "Oh, I hope Rivka makes it!!! Are you excited?" >From the Sands, Saran takes a step back as the first egg of the second batch breaks...and shatters. "Uhm, ladies first?" he offers gallantly, half carrying the smaller of the two girls...mincing awkwardly as the sands heat hits them far faster today. >From the Sands, Rivka ohs, her eyes wide with wonder as a dragonet breaks free from the confines of his shell. Deep breath is taken as she prepares to bolt out of the way of any stampeders. >From the Sands, Gryphynn claps as he sees the first egg hatch, and reveal a blue. He blushes as he realizes he just slapped Mishia's hand as he clapped, "Na ya need it too." he grins, not giving up, as he turns to watch the dragon, but yet turning to the egg that has always called to him. Kitiana grins at Iona, eyes sparkling. "You bet! Rivka and Gryphynn, I hope for both!" >From the Sands, Sabria chuckles softly. "It appears the blues have been making quite an effort this clutch. Er, clutches." She still seems slightly perturbed by all these eggs. And all these dragonets! How will the Weyr ever feed them all?? >From the Sands, Ailheen looks at the blue, wringing her hands nervously, he's definately a beauty. She glances up at the other egg for just a second to see if it's still rocking, then returns to the blue. >From the Sands, K'pan has connected. Iona nods "Me too, I had some blistered feet to treat last night, but they'll all be in good shape today." >From the Sands, Hilare walks onto the sands from the entrance. >From the Sands, Call Me Ishmael Dragonet pauses, his large head looking at all four dams and sires, way, way, way up. A loud creel is emitted, piecing in its frequency and yet mellow in its tone and the melody that follows can be described as nothing if not pleasing in its uniqueness. >From the Sands, Hilare has disconnected. >From the Sands, Mishia looks at the blue, smiling a bit. "Well, Let's put it this way, if you impress, I'll have my first drink with you and Jan. if I do, you decide." Pointing excitedly to the blue dragonet, Kitiana exclaims, "Ohh! He can /sing/!" >From the Sands, Freand crabwalks backward eyes glued to the blue as he tries to get to his feet Beutiful blue... is his first thought his second his how much larger baby dragonets are than baby runners. Calia materializes out of thin air. Iona grins "Well, he is blue after all. I hope a harper lad gets him." Tenneba blinks and blows through her lips, nodding to Kvelti, then shaking her head at the wonder of it. "You could say that, Kvelti." She watches the dragonet on the sands, wondering who will be chosen, and crossing her fingers for her friends who want them so. >From the Sands, Rivka nudges the tall Igenite candidate to her left, "Whaddya think of /that/?" a pleased expression on her face for the beautiful crooning. >From the Sands, Fairelly glances at the blue, cocking her head at the moise emitted. "Tis a strange sound, aye, Bradley," she comments off-handedly to her last fail-safe between the dragonets and her. Torin turns as Calia heads into the galleries and offers a wave from her position leaning over the rail. Calia wanders in and looks around for a place to sit quietly, she sees Torin and immediately moves to sit bye her. >From the Sands, Gryphynn smiles and shakes her hand and then squeezes a little, "Deal, Mishia, now lets root for us all." he says and turns, "Go candidates!" he chants and then turns back to the blue and his musical egg. >From the Sands, Sabria sighs softly to K'pan. "Do you think they'll finally all come out now?" >From the Sands, Elisandra has connected. >From the Sands, K'pan leans against Korinth as he watches the actions of Dragonetes and Candidates. "I certainly hope so...not sure I can survive another day!" >From the Sands, Mishia chuckles and nods. "Aye, Gryph.. Good luck everyone." >From the Sands, Computer M*ing Egg lurks as best as any egg can. It's ripples gently, secretively, not yet ready to reveal the face behind the screen. >From the Sands, "He's blue." Priscila eyes the dragonet warily. "Needs more purple." Brekka materializes out of thin air. >From the Sands, Rukar slightly cups his ears at the peircing sound of the blue. >From the Sands, Ailheen listens to the dragons creeling, finally managing to stop wringing her hands. Kitiana waves to her friend Brekka. "Hi! Come on over!" >From the Sands, Bradley nods, wincing at the creel. "Yeah. And loud." Brekka wends her way down to sit by Kitiana with a smile and wave "Hi Kiti!." she sits down and her eyes go immediately to the sands >From the Sands, Sabria nods back to him. "Aye, I think this child." She pauses to pat her rotund belly, "Is reluctant to come out in all this heat. But I'm overdue as it is. I'll be glad to finally give birth." she sighs. Kitiana points out the blue dragonet to her friend. "He can /sing/!" she says excitedly. >From the Sands, Rivka chews on her lower lip, and steps slightly behind that Igenite. Let him get bowled over ;> A faint wince appears, and is qiockly smothered while she watches, not wanting to miss a thing. You overhear Calia whisper"... ... ... ... ... missed?"" to Torin. >From the Sands, K'pan gives a soft chuckle, "Can understand the reluctance, I"d not want to be birthed on these sands either...I'm sure the child will arrive in due time." >From the Sands, K'pan gives a soft chuckle, "Can understand the reluctance, I"d not want to be birthed on these sands either...I'm sure the child will arrive in due time." >From the Sands, Call Me Ishmael Dragonet turns his attention from his numerous and illustrious parents and returns his attention to the sea of white before him. Like Lysander swimming to Hero, he approaches the daunting task before him with tremendous courage. Out there is the one who will free his soul. Brekka grins at Kiti "No really?" Torin shrugs and points to the blue hatchling. "Just that one hatching." A couple of the eggs have rocked, but that's about it. >From the Sands, Freand manages to make it to his feet still backing up his eyes trying to look around the blue to see who the little dragonet will choose. Finally finding his voice he looks around at his fellow sufferers. "They didn't look so /big/ yesterday with all the other candidates in the way." Iona elbow's Kit "Look at how far gone Sabria is. I surely hope she doesn't go into labor during the hatching." Kvelti leans over to Tenneba and whispers, "Any other healers out there tonight? Oh, never mind. That be Rivka down there isn't it?" Kitiana rolls her eyes at Iona's comment. "Oh shards! Don't even /think/ it!" Iona leans towards Kvelti "Well, I'm here, I'm the Weyrhealer" She smiles. >From the Sands, Saran winces as feet get trod upon...two slight girls are a weight no matter what on his sore little toes..."Easy." he steadies one as she she stumbles, "Watch the blue, who will he chose?" he tries to distract. Calia nods and her eyes look at her friend then back to the sands "You okay?" >From the Sands, Rivka glances over at Freand, having barely heard him, and grins wiping sweat from her forhead idly with the back of a hand "Aye" is all she says in agreeance, spotting another moving egg. Torin shrugs. "It's not the same from up here once you've been down there." >From the Sands, Mishia looks at the eggs and the hatchlings emerging thereof. "Whatever the outcome, this has changed me in a way I never thought..." Lanera materializes out of thin air. Rowena leans forward trying to draw Tenne's attention to the blue. "Another blue that shardling brother of mine always picks them dead on," Tenneba grins as she overhears Sabria, appraising her rounded bulk with a practiced eye. "I think Rivka...Janna impressed last night. Fairelly is there as well!" she offers to Kvelti. Lyssala has disconnected. >From the Sands, Ailheen nods, big? Yes, very big. She glances from the Blue to the eggs and back to the Blue again, watching and waiting. Kvelti turns her head and grins over at Iona. "Oh! I'd not seen you there, but I did mean down on the Sands instead." >From the Sands, Rukar hops some more, eyes trying to keep track of the daunting blue coasting through the candidates. Bronwyn steps in from the entance, and makes her way down to the group of heeelers, smiling and nodding a greeting to them all. Iona chuckles softly "I bet I can vault the rail and be there in no time, dragons or no if she starts to go into labor." >From the Sands, K'pan shifting his wieght from foot to foot he leans more into his lifemate, needing the support for the moment. Lanera walks in, a little out of breath- also looking a little miffed that she's missed some of the action. Iona smiles and pats a seat for Bronwyn. Kitiana sees Bronwyn coming down to the group. Scooting aside, she makes room. "Hi Bronwyn!" Tenneba looks at the blue, and then back to Rowena. "He knew?" She asks, trying to make sense of it. Her attention is caught by Bronwyn's entrance. "Hello, there, Bron!" Bronwyn grins, settling herself down by Iona and Kitiana, "How's it been going? Anyone impress?" >From the Sands, Freand watches the blue as well.. his mind also wondering who he blue will harpoon with that tail as he wobbles and staggers about looking for his chosen mate. >From the Sands, Gryphynn smiles, "He is an adorable blue, ain't he Mishia?" he says and then points, "look at that." His finger points to an egg that hatches a brown dragon that heads right for a young boy, once Hranan now H'an and calls out, "His name is Soloth." "Way to go," Gryphynn calls. Calia waves at Lanera and scoots over for her to sit down Ranra ascends the staircase from the Hatching Grounds. Iona nope "not this round, but it will be... look Gryph just impressed the blue!!!!" Kitiana smiles at Bronwyn. "J'na did yesterday." >From the Sands, Mishia chuckles softly. "Looks like that'll be a rather interesting pairing.." She nods. "That he is.." >From the Sands, Blue, green, green, blue pop out of the respective eggs. Duck, duck, goose... you're it, they all choose their lifemates and Arial can't help but smile nostalgicallly as she leads the new pairs away. Kvelti looks down at the Sands, trying to follow Iona's gaze. "Who? Where?" Iona sighs "Nope, I thought so , but I guess not." Ranra takes a seat close to where she was sitting last time, and tries to focus on what's going on. Brekka bounces and yells "Way to go Gryphynn! Bronwyn shakes her head, "And I missed it...hadd a little scare at the Weyr, we thought a girl had come down with the flu, but she's allright now...What about Rivka?" Kitiana shakes her head. "Not yet." >From the Sands, Perspiration beads on Brad's forehead and he swipes at it impatiently. His red hair is sweat-dark and heat-slickened and he mutters uncomfortably to 'Elly. "Jays! I wish the eggs could hatch outside somewhere where it's not so hot!" Torin turns at the sound of Bronwyn's voice, concern coloring it. "Really? Who, Bron?" Brekka nods at Kitiana and turns a faint pink Iona is blushing along with Brekka. "Sorry, Brekka, I got so caught up I thought he had." >From the Sands, Marvelous Musical Egg woggles in symphonic tones almost a paen of delight in the heat of the sands and the eyes this proud little egg are all on itself. Bronwyn hms, "Her name's Cadia, Torin, she's about 5, I think... >From the Sands, Call Me Ishmael Dragonet lolls to the right and then to the left, still not having gained his land legs. He dashes into the sea of white, looking for that special spark. That buried treasure, the one who'll claim his heart and set him free. Brekka smiles at Iona and nods "S'okay Torin sighs. "She's okay though, right?" Ranra's palms are starting to sweat again. Here we go again... another emotional ride to the red star and back... Brekka elbows kitiana "That's my favorite! I hope Gryphynn impresses it! >From the Sands, Saran follows much pointing from the candidates as pairings are made, and peoples fates sealed...A hoarse yell as a fellow weaver makes a match, dragonets hide blurring the lines between brown and bronze. Bronwyn nods emphatically "Oh yes, and I haven't noticed anyone else with symptoms, so it's all for the good!" Kitiana grins at her friend. "Me too! That's the one that sings!" Brekka grins at Kitiana "Why wouldn't It? Its harper blue!" Torin lets out a deep sigh of relief, nods and smiles at the healer,
then goes back to watching.
HERE I WAS KNOCKED OFF LINE, BUT I DON'T THINK I MISSED MUCH.
>From the Sands, Ailheen blinks as the blue decides to dash out. She lets out a small gasp and keeps her eyes fixed upon him for several minutes before she decides to tear them away and take a glance at the eggs. Calia murmurs Torin "I do hope Rukar impresses >From the Sands, Ah, there he is! Torpedos, locked on! Ready to fire, sir! Fire! And away he goes... a blue streak zooming for a lanky herder lad. Rowena sighs. "It brings back memories this." Yet there are no green on the sands to draw her eyes. Calia looks at Lanera and smiles "You? >From the Sands, Bradley shifts his weight again. Now he knows why this robe was left in the storage cavern. Being so long and heavy, it's positively roasting. "Yeah. Or maybe /in/ the lake even." Cause that would sure appeal to him right about now. Torin shrugs. "I'm hoping for Gryph, personally. With Janna Impressing and all..." LOST CONNECTION HERE AS WELL, AGAIN JUST BRIEFLY.
Calia yells "Way to go Journeyman Freand!!!" >From the Sands, Rukar grins, clapping. "Congrats Freand." Kvelti looks about the sands and frowns a little. "I had heard my half-sister Nikira was supposed to be down there too. Following in Kysha's foot steps I'd imagine, but I don't see her down there?" >From the Sands, First a crack, then a snap, and then a fizzle is heard. Is the computer breaking down, crashing perhaps? As if to confirm people's suspicions, Computer M*ing Egg trembles slightly then shakes violently, before splitting asunder with a loud *crash*. Is that smoke rising up from the revealed Bright Burnt Tyger Dragonet or just an optical illusion? >From the Sands, Bright Burnt Tyger Dragonet >From the Sands, Milky pistachio gleams palely from her hide, with sinuous stripes of darker jungle hues that lash across her powerful back, shoulders and tail. Her short neck repeats that pattern in more diffuse shades; silken camouflage for a huntress born, like the lines meshing over long graceful wings to form shielding forest. Her feline-shaped head is heavily fanged, with powerful jaws at odds with the intentional innocence of her fractalled gaze. What immortal hand or eye dare frame this dragonet's fearful symmetry? >From the Sands, Rivka watches the impression so close to her with a gasp of happiness, "Congratulations!" she cries out, torn between watching the pair, and then the next that she sees hatching. >From the Sands, Mishia nods and continues to dance slightly, watching the emerging dragonets. >From the Sands, Rukar look sat the beautiful green, and squeeses Mishia's hand, "She's... beautiful." >From the Sands, Ailheen manages a grin, she spots the blue go to Freand and calls out a congrats before turning and spotting the next hatcling arrive. Kitiana leans back. "Whoa! Look at /that/ one!" >From the Sands, Freand drops to his knees arms around a blue neck. "Willyeth his name is Willeyth." Lanera strides towards the indicated seat, and is overjoyed that a herder would Impress... now, the day would only be complete if another herder special to her would Impress. >From the Sands, K'pan smiles as another impression is made.. Brekka elbows Kiti "Look a green!" she smiles at Rowena and winks >From the Sands, Bright Burnt Tyger Dragonet stretches broadly, then begins to silently stalk toward the white-robes; but is it impression or lunch on her mind? Those fangs might make one wonder twice. Tenneba can't help but ooh at the lovely green. "Look at /that/ one!" She turns to Kvelti. "With all the folk and dragons and eggs, she could be there and you'd not even know it!" She is getting almost dizzy with all the activity on the sands. >From the Sands, Sabria rolls the name around in her mouth. "Willeyth. I wonder if that will make things difficult with W'ley?" she wonders, looking over at the other riders. >From the Sands, Fairelly peeks from behind her dragon shield, aka Bradley, just in time to see the loveliest of lovely greens hatch. "Ach, she be beautiful," she whispers under her breath, words falling short of what she really wants to say. Rowena sighs and nods as body tenses slightly forward. "Pretty one too." >From the Sands, K'pan shakes his head, "I don't think he'll mind dear..." Ranra looks at the newest hatchling, a green... her favorite color. She puts her head in her hands and looks around the sands. An Impression here... crying there. This is a wonderful night. >From the Sands, Arial blinks at Frean, or is it F'ree now? "Willyth? Well done!" Kvelti nods back. "Aye, that be true enough. I hope she's down there. I remember her as a youngling, would do her good to be out of the hold and on her own." >From the Sands, Marvelous Musical Egg shimmers and wobbles again as if seeking center stage to show off the beauty of it's song. A lure... a call to one who should hear it's siren's note. >From the Sands, Rukar certainly does notice the Music egg. It's got his attention. Yep. Iona grins as she looks at the Musical Egg "There, that ones for Gryph, I just know it!" >From the Sands, Rivka nudges the candidate in front of her, "Quite stepping on my toes!" she hisses, "They hurt enough as is", a glance outward confirming more hatchings with wonder. Eggs moving dizzily and capturing her attention without much difficulty. >From the Sands, Mishia smiles and squeezes the hands in hers gently, hoping the two make it. >From the Sands, Saran pauses to watch dragonet intently, looking a little dangerous that green is, "With luck she'll impress to a sweet girl, who can curb her appetite." he wonders absently. Sandals are flopping as he switches foot from foot...straps not nearly as tight as they were yesterday. >From the Sands, Ailheen watches the lovely green as she stalks out after her 'victim' She lets out a small gulp and keeps her eyes on the green. >From the Sands, Freand rises and carefully herds his new lifemate to the edge of the sands almost instinctively seeking one of the weryling staff. Herder he was but this... this one needs special attention. >From the Sands, Gryphynn barely acknowledges the hatchling that just arrived as he sees his egg, the musical egg. He squeezes Mishia's hand hoping the song from the egg is for him. Brekka grins and nods at Iona "I hope so! Iona crosses her fingers on both hands and murmurs "Go Gryph, Go Gryph!" Lanera grins to Calia what do you think of that musical egg? Who do you think it'll go to? A harper? Brekka begins to murmur "Go Gryph." Calia chuckles at Lanera "I don't know but it only makes sense, who knows how a dragon picks." >From the Sands, Fairelly shivers slightly and yet the green lure keeps her from ducking completely behind Bradley. "Ach, she be lookin' rather mean," she nudges poor Brad. "Ye'll be protectin' me, right?" >From the Sands, Mishia looks at the egg weaving and grins, knowing how much Gryph's been gazing at that very egg. Cindanna materializes out of thin air. Ranra smiles at the Harper Journeyman on the sands. "You can do it, Gryph. It's a harper egg... it has to go to a harper!" Rowena leans back. "Still none as beautiful as my own dear Ryath." Such single minded devotion in that. Ryath. The one true love of her life. Tenneba looks down at the two healer candidates, knowing one wants to be there and one does not...and hopes they each get what they desire. >From the Sands, Bright Burnt Tyger Dragonet stalks nearer, nearer. A scrawny red-head gets a long look, but then she passes him by. Surely there's something better in the white-robed herd. >From the Sands, Rukar's eyes flick to the green for just a moment, then flick back the eggs, all the while doing the sand dance... >From the Sands, Marvelous Musical Egg begins to crack... in tune of course... the song rising to a crescendo as lines race like notes gone mad across the straining shell. Cindanna practically careens into a group of smiths as she literally flies up the stairs. Eyes flick from those in the galleries, then to the sands, then back to those present. Panting, she murmurs to herself. "Find a seat, yes, definately." Scatter-brained today? Without a doubt. >From the Sands, With a burst of color and a loud hurrah, a shocked bronze makes his appearance into the world. After much debate he chooses a Harper lad and Arial leads the pair towards the sidelines with pride. Brekka leans forward intently watching the harper blue egg, she elbows Kitiana "Oh look!" >From the Sands, Ailheen continues to watch the green, finally managing to avert her eyes away from her for just a second, she watches as the Musical egg begins to crack. >From the Sands, Rivka pulls on the Igenite's hand. "She looks like she's stalking..not looking for a lifemate!" is exclaimed as she stares unbecomingly at the green. >From the Sands, Bradley snorts, eyes wary on /that/ green. "If that one comes near here, 'Elly, you'll be on your own, I'm afraid." He can see those fangs. So he's not the gallant gentleman she thought. So sue him. Miakoda materializes out of thin air. Ranra sees the entrance of Cinda, and waves to her- "Come here, you!" Her gaze is promptly returned to the green... that rather mean, but nice looking green. Doesn't that contradict itself? But who cares. >From the Sands, Priscila yawns, folding her arms across her chest. "Are they almost done yet?" /This/ scrawny redhead is tired of showing all of her freckles to the world. >From the Sands, Fairelly gulps as the green makes her rounds and suddenly the heat of the Sands is forgotten. It's a larger discomfort that ails her now... fear. Sweat trickles down her back, indicating it's path along her two-ply robe. Not me, not me, not me, she feverantly chants to herself. >From the Sands, Hilare has connected. >From the Sands, Saran sighs with relief as the girl rather intent on using his toes as extra padding gets picked off by a blue to his left..."Good riddidance...er I mean Good Luck." first part mumbled, but last part offered with a smile as she heads towards the growing crowd on the sidelines...now ifn the other one impresses soon, cloying perfume seems a little out of place on the sands, but another hug is given, "Your next." he hopes leaning down to encourage her. >From the Sands, F'ree settles down in the lee of the sands stroking blue hide with wonder. His Willeyth... his and now free of that awful shell. Brekka looks at the green for a minute and whispers to Kiti "I think she is lovely." >From the Sands, Gryphynn hears the crack, "here it comes," he says squeezing Mishia's hand harder. "Will it?" Kitiana replies to Brekka. "Yes, she is." >From the Sands, Marvelous Musical Egg rocks again... the music getting louder inside the shell. It promises to rise to a new height with only a bar or two more. Cindanna elbows past a few seacrafters to find herself beside her fellow apprentice. "What'd I miss, Ran?" she gasps, shoving her hair back into place and patting it down. Poor girl looks like she's been through a typhoon -- that or a hastily concocted dragonride. Brekka grins at Kiti "I does sing and it sounds wonderful!!!!" >From the Sands, Mishia nods and squeezes a bit more. "You'll make it, Gryph.. I'll bet you my tool collection you'll make it..." Audacious bet, but she's puttin her hopes on this harper, hoping for him. >From the Sands, Dreary Rainy Day Egg trembles, a flash of brightness across it's dismal shell. And is still once more as the rains hold off a little while longer. >From the Sands, K'pan staightens up and watches the activities a bit more closely, still amazed to find himself here again on the sands but this time in a different role. >From the Sands, F'ree has disconnected. >From the Sands, Hilare hurries in, robe askew. "Shards! They're hatching!" He finds a place in the massive throng of Candidates. Late. Well it serves him right for falling asleep. MiakodaOAOAOAOAOBlook@more Iona giggles "Sometimes you just want to get a hammer and help the little ones out of those shells." OOC: Rhaine blinks. >From the Sands, Mishia blinks as she sees her own favorite tremble, trembling a bit herself. But she keeps her concentration on Gryph. OOC: Kitiana says "HUH?" >From the Sands, Gryphynn sways to the tune that calls to him, "Okay," is it calling him, What's the egg hiding. >From the Sands, Rivka fidgets with the hem of her robe idly, her feet lifted at a more hurried pace as the hot sands begin to take their toll again, even earlier then before. OOC: Miakoda blahs and doesn't know hwow that happened. sorry ;p Ranra sighs, "Well, Freand Impressed, but I think he's a herder, and who else? Oh, the Musical egg- you know that one that Gryph was looking at last night? It's about to go, too." Attention's gone back to the green. Brekka waves at Cindanna "Hi Cindanna Brekka sends Arian winging off her shoulder. >From the Sands, Bright Burnt Tyger Dragonet passes three large lads; oh so tempting too, plump and juicy. But not what she really craves right now. She nears two Candidates, slightly separated from the rest - a young man and a curly-haired girl. Intriguing, indeed... Trevor materializes out of thin air. Cindanna turns at the call of her name and smiles, waving. "Hey, Breks!" she calls before focusing curious eyes on the sands. "That's the musical egg?" she wonders aloud, pointing to the very one with a grin. "T'would be, since it's the loud one." >From the Sands, Bradley blinks and shuffles back a step as the green approaches. She's a scary one, she is. Miakoda shoves past a rather large man having a chat with hesis nearest neighbors and squeezes into a into a spot between a farmer and a weaver. Not the best of views, but oh well. Iona grins "Hey, Trevor, come sit with us healers!" >From the Sands, Sabria fans herself, then clutches at K'pan's arm. The baby's coming! Nope! Just kidding! It's just Sabby getting misty eyed as she watches yet another pair Impress and stand there looking into each other's eyes with such intense joy. ;) >From the Sands, Fairelly gulps, "Be that tha preditory green comin' our way," she asks Bradley, pleading desperately to the boy that the answer be nay. As he steps back, he leaves her to the mercies of the dragonets. "Traitor," she hisses, desperately looking for somewhere else to hide. Trevor shuffles in, having been lost for many an hour, and goes in the direction of Iona's familiar voice. He sits down stiffly beside her and the other Healers, looking around to figure out exactly what's going on. Tenneba smiles benevolently as another apprentice joins them. "Hello there, Trevor." Ranra nods. "It is- I think it will go to a harper. A harper deserves such a musical egg- or dragonet, really." >From the Sands, Rivka keeps herself behind that Igen lad, he's tall and safe, and probably half dead from heat so it's not like he minds right? "Wonder who she's gonna eat..I mean...impress to" >From the Sands, Marvelous Musical Egg pulls the melody close seeming to implode as the song rises to dance off the ceiling high overhead. >From the Sands, The twisting dance of colours finally becomes too much for Marvelous Musical Egg's heat-brittle shell. Talons from within score the score without; marking each measure with the occupant's own tune. Then, with a rough bugling to signal his entry; his own triumphant fanfare, Raucous Graffiti Dragonet bursts onto the sands. >From the Sands, Raucous Graffiti Dragonet >From the Sands, Sweeping lines and clashing clamour of bronzen hues combine in this dragonet's overblown grandeur. Garish shades of brass collect over sinewy shoulders to flow downwards in golden rivulets over meaty haunches and flairing tail. Grandiose wings, slick-sailed and far too large, are marked with tawdry gleams of blue and cerise, raffishly fletched in verdigris edging. His thickly arched neck is ridged in foxy russet, topped by a handsome head who's sly eyes perch in lazy self-admiration over a romanesque muzzle. >From the Sands, Ailheen lifts one foot and then the other, her eyes still fixed upon the green. She watches quietly, not one sound escaping her lips. >From the Sands, K'pan is startled for a moment as Sabria clutches his arm with pincer like strength...no it can't be! A soft whoosh escapes his lips as he realizes that Sabria isn't about to give birth on the sands! Rhaine gasps softly at the bronze beauty on the sands below. Iona gasps "It's a bronze!!! Ohhhh!!" >From the Sands, Mishia grins and squeezes. "A bronze, Gryph!" She almost shouts. Rowena sighs. Another shardling bronze to break hearts. >From the Sands, Rukar wows as he sees a beautifull bronze pop out of the music egg, "That one's Beautifull!" Bronwyn nods, leaning forward to get a better look, "Wow...a bronze..." Brekka gasps "Oh Kiti!!!!!! A Bronze!!!!!!" she begins to bounce up and down in excitement "Go Gryphynn! Cindanna gasps as the the egg the two were speaking of bursts. "Oh, Ran! It's a bronze, and a beauty at that. It /must/ go to a harper, it must!" She fairly hops up and down in excitement and anticipation. >From the Sands, Saran pauses to swipe at his brow...sweat coming freely now as heat begins to make itself known...eyes drift around to fellow candidates...watching slack-jawed gazes on eggs and dragonets...oh he should be doing the same things... Footing shifting awkwardly as he takes a step away from clinging miss, attached to his arm, she follows along. Iona tries to send any message she can, thinking hard at the Bronze picturing Gryphynn. But she knows it's just wishful thinking to be able to influence it. Lanera grins as a bronze emerges on the sands. She shouts, "Go Rukar!" and almost sands to cheer before realising that that would just /not/ do at a hatching. Kitiana leans forward, looking intently down at the sands. "A bronze. Wow." Seli materializes out of thin air. >From the Sands, Rivka widens her eyes at the sight of bronze, an indulgen grin given at the sight. "Bet you wouldn't mind that one huh" is directed, to who else? Igenboy. >From the Sands, A'razi materializes out of thin air. Miakoda hears a nearby murmer about a bronze, and sriggles this way and that. "Hey you..." The insult is lost on the back of the lady in front of her, who's risen to her feet in the excitement. >From the Sands, Gryphynn gasps in awe as the egg, his favorite, hatches revealing a bronze Could this be the one that was calling to him? "It's a bronze," he says to Mishia even though she just said it. >From the Sands, Mishia chuckles and almost hugs him. "Come on, Gryph.. He has to be yours.." She jokes feebly. "My wood tools are riding on this..." Ranra's lips curve into a smile as she looks at the newest arrival. A bronze, and a handsome one, at that. She keeps her eyes plastered on the green, but glances every once in a while to look at the enchanting bronze. Tenneba leans forward, watching wide eyed all the hubub on the sands...an eye steals to Sabria, watching her carefully, calculating dates in her head. >From the Sands, Raucous Graffiti Dragonet wobbles only slightly before righting himself then takes careful, dignified steps out of his shell as his romanesque muzzle begins to pick over the white robed figures on the sands. This one? That? Hmmmm... >From the Sands, Bradley leaves 'Elly to her fate. After all, this new-hatched bronze takes some staring at. "Not bad... not bad..." He mutters, half to the frightened girl, half to himself. Iona nudges Tenneba "Guess I'd better follow her around with a basket." She chuckles. >From the Sands, Tam walks slowly, introspectively, onto the sands from the entrance. >From the Sands, Hilare shifts his weight, lifting each foot in turn a few inches from the sands' surface to provide a momentary respite. Though specially made sandals protect him from the worst of the discomfort, the cavern floor is still too hot to stand in one position for long. Kitiana sends Mau winging off her shoulder. Tenneba nods to Iona with a chuckle. "I should think so...Isn't she past dates a bit?" And she looks enormous! >From the Sands, Gryphynn watches the magnificent bronze hatchling, bouncing up and down on his sore feet, though he can't feel it. "Is he coming this way?" Calia murmurs for Rukar "Come on Rukar Iona nods to Tenneba "So the records say. She hasn't been to see me for a checkup tho." Kitiana hisses at Mau. "Come on back here! Don't be bothering them!" >From the Sands, Tam comes running onto the sands, looking a bit disheveled. "Shards!" she mutters aloud as she makes her way towards the other riders. Brekka picks up Arian. >From the Sands, Elisandra is unusually quiet, leaning against's Zivath's gleaming shoulder. A faint smile is offered to Tam. Iona returns her attention to the sands and her silent rooting for Gryph and the Bronze. >From the Sands, Mishia smiles. "I think so..." She has completely ignored her slowly blistering feet in hopes that Gryph makes it. "Come on.. Come to him.." >From the Sands, Bright Burnt Tyger Dragonet pauses there, before Fairelly; that quaking girl may be scared now, but she looks the sort who could learn to put her head in the Tyger's mouth. And so she chooses, eyes suddenly aswirl with the dusky blue-green of Impression. Brekka giggles at Kitiana "Oh dear. >From the Sands, K'pan smiles as he watches Tam rushing in...and gives her a welcoming wave. Cindanna moves to Ranra's other side, bouncing up and down to see over the head of a taller, Fortian man. She delicately /shoves/ him out of the way and focuses every once of attention on the bronze. Green? There's a green out there? She hadn't noticed -- that bronze is an attention-grabber. Trevor whispers "Who're we rooting for?" to you. Mau flutters to land beside Kitiana, chirriping indignatly. >From the Sands, Saran grins, trying to maintain his good humor as he catches sight of candies and riders, rushing around as eggs took them unaware... Iona oooohs "That scary one wants Fairelly I think. She's looking at her a lot." Kitiana smooths Mau's wings, trying to keep him quiet. >From the Sands, Sabria grins to the brown rider. "They snuck up on us. Most of the Candidates were lallying in the entranceway, but there are still a few straggling in." You whispered "Fairelly and Rivka and Gryphynn." to Trevor. Brekka smiles at Kiti as she scritches Arian gently "Oh I like that bronze Pleaaaaasee see Gryphynn!" Tenneba looks stricken. "Not Fairelly...I want that one back!" And she wants to come back, too! *sniff* >From the Sands, Rukar feels like fainting as he sees the bronze, He vitually uses a death grip on Mishia's hand, causing her hand to tremble with his vibrations... >From the Sands, A'razi strolls over to Sabria and sighs. "We really must work out a better warning system." Trevor grins in thanks to Iona and turns his attention back to the Sands, not bothering to ask which is which. >From the Sands, F'airy looks deep into the lovely greens eyes, tears marking her own. "Tooth, she be sayin' that she be Tooth," she cries out joyously. >From the Sands, Tam attempts to push back flying hair. She returns K'pan's wave, spring a quick glance to Elisa, and then makes her way to Timoth who also croons a welcome. Or is it a reprimand? ;-) She glances over at the weyrwoman and nods her head with a wry smile. "Tell me about it! >From the Sands, Rivka sees Tam rush in, and then Fairelly and the green impress to one another. Another hearty congratulations is given..Is that releif too? She looks out from behind her 'protection' again. >From the Sands, Raucous Graffiti Dragonet twists his neck in outrage. Not Bad! He is /perfect/. Eyes look around as he noses closer to the grinner who seems to feel above it all, standing gawking in the midst of all the mayhem. >From the Sands, Sabria smiles to the Weyrsecond. "You'd think that the dragons humming fit to make the walls shake would be enough of one though?" Tenneba slumps back. Darn. Lost another one. Ranra's expression turns into a full blown grin as the green chooses that Fairelly- now F'airy, apparently. >From the Sands, Arial smiles to the pair, F'airy finally finding her Tooth. "Come this way please," she beckons to the new pair. >From the Sands, Zivath peers at her clutchmate's rider. Better warning system? Can't get a better looking one than herself. "He's talking about /all/ of you, love." *snort* >From the Sands, Bradley tears his gaze from the bronze long enough to whoop for his friend. "Hey 'Elly... I mean F'airy! Congratulations!" Cheoah ascends the staircase from the Hatching Grounds. Cheoah walks in and sits beside Calia... >From the Sands, Ailheen smiles and watches the new pair being lead off the sands, "Congrats F'airy!" She calls. >From the Sands, Rukar waves, "Congrats!" Calia uh ohs and looks at Tenneba "Sorry Tenn." Rowena drops head in hands unable to see which poor lad becomes the victim of the bronze behmoth prancing around the sands. >From the Sands, A'razi raises an eyebrow at Sabria. "Aye, unless your dragon was too busy dunking you to listen." Now he wisely changes the subject. "D'ya think the rest will Hatch out today, then?" >From the Sands, Saran calls his congrats to F'airy and her Tooth with a whoop...she'll be able to sweeten that green's disposition. >From the Sands, F'airy smiles all around as she makes her way to the sidelines, Tooth being her first preoccupation. Calia smiles at Che "Hey Che." >From the Sands, F'airy has disconnected. >From the Sands, Gypsy Dance Egg's surface begins to shimmy, bright colors winking playfully as the dancer begins to dance. >From the Sands, Bradley sneaks a second look at the bronze. Those wings are so... original. If gaudy. He scrubs a hand through his hair. So many others though - dragonets and candidates both. >From the Sands, Gryphynn watches the bronze, is it coming this way? he turns and smiles as a green impresses to his right, but then looks back to the bronze >From the Sands, Mishia grins. snug arial >From the Sands, Sabria nods again to A'razi. "I hope so, I daren't spend too much time longer on the Sands myself. >From the Sands, OOC: Mishia says "Oops." Cindanna leans over the railing, trying to get the best view possible in the crowded stands. Another fellow gets a /shove/ and she has officially found the perfect spot. With that, she slips into utter silence and just watches, rapt. >From the Sands, Arial has disconnected. Brekka watches the bronze intently "Oh Kiti I hope he chooses Gryphynn! >From the Sands, Gryphynn bites his lip as he seems to think that the bronze is heading for someone else. He looks to see who it could be. Iona watches the bronze, silently, well, quietly repeating Gryphynn's name over and over. >From the Sands, Hidden Waterfall Egg wobbles as if the force of water pouring down across the designs of it's shell have been gradually wearing it away and now may become too much. Calia smiles and nudges Lanera "See the one that looks like it has had water running over it the one wobbling? Thats my favorite!" Getting up, Kitiana returns to the rail. Leaning over, she roots loudly for Gryphynn and Rivka. "WHOOOHOOO!" >From the Sands, Saran loosens the girls grasp on his robe...he finally got it white. Don't want it mused up with hand prints. >From the Sands, Rivka swings her head around sharply as she catches sight of a waterfall egg moving. Yah, right. Careful not to look hopeful, she watche sthe rest of the hatchlings looks for lifemates. Shuffle. Shuffle. Cheoah grins at Calia.. "So..whatcha think its gonna be?" Brekka chants quietly to herself "Go Gryphynn, Go Gryphynn!" >From the Sands, Lissette slinks onto the sands from the entrance. >From the Sands, Ailheen winces as the sand burns her feet, starting to lift each foot up again. She keeps her eyes on the moving eggs, just watching calmly now. >From the Sands, Lissette comes in looking flushed. With obvious chagrin, she bows to the queens and their riders as well as the male dragons and their riders, waving at one in particular. Calia grins back and shrugs "no Idea," she chuckles '"I'd guess a blue from the shell but i'm probably not right." >From the Sands, Mishia looks at the dragon as it wanders, hoping it comes toward Gryphynn with everything she has.. Cheoah says, "How is Rukar doing?" >From the Sands, Hilare brushes back long hair from his face, grimacing at the sweat that slicks his forehead. "Shards it's hot." Maybe he'll shave it all off after the hatching. Or most of it, anyway. Calia shakes her head "No impression yet but there are still chances." Calia grins >From the Sands, Rukar plops down onto the sands, folding his feat Indian style. At least his feet won't be the soul object of torture, now. >From the Sands, Gryphynn gives up a little on the bronze as he notices one of the other eggs moving. It was one that he had touched, but not the favorite. His gaze does drift back the bronze and he squeezes Mishia's hand. Cheoah nods..he smiles.. "He'll impress one..I know it >From the Sands, Lissette winks saucily at Tam before running off to join the other candidates, ouching as she steps on sands that are waaaaay too hot for her sandled feet. "Oh! Shells!" she mutters, slipping in behind Saran. >From the Sands, Raucous Graffiti Dragonet prances with unmitigated pride closer to the white.. or nearly white candidate. Bending he takes a long /sniiiifffff/ hmmm this one is.... well his robe isn't even as white as the others. Head bobs up so sly eyes can once more audit the crowd. Which one.. which one? It has to be one that /appreciates/ him. Calia grins at Che "Journeyman Freand Impressed a blue, Rinara and Alena is going to be chewing on everything in site for a few days Cheoah rolls his eyes.. "Just what we need" Calia chuckles >From the Sands, Rivka starts hopping up and down even, in an attempt to cool her feet. An unsuccessful one too at that. Her cringe a testamant to that. Maybe she could stand on Igenboy? Nah. Oooooh, she watches closely as the bronze snuffles a candidate. >From the Sands, Rukar eyes hopefully drift toward the bronze, and starts swivling his head from side to side, looking between other's leggs in attempt to see it. >From the Sands, Hidden Waterfall Egg shudders again and from the forming cracks, the greenery of concealing brush moves aside to reveal... more blue waterfall patterns, mist rising and spreading out, still obscuring sight and hope of what's to come. >From the Sands, Bradley scuffs a toe in the sand as the bronze pauses in front of another. There are lots of other dragonets that roam the sands of course; but he likes /that/ one. Cerise on his wings. Now that's classy. Brekka watches the bronze murmuring "Go Gryphynn!" >From the Sands, Gryphynn notices the bronze looking around, could he still be looking? Looking for him. Oh please, It would mean so much, He points the bronze out to Mishia again, "He is turning." >From the Sands, Saran shifts uncomfortable, both from sands heat and girls cloying closeness...did he say he liked that? /Well/...Eyes sweep over dragonets sniffing out lifemates...breath held as one makes a match, then another. Weavers eyes appreciate color strokes on dragon hide as some pause, parading this into a show. Cheoah looks about the other candidates.. "Is Seli out there too??" >From the Sands, Rivka lets her eyes wander between bronze and egg, bronze and egg, a nibble on her lip showing indecisivenessm although the lovely pattern revealed makes her gape for a moment. >From the Sands, Ailheen keeps her eyes on the eggs for a few mins longer, then finally turns to watch who the bronze is going to choose. >From the Sands, Priscila absently shuffles, but more out of habit than anything else. "I think it's time to go /back/ to the wine." A sweaty lock of hair gets pushed out of her eyes, fingernails nibbled nervously. "Or maybe just go /period/." It's that hot/sweaty/smelly thing again. >From the Sands, Hilare pulls at his robe. At least it's light-weight. He doesn't know how the 'riders stand the heat out here in their riding leathers. This robe isn't really all that bad. Kinda... catchy, in fact. Seli shakes her head, "No, I'm not." she giggles. Calia shakes her head and looks down "Don't know don't see er." >From the Sands, Mishia nods almost rapidly. "Come on.. come to Gryphynn, please.." She almost pleads. Brekka sends Arian winging off her shoulder. >From the Sands, Raucous Graffiti Dragonet shifts is rather elegant frame to look again at another. One who /may/ have just come to appreciate his beauty.. his unique features... the gleam of colour on his wings... his elegant stance. Wobbling that way he stops to take another long.... long snifffff. Cheoah looks over..he grins at Seli.. "Sorry..I missed you when you came in.." Catasothra materializes out of thin air. Calia giggles at che and shakes her head >From the Sands, Rukar glances down at his plain white robe. 'Oh, only if I could have something as beautifull as that bronze to light up my day!' he thinks. Seli smiles, "It's okay, Cheoah." she says quietly, "I'm not very loud at the moment." Cheoah grins.. >From the Sands, The crash and roar of water spilling down in terrific force against rock suddenly ceases as the mist clears away. The Hidden Waterfall egg breaks apart, the waters cut loose from their source as hundreds of droplet shards scatter and pool to reveal what has been kept from sight for so very long. >From the Sands, Pastural Symphony Dragonet >From the Sands, Callow youth's soft undertones belies the burlesque musculature of deep, earthy loam blended with a chorus of rich auburn highlights fluttering over every curve and bend like the whimsical lilt of an ethereal song. Bright sparkling eyes reflecting a joyous harmony with life whirl with gentle calm and patience, the focus of a broad forehead, prominent headknobs and romanesque nose. His thick neck ripples with a fresco of tawny lines like a splash of sunlight through spring rain clouds before they spill across the wide shoulders then down to heavy haunches and a thick length of tail. Twin wings of vandyke brown spread as protective shields like a canopy of branches beneath a tree with a shower of redwort imbuing spar and fingersail before pooling down at the trailing edge. Calia nods and smiles turning to watch the bronze intently >From the Sands, Lissette's eyes grow wider and wider, seeing dragonets where once there were eggs. Her song comes to mind, but she shushes herself immediately. No need to hurt young dragon ears with it. "How late am I?" she mutters to Saran, oblivious of the fact that he's probably ignoring her. Cheoah turns his gaze once again out on the sands.. "Go Rukar!" >From the Sands, Gryphynn smiles, "is he coming this way?" he asks Mishia. His eyes not leaving the young bronze now. His heart pounds in his chest as he hopes. >From the Sands, Bradley looks up, blinking in renewed hope as the bronze moves away. Could he be coming here? >From the Sands, K'pan returns to leaning against Korinth as he removes a boot and shakes some sand from it...then sighs as his foot slips back inside to a less crunchy interior. Tenneba ohs at the lovely Brown. "I sure like his coloring, that new hatchling..." she says to no one in particular. >From the Sands, Tam applauds loudly. "Yes! A brown!" she cheers as Timoth trumpets a welcome behind her. Nose prods lovingly against her backside and she giggles. "But of course, dear, I love you best." Calia oooooohhhss "A brown! I'd have never guessed isn't he something?" >From the Sands, Mishia looks up. "I think so.. I really hope so.." She swallows hard. Cheoah grins.. "I guess we both would have lost.. Iona smiles "You just could never guess at all the heues in those georgoes hides out there. >From the Sands, K'pan laughs at Tam's cheering of the newly hatched brown..."Kinda prejudiced are we Tam?" >From the Sands, Dreary Rainy Day Egg begins rocking in earnest now, in an increasingly frenetic and haphazard pattern. Ranra smiles at the arrival of yet another dragonet- a lovely brown for a deserving candidate. >From the Sands, Ailheen watches the Bronze as he moves from candidate to candidate, waiting to see just whom he will pick. >From the Sands, Rivka trembles faintly as she watches the waterfall burst forth to reveal a brown hatchling, "Oh shards", her incessant tugging on the igen candidates hand, making him look as well, even if he looks annoyed. Her eyes just wander from the brown to bronze..she just has to see who he's to impress! Cindanna leans even farther over the rail, eyes squinted. "Is that new one a brown?" Duh! "Wow, isn't he a beauty!" 'Course, she fawns like this over every dragonet who hatches, so its no real honor. Sorsha has connected. >From the Sands, Mishia starts, torn suddenly as the egg she's stared at so long starts to rock harder. She squeezes Gryphynn's hand tightly. Miakoda sticks her head around the won't-sit-down-ever woman in front of her, catching sight of the lovely brown. "Oh my..." >From the Sands, Hilare breathes in sharply, breath hissing at the birth of the brown. Now /there's/ a dragon. >From the Sands, Saran offers his other arm to Lissette, kind of symetrical that way, what with the crafter clinging to his opposite side, "Yer late, but then in a way so are the eggs...their clutchmates hatched last night." scant comfort but...cheering catches his ears for a moment, eyes shifting back to sands to catch newest pair of impresses. >From the Sands, Tam glances over at K'pan and snorts. "I should think I would be," she replies tartly. >From the Sands, Rukar eyes the brown sharply, and then lets his gaze drift between the bronze and the brown, wondering if either might like him. >From the Sands, K'pan shakes his head as he returns to watching Candidates and Hatchlings... Sorsha dashes up the stairs, pen and hides in hand, as she glances at tehe sands. Breathlessly taking a seat, near a few other Harpers, Brekka included, she sighs in relief. Not /too/ late. Iona leans forward her whole attention on Gryphynn and the wonderful Bronze. She can only hope and pray for him. Brekka continues to chant "Go Gryphynn." her eyes turn back to the brown "Ooohh pretty!" she then turns back to watch the bronze and Gryphynn >From the Sands, Lissette peers at offered arm and grins slyly shaking her head. Nope. She doesn't share. >;^) "So I heard..." Cat's eyes slide back across sands to newly hatched brown and she exhales in a sigh. "Such lovely colors....." >From the Sands, Gryphynn returns the squeeze, watching the bronze with all the energy he can muster. His heart is caught in his throat and is unable to speak right now." >From the Sands, Pastural Symphony Dragonet uncoils from a position held for so long to let out every kink in every rippling muscle. A fine specimen of health, he quite patiently checks himself over before stepping away from the ruins of shell to look upwards at the watching queens. He warbles a low warble to one of them, it is difficult to imagine which he's calling to, but the dragons surely know. Cheoah watches the bronze intently Brekka waves to Sorsha with a smile her attention focused on Gryphynn and the brone D'karon materializes out of thin air. Sorsha smiles at Brekka, finally focusing on the candidates, and her eyes widen. "Look, there's Gryph!" Eyes scanning the cnadidates, a worried tone introduces itself. "Wasn't Teron Searched?" Ranra smiles at the dragons warbling nice tone, he's got a good voice. But then again, most dragons do. Rhaine grins and decides to cheer on the boy that everyone else appears to favor. "Choose him, choose Gryphynn" she urges the little bronze. >From the Sands, Ailheen turns her head to watch the Brown and then the Bronze, trying to do both at the same time and not doing a very good job at it. >From the Sands, Rivka stares, unabashedly too at the fine specimen of dragon with a gulp. She even stops hiding behind Igenboy for awhile, although quickly moving out of the way as she almost gets stampeded over by a young green finding..heywait...her Igenboy just impressed the green. No fair! With a gulp, she watches without protection the wandering bronze and brown. Brekka smiles at Sorsha "Sorsha the bronze can /really/ sing! it came out of the harper blue egg! >From the Sands, Raucous Graffiti Dragonet wobbles and waddles majestically drawn by red flag of sunset that nearly matches the cerise gleam on his wings. Those bright blue eyes blink blinking seems to be filled with just the right amount of admiration to suit the swaggering bronze. Ranra nods to Sorsha. "He was, but I don't know what's happened to him. I didn't see him last time either." >From the Sands, Gypsy Dance Egg rolls a bit on it's side, as if beginning to sway to softly played music, tantilizingly exotic... Sorsha has disconnected. >From the Sands, Mishia swallows hard, her eyes closing softly, almost chanting to herself in the hope her friend impresses the bronze, her grip tight, but not crushingly so. She sways a bit. >From the Sands, Bradley can't help but shake his head in stunned admiration at the bronze. "Shells," is all he whispers. Blue! Cerise! And those greenie bits on his wings. Oh he's perfect. >From the Sands, Rukar's eyes, still floating betwixt the two dragons, start to itch from the heat. Ow. >From the Sands, Pastural Symphony Dragonet takes slow careful steps, the sands are comfortably warm beneath his feet a sense of familiarity. Of course his egg has been sitting out here for months now, but he knows this place and he knows that the one he needs to find, to comfort him, to raise him, is out there. Him or her, he knows not, but has he approaches the sea of white clad bodies, he can feel that /one/ out there. Fenlarys has disconnected. Cheoah says, "Come on Rukar!" Tomias ascends the staircase from the Hatching Grounds. Iona cheers "Wake up Gryphynn, don't stop now!!!" Tomias sits with the harper contingent. >From the Sands, Gryphynn sighs but then smiles, "There are more out there," he says and turns back t o the sands. There didn't the Gypsy dance egg just move. He nods, it did, it was one of his other favorites. "There look, another egg moved." >From the Sands, Ailheen keeps her eyes on the two dragons, keeping as quiet as she can, she shifts from foot to foot. Brekka holds her breath unconsciously waiting to see if Gryphynn and the bronze match >From the Sands, Sabria looks over at the bronze, her brows furrowing. "Is that Bradley with that dragonet?" she murmurs. >From the Sands, Dreary Rainy Day Egg all but spins on an axis, tumbling from the swell it rolled up onto to down in deeper hollow. It rocks still, stubbornly persistant as a hailstorm. Fenlarys has connected. Ranra starts to get a little tuned she's made up in her head stuck there... she adds a mental bass as she goes, the melody changing with the movment of the dragonets. She'll have to write this one down... >From the Sands, Rivka looks all around her, amidst the throng of candidates, and stands up taller to look about, having been hidde, somewhat for awhile. A smirk for the bronze is given, an admiring glance for the brown, and the hem of her gown is tugged epon nervously. >From the Sands, Green, blue, brown, bronze - red, orange, yellow, purple. They're all there, and Priscila is /here/. Baking. Feet shift uncomfortably, freckled hand pushes yet more sweaty locks from her brow. "Can we /go/ now? Why did I ever agree to be here in the first place." Whine, whine, wine. Tomias reaches for a scrap of hide and begins scribbling a message upon it. >From the Sands, Raucous Graffiti Dragonet finds the one, he scrambles over to the youngster and gazes up at him adoringly. He's just the right one, one who'll be a match for him in deed and action, goodness and badness. The one. Bradley. >From the Sands, Bradley , now forevermore to be known as B'ad, finds himself locked in the whirling gaze of Impression. He stands stock still for only a moment, then grabs up the bronze in a strong, impetuous hug. "Oh Tasteth! You picked me!" He runs a finger along all those colliding colours on the dragonet's hide and then carefully leads him off to one side. >From the Sands, Mishia opens her eyes in a snap, locking on target: 'the egg'. Yes, in her mind the Dreary egg has been haunting her thoughts.. now she hopes it was a hint of future, instead of just wishful thinking.. She squeezes Gryph's hand, hoping for him,.. Tenneba tries to will a dragonet to Rivka, feeling a little silly as she does, but wanting it for her. Shards, but then she'll lose her journeyman...Never easy, this! Iona slumps back in the seat and exhales. Brekka lets go of her breath and slumps "Shards!" Kitiana slumps beside the rail. Darn! Rowena has disconnected. Brekka sighs in disappointment >From the Sands, Ailheen smiles as the new pair is made and calls out a congrats to B'ad. She turns back to watch the brown and to watch the remaining eggs. >From the Sands, Teron walks onto the sands from the entrance. >From the Sands, Teron leaves to the Entrance. Cheoah says, "Come on Rukar.." Lanera frowns in the bronze's choice. She had thought for /sure/ that Rukar would have had that one. >From the Sands, Dreary Rainy Day Egg thunders and rolls, dismal surroundings showing a bit of light. Is it the sun? Or perhaps a bit of claw as the shell cracks, a hooking bit of bone scratching its way out. Water and shell bits flow, as its occupant breaks itself free. >From the Sands, Indra Dyed Dragonet >From the Sands, Delicate strands of golden hue mingle in an intricate laced design over bronzen base, highlights of silver touch the major intersections of rippling pattern, the whole seeming too lovely for even a dragonet's hide. Delicate veining marks his proudly chiseled head, sweeping through diamond inlaid golden ridges and wide-flared marbled wingsails. He seems more a statue of a dragon than the real thing, each movement one of studied care, his focus turned inwards, seeking the greater path of life. Brekka smiles though she doesn't know the Candidate "Congratulations." >From the Sands, Gryphynn glances back towards the bronze with a look of regret, and then turns to looks towards the other eggs, and a young girl who impresses a brown. "His name is Roneth," cries young Sari. Gryphynn squeezes Mishia's hand, hoping for them both. >From the Sands, B'ad has disconnected. Rhaine gasps. "Another bronze!" Brekka nudges Cinda "LOOK! There's Teron! >From the Sands, Rukar eyes widen as he sees /another/ bronze come out! >From the Sands, Rivka cheers for B'ad with a chuckle, Oooh yes quite a pair. Another one hatches, and she stares again, studying before turning back to look at brown hide, scanning amidst blue and green as well to see. Iona grins "Ohhh, shards but they are all just to beautiful for words." >From the Sands, Mishia swallows and almost sways as the hatchling emerges. "A blue..." She whispers and looks to Gryph. "He's a blue..." Kitiana perks up at seeing yet another bronze. "Oh, great!" Here we go again! Cindanna gasps as Teron walks into the sands and suddenly jumps up, practically screaming, "Go Teron!!!" at the top of her lungs. Brekka grins at Kiti "Maybe just maybe! Tenneba has to agree with Iona. "It is /almost/ enough to make you wish for one, eh?" ALMOST! >From the Sands, Gryphynn watches another egg hatch. Impressions are going on left and right and not many are left. Is there one for him? Only time will tell. He squeezes Mishia's hand as her egg hatches, "That he is," he says to her. and smiles for her, still casting a glance towards the Gypsy egg. >From the Sands, Pastural Symphony Dragonet pushes his way past numerous white clad Candidates. No, not that one. He smells... well wrong. He nudges another out of his way. A figure rushing in from the entrance late catches his eye and he makes several bouncing leaps that way then halts to a skidding stop to scatter sand all over the hapless lad. Oops, no, not the one. He creels in discontentment, wandering back through the crowds only to knock into several others who had turned to follow him. *CREEL!* the dragonet wails his unhappiness as he stubs a toe. Granted, he nearly crushed someone's foot in that tanglement, but /he's/ the one who's feeling it all in his head. Vanetin materializes out of thin air. >From the Sands, Hilare glances from brown to bronze; now that bronze is a bit nicer than the other. Not for him garish colours, he prefers simplicity. >From the Sands, Teron walks onto the sands from the entrance. Cheoah stands on his feet.. "Go Rukar!!!" >From the Sands, Saran grins with relief as his tangled partner gets sweep off his feet by a whirlwind brown..."Congrats!" he calls, feet lifted up, toes wiggling in sandals, barely still working. "Has yer egg hatched?" he wonders softly to Lissette. Vanetin waves to Brekka as she makes her weay over to stand near her >From the Sands, Rukar shifts in his sitting position, wandering if there's a dragon out there looking for him. He reaches up and grabs Mishia's hand again, and squeezes it. >From the Sands, Rivka cringes at all the injuries happening out there, a slight clucking sound being made. A frown of concern overtakes her face while she half bounces upon hearing a loud creel. Ouch! >From the Sands, Mishia winces a bit, her eyes closed. "Just a dream.." She whispers. She squeezes both hands. Iona starts her chanting for Gryphynn again. Hoping and praying that this one will be the one for him! >From the Sands, Indra Dyed Dragonet walks out slowly, shaking one leg at a time to shed eggshell sticking to him. With a toss of his head, and a flick of his tail, he is ready. And turns to look on the world for the first time. Drawing back, he's rather startled. The world is /big/! >From the Sands, Teron stumbles it, hoping because of the heat, his still damp black hair tangled about his head. "Shards! What a time for a bath. >From the Sands, Lissette curls a single finger inside of white collar and uses her other hand to fan her face. "Whew! Seems alot more warmer than when we were just egg touching." Eyes narrow wistfully noting a green find her female rider. Then, she tries looking for the egg she'd loved and lets out a cry of disapointment. "Not there anymore!" Is it a bad omen? Ranra stands in her sead, and shouts at the top of her trained powerful lungs, "GO TERON! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!" >From the Sands, Ailheen watches both the Bronze and the Brown, taking in a deep breath as the brown almost trudges over somebodies foot. She wipes a stray piece of black hair away from her face and continues to watch. >From the Sands, Saran reaches out to pat her shoulders..."Aye, it's alright...we dinae know what each egg holds." Cindanna's fingers clamp the rail in a death grip as her knuckles turn white. She adds her own screams of encouragement for Teron, her and Ranra's words overlapping. She smiles over at her fellow apprentice, expression infused with pride. That's /her/ Teron out there. >From the Sands, Tam looks concerned as the brown stumbles, remembering all too well how Timoth hurt himself before impressing. She wishes silently, hoping the dragonet finds his mate before it hurts too much. Lanera she pushes her way down to join Cindanna, and says, "He'll Impress. I know it." She smiles at Cinda, and then focuses back on Teron. Cindanna's Teron. Calia chuckles softly at Cinda and looks back at Rukar keeping her fingers crossed OOC: Lanera oopses... that was Ranra!! >From the Sands, Pastural Symphony Dragonet wobbles back towards the front, making disconcerted noises the entire time. His tail drags and his head hangs low. So newly born and already things are happening around him. But surely there is one here who's the one, the one to help him. Heal him. Make him happy forever and ever. Of course with so many around him, someone's bound to step on his tail. Or rather trip over it. Though not gravely injured, infact not at all (just his pride) he creels again, eyes searching around in appeal. >From the Sands, Teron looks around with wide eyes. He stumbles over to Saran as he bows to the great queens. "Shells, Saran, what did I miss." His belt is untied and retied as he looks around the cavern. Ranra pushes her way down to join Cindanna, and says, "He'll Impress. I know it." She smiles at Cinda, and then focuses back on Teron. Cindanna's Teron. >From the Sands, Gryphynn hears a sound and turns to look at the hatchling wincing a little, "Is he okay?" he asks Mishia. Cheoah watches.. "help him Rukar..help him" he mutters just loudly enough so that others around him can hear >From the Sands, One egg, two egg, red egg, blue egg. Do I want my feet to fry? No sir, no sir, my oh my. Priscila mumbles to herself, green eyes occasionally looking up.. and getting out of the way of stampeding browns doesn't hurt any either. Tomias leand over and whispers softly to Cindanna. "Don't worry. I'm sure he'l;l get at least a brown/ >From the Sands, Lissette nods her head slowly, regretfully, then nods her head in Teron's direction as he joins their little circle. "Hey....Bradley...or B'ad impressed...that's all I caught." Finger now curls in hair, tugging on the strand. Trevor eyes the symphony dragonet and leans towards Iona to wonder of her, "Uhm, don't people get badly hurt at these things? I don't see any Healers actually on site..." Iona watches the little dragon and almost shouts "Go help him, Gryphynn!!!" >From the Sands, Rivka frowns at all the creeling noises from the brown. And how is one supposed to know he's not really hurt? Her eyes carefully scan over the brown hide from a distance. At least she can look if nothing else. >From the Sands, Rukar's eyes reflect concern for the symphony dragonet. He almost runs up to it, but cathes himself, and remains scorching his rear. >From the Sands, Ailheen glances at the eggs, then back at the brown, watching him, "poor thing" she mutters. >From the Sands, Mishia sighs, seeing her hopes fading as she sees the bronze emerge from the egg she devoted her free time observing. "I was imagining it, wasn't I?" She looks up, and frowns, worriedly. "I don't know..." She watches the blue, not liking to see a dragon hurt. From all her life in awe of them, it hurts to see one injured. Vanetin sidles over to Brekka, "What's happened so fefar?" Iona laughs "Trevor, we are almost all h ere! Cheoah says, "Go help him Rukar" he yells.. "He needs someone.."" Trevor looks down the row of Journeyman+ ranked Healers. "I suppose," he says, distracted by all the shouting. >From the Sands, Saran gives Teron a look as he points to the side of the cavern, "Those." he answers, can't remember his own name right now...let alone who has impressed and names chosen. Frown as sandaled foot gets held off sands until other one reaches burning point, then swapped..."How about you?" low question as he indicates eggs left, "Yours still there?" Brekka smiles "Lots of impressionsVanetin." her eyes wander back to the sands to watch Cindanna nods furiously to Ranra before attention is refocused on Teron. "Oh, I know he will," she whispers. Hang on, almost sounds like that's a bad thing from her tone. "He will," she murmurs, and now it sounds good. Schizo for sure. >From the Sands, Hilare shifts awkwardly, hands flopping loose at his sides. If only he had something to keep them busy. It's the waiting that's the worst part. But he still eyes both bronze and brown. Calia sighs "Come on Rukar go help him get up and help" >From the Sands, Gryphynn shakes his head, "Maybe not, mine went elsewhere too, there is still one there for us." he says trying to sound convincing for both of thier sacks as he squeezes Mishia's hand and watches the hatchlings. Tenneba grins over to Trevor, shaking her head in amusement, but saying nothing. She is too busy watching the goings on on the sands. >From the Sands, Pastural Symphony Dragonet senses something, eyes upon him. Of course hundreds are looking at him probably for all the noises he's been making, but he realizes the one he's been searching for is one of them. The great ponderous head sweeps about again as he wobbles on those fat baby legs farther on through the sands, towards the one he can sense is concerned for his welfare. >From the Sands, Indra Dyed Dragonet regards not the now sparce sea of white, but looks over to the sires and dams ranged behind him. They're big, too. Mmm, maybe he'll start a little smaller. He is drawn to the field of white and moves forward, appearing to stalk. >From the Sands, A'razi watches the brown with the faintest frown. Is no one going to do anything for that poor dragonet? >From the Sands, Teron nods slowly to Saran as the heat penetrates his feet as well, and dries his hair into a big knot. Slowly he looks around as he sways, trying to supress a sigh of relief as he sees his favorite is still there. "It is." he murmurs back to Saran. >From the Sands, Gypsy Dance Egg's dance, once slow, now begins to pick up the tempo. Small cracks begin to thread across the surface, though the egg remains whole. >From the Sands, Mishia swallows and nods. "Make sure I give you my tool case when this ends." She says softly as she goes to look at the hatchlings emerging. She looks at the dragonets, concerned for the wounded one. "Somebody needs to help him..." She moves forward a bit, hoping she won't ruin someone's chances by assisting him. >From the Sands, Gryphynn watches the two hatchlings, unsure which to follow with his gaze, both are so beautiful, but wait there goes the Gypsy egg again. >From the Sands, Rukar scoots forward a bit toward the brown, wishing he knew that he was concerned for him. "Poor thing, he needs help." he says to no one in particular. Iona sighs "Aren't they allowed to help them!" >From the Sands, Rivka watches, and stares with worried eyes. In fact, she even kneels down to see if she can get a better glance. "Wonder if the poor thing's alright" she asks, of no-one in particular, peering closely, even as several others around her stare at her like she's a nut. >From the Sands, Ailheen switches from the Bronze to the Brown, deciding to stick with watching just the brown for the moment. >From the Sands, Lissette also noted the poor brown's dilemna, wondering too if she should help. Of course harper lass's feet remain fixed on the sands, merely watching. Finger curls in hair more. Cheoah says, "Please Rukar..help him.." Sorsha has connected. >From the Sands, Hilare lifts his feet one at a time, cooling them. But both feet are so roasted now, even through the sandals, that he does not rest for long on either one. His strange swaying dance seems to help though - even if it does look mighty silly. >From the Sands, Mishia moves a bit closer, almost whispering, "You ok?" She speaks as she moves closer, her hand still in Gryph's, but her grip loosening. Iona leans forward feeling terrible for the poor dragonette. Someone needs to get over their fright and go to him, poor baby." D'karon has disconnected. Trevor leans forward with Iona and points out, "The dragonette will call for whomever it's going to Impress, won't it?" Juliana materializes out of thin air. Iona shakes her head "I don't know, but this one looks so lost and lonely. Why doesn't someone go help him find who he needs." >From the Sands, Recognition flashes in his eyes as the Pastural Symphony Dragonet suddenly sees the one! Coming down to face him at his eye level as it should be. It's very confusing out here with everyone dressed in white you know. ;) But he finds her he does. Yes, she. He follows her voice to her, his once hesitant steps gone as he bounds up to Rivka! Vanetin looks worriedly at the little lost dragonet. Trevor hmms and furrows his brow in thought, turning his emerald gaze to the dragonette to impassively watch its quest for a partner. Iona gasps "Oh, shards!!!! Rivka! The Brown? Wow!!! Bronwyn sits up straighter in her seat, "Is that one going for Riv?" >From the Sands, Mishia sighs in relief as the dragon finds the person, and is mostly unharmed. She moves back to Gryph. "He'll be ok, I hope.. Rivka's a good person." >From the Sands, Rukar grins. "Congrats Riv!" >From the Sands, Ailheen grins as the brown heads for Rivka, "Congrats!!" Sorsha grins, another Impression, but looks worridly to the other, the lost-looking one. Poor little one. Trevor rumbles deeply and belts out, "GO RIVKA!" >From the Sands, Saran catches sight of brown chosing Rivka, "Congratulations!" he calls...happy that the healer made a good impression, she'll heal him right up. >From the Sands, Gryphynn turns and watches one go, "There it goes, Congrats Rivka." He says and turns back to the bronze and unhatched eggs, Rhaine claps her hands as another happy impression is made. >From the Sands, With the brown Impressing, Rukar turns his full and complete attention to the bronze. And what a bronze he is! Kitiana claps loudly and whooops for Rivka! "WHHHOOOOHOOO! Go Riv!" >From the Sands, Lissette exhales her held in breath with a happy sigh. "Oh! The healer got the brown!" She claps delightedly, knowing it was a good choice. Cheoah grins.. "Now its your turn Rukar... Vanetin smiles as the little one finally makes its choice. >From the Sands, Muireann waves over at Rivka as the girl impresses brown. Though she'll probably not notice; too lost in the wonder of impression. "Congratulations!" She calls, even so. Iona CHEEEEERRRRSSSSSS RIVKA!!!!!!!! Brekka grins and yells "WAY TO GO RIVKA!!!! >From the Sands, A'razi smiles and shifts his attention off the brown... the little tyke'll be okay now, with a rider. >From the Sands, Indra Dyed Dragonet pauses by the weaver lad with a not-so-white robe, smelling his toes. He even goes so far as to lick them. Mmm, salty. But not quite to his taste. He moves onward, seeking the answer to life. Or at least, his answer. Julianaregards the Hatchng, and all it's events, from a seat near the Sands, lucky was she, to snag it so early. Eyes on the two she knows, Mishia and AIlheen, she cheers softly, hoping against hope. Tenneba oooohs! "Gosh, it's RIVKA! She impressed that beautiful Brown! Isn't that wonderful!" >From the Sands, Teron smiles as he watches the pair impress and waves to Rivka as he jumps a bit. "Grat's Riv!" he calls before stopping and blinking as the bronze dragonet pauses. >From the Sands, Gypsy Dance Egg's gyrations increase as the egg rocks off its base. It's ready to turn the dnace into something completley new! >From the Sands, Sabria smiles at the newly impressed pair, privately glad that the noisome creels have ended. "What's his name, dear?" she calls to Rivka. >From the Sands, Rivka trembles, a look of joy suffusing her face, "Epionth!" she exclaims, quickly, of course checking to see if the brown is alright, "Oh, of course you must be...hungry" her hand clutched to her stomash as she looks up into his whirling eyes. >From the Sands, From his frrying positon on his but, Rukar's eyes never leave the bronze. He giggles a bit at his licking of Saran's feet, and doesn't even want to know what they tasted like! Yelk! >From the Sands, Tam laughs and waves to Rivka. "Whoo! Another healer with a brown!" she congratulates her friend. >From the Sands, Gryphynn turns towards the eggs, "It's going to hatch." he calls out watching the Gypsy Dance egg. >From the Sands, K'pan smiles as Rivka impresses the brown...good choice..Rivka and Epionth..good pair!! Trevor nods curtly and returns to his normally straight-backed position. "A fine name for a dragon," he comments as Rivka calls out the dragon's name. Iona chuckles "Maybe we should set up a weyr situation at Healer for visiting healer/dragon riders." Brekka grins and whispers Epionth "Pretty name huh?" >From the Sands, Saran stops breathing...and tries to not to pull a face as bronze teases his toes...relief a sigh as dragonet passes by..."Now I know the answer that question." he quips in an aside to Teron and Lisstte..."What does a dragon's tongue feel like." Tenneba keeps the watchrider busy, doing just that. Sorsha nods, eyes one Teron and GRyphyn. "I do Hope they Impress, Teron and Gryph, that is. They'd sure do the HArpers proud!" >From the Sands, Whirling colors continue to mesmerize as they shift and morph over the swirling surface of the Gypsy Dance Egg. Dancer's beat becomes frenetic now, her sinuous movements transposing into something more vibrant, more alive. Scarves and veils are cast aside as egg shell shatters in a burst of music and magic, the dancer /within/ now making his debut. >From the Sands, Captive Unicorn Dragonet >From the Sands, Chromed hide plaits seamlessly in a form of eloquent expression over this lean dragonet's build, dusky red-bronzed shades whorling a curlicue motif across his mighty wings. Sun dappled spars of sienna transpose from dark liquid gold highlights down tapered mainsails to almost white veneer over blunt wingtips. Burnished muscles ripple a metallic sheen in taut hindquarters, glissading up torso where bronzed tones flow over narrow set eyes and strong nose. Glowing red magma pours back down 'neath neck and undersides, pooling below where it forges talons of steel. Vanetin, hearing Brekka, grins, "yeah." Trevor smirks to Iona and nods, mentally tallying the number of Healers who Impressed. "I think our Craft made a good showing." >From the Sands, Rukar blinks. Is he seeing double? Another bronze! Iona grins "It surely did, but you know that just means we are stretched even thinner." Cindanna falls into complete and utter silence, barely breathing. Blue eyes focus on Teron and Teron only. There are dragonets on the sands? Really? >From the Sands, Gryphynn watches the egg hatch, "Look, is that another bronze. But look how majestic it is." Calia oohhhs "Another bronze!!!" >From the Sands, Lissette laughs at Saran's comment and noted the bronze at his feet before. Although now her attention is turned towards the newest dragonet, tempted to echo Rukar's words. Seli goes home. Tomias leans over to Brekka. "Do you think Saran'll impress?" He'd hate to see Jessic's cousin get left out on the sands. Iona ooohs softly "Bronzes everywhere! Tenneba is both pleased and slightly dismayed at that news. "Well, healers are so empathetic, you know..." >From the Sands, If Hilare knew the answer to life, he'd help the bronze out. But unfortunately, all he can think about right now is how terribly warm he is right now, and how very much he'd like to cut all that long, heavy hair off. No, never mind cut it, shave it. Trevor nods to Iona. "Perhaps. But I've noticed a number of the Senior Apprentices are advancing well. The Hall won't be too stretched out for long. Always lots of people wanting to be Healers..." >From the Sands, Gryphynn smiles and squeezes Mishia's hand, "Look at that one." Cheoah grins.. "Yep..." he yells once again for Rukar >From the Sands, Teron giggles slightly hysterically at Saran's muttered comment, >From the Sands, Rivka leads Epionth off to the side, heat forgotten, sore feet a thing of the past as the brown creels again, this time hungrily. Brekka shakes her head and bites her lip "I hope so I've got my fingers crossed and recrossed for him." >From the Sands, Teron giggles slightly hysterically at Saran's muttered comment, "I guess so," he offers, eyes still on the bronze, watching as it walks. >From the Sands, Mishia looks at Gryph after noticing the bronze. "They're amazing, aren't they?" She says, the note of joy in her voice faded. >From the Sands, Ailheen watches as the new bronze immerges, he's definately a beauty. >From the Sands, Captive Unicorn Dragonet trumpets a little bleat, almost like a piper's toot. He extends still wet wings skyward, shaking egg goo off and stretching a bit as he begins his own dance....of life. Vanetin has disconnected. Vanetin has connected. Vanetin has disconnected. Miakoda jst stares, attention completely on the sands, despite rather cramped and uncomfortable accomodations. And another bronze! Brekka sighs at Kitiana "Listen to him? that Trumpet is wonderful!" >From the Sands, Gryphynn watches the newly hatched bronze trumpet and grins, "What a set of pipes." he says and then giggles. He looks around, not many left. Is there one for him. Could this bronze be it? >From the Sands, Hurrying his pace, Indra Dyed Dragonet moves past several others who do not fit his needs. Perhaps instead of complexity, something simpler is what is called for. And the answer to life suddenly becomes that much easier as he stops before Hilare, raising his eyes to meet the lads. You are my answer. Vanetin has connected. Iona centers her attention on Gryphynn again. Once again she sends her prayers skyward that he'll impress. Vanetin has disconnected. >From the Sands, Saran wiggling his toes, sparing a glance to make sure no harm befell them while being dragon inspected, wiggle, wiggle, all there as eyes drift back up, studying shell fragments and nervously pacing dragonets...got to be hard to chose in this crowd, though numbers are dwindling... >From the Sands, Mishia squeezes Gryphynn's hand, hoping at least for him to impress, trying to set aside the cut of disappointment as she watches the bronzes, almost pleading mentally for one to approach Gryph. Kitiana nods. She glances back at Gryphynn, hoping. Vanetin has connected. >From the Sands, Rukar starts feeling all alone as he sees another bronze go. 'Will one ever like me? Will one ever be my friend?' he feels like yelling, but stays still, watching, wating, hoping. >From the Sands, H'are falls to his knees, clutching the bronze's neck in gratitude. He's never taking this robe off. Never! After all, it brought him this marvelous creature. "Krishnath! Oh Krishnath!" Though he just might shave his head after all. >From the Sands, Gryphynn hears a cheer from the side and turns to watch the other bronze impress to Hilare, "Congrats," he calls out and then quickly returns to the other, wanting to give him all of his attention. >From the Sands, Quill and Parchment Egg twidders, though it comes to a stop after a bit of calm. Was not moving. Nope, can't prove a thing. >From the Sands, Ailheen calls out a congrats to H'are before turning to the last egg and watching it twidder, You look down upon the sands:
Hatching Sands
The sands are almost blisteringly hot all year round, glistening in
their whiteness, but mingled with myriad colors of two millenias worth
of broken shells. Sharp noises seem to echo loudly in the gigantic
cavern while smaller ones are muffled; during Hatchings, the noise is near
deafening with the sounds of the crowds and thrumming dragons. The
ceiling is so far away, so tall that the dragons fly into the cavern through
the great hole on the wall towards the northern bowl. Great, wide
tiers line the sides of the sands, guarding rails separating them from
the hatching grounds and the great mound at the far wall. The mound
slopes downwards into the main part of the sands, where the eggs are usually
scattered. Opposite the mound is the arched entrance to the rest
of the weyr, where visitors enter to see a hatching or clutching.
The queens have made four mounds to stash their eggs into, though it appears some of eggs have been shuffled from mound to mound. Lumpy Mound, Big Mound, Flattened Mound, and Shallow Mound. Mulderth, Krishnath, and Willyth are in the Big Mound. Soulth, Captive Unicorn Dragonet, and Tasteth are in the Shallow Mound. Tooth, Calamityth, Earth, and Quill and Parchment Egg are in the Flattened Mound. Epionth is in the Lumpy Mound. You see Zivath, Sirikith, Aerinth, Warth, Fabrinath, M'ars, Korinth, Timoth, Kenny the Candidate, and Skullyth here. K'pan, Elisandra, Muireann, Sabria, Mishia, Rivka, Ailheen, Rukar, Priscila, Saran, Gryphynn, H'are, A'razi, Tam, Lissette, and Teron are here. Obvious exits: Entrance Galleries >From the Sands, Teron waves a congratulations to Hilare opening his mouth to say something, before stopping and looking at the Quill and Parchment Egg. Did it move? Naaah. Ranra has disconnected. Lanera has disconnected. Tomias has disconnected. >From the Sands, H'are regains his feet and starts guiding Krishnath toward the edge of the sands. Along the way, he continues his hot-footed swaying dance. Krishnath mimics it, following just behind, in perfect step - H'are, H'are Krishnath... >From the Sands, Captive Unicorn Dragonet looks around himself, as if thinking he is being followed. Hmmm...can't have that. So, he bounces off in one direction, snout wuffling candidate's robe upwards. Whoops! But nope! Not the one. Eyes contines to search. >From the Sands, H'are has disconnected. >From the Sands, Mishia looks at Gryph, swallowing hard. "Come on, you'll make it, Gryph.." Cheoah says, "Please choose Rukar..he deserves it so much.." Catasothra has disconnected. >From the Sands, Rukar unwillingly is subject to seeing another candie flash him, and is all of a sudden glad he's sitting down. No one can see up my robe, nope! Hah! :0 >From the Sands, Lissette's eyes widen as she watches the antics of the bronze. She glances down at her /short/ robe. He'd better not try that here... >From the Sands, Gryphynn bites his lip a little and tries to smile, there aren't many left, but does he belong to one of them. He nods to Mishia, unable to speak with his heart in his throat, but he squeezes her hand. >From the Sands, Teron gasps as his eyes leave the Quill and Parchment Egg, turning back to the robe lifting bronze dragonet. "Wow....." he gasps softly, reaching for anyone in his vicinity. >From the Sands, The quill moves fluidly, obsidian ink scratching out the tome's yarn. Quill and Parchment Egg begins to splinter as tales of great wars and battles threaten to overcome the plain smoothness of its surface. Then with a great crack, the chronicle is complete as one story ends, and another...begins... >From the Sands, Valkyrie Maiden Flight Dragonet >From the Sands, Antique gold dusts lightly over proudly arched neck and eyeridges of verdant green, the resplendent motion at once powerful and full of grace. Blazing within whirling orbs, a flame that refuses to be doused, a mere glimmer of her inner strength. Forest green darkly shades firm chest that expands into limber, deceptively fragile ailerons. Puissant muscles are chiseled dark green and sinewy in form, draped in sheer emerald sisal of pure femininity. Hind limbs ripple with barely contained strength, pine awash with frothy cream, down her lithe tail that twitches oft in whip-like motion. >From the Sands, A'razi chuckles softly. "An individualist, that one." >From the Sands, Rukar gives in to the heat, and stands up. It is called standing, after all. His deep blue eyes wondering if that dragon is meant for him? >From the Sands, Saran gives Teron a sharp glance as the harper slack-jawed gaze...ah, egg is wobbling, should have known. A chuckle as bronze shows good taste in the need to inspect robes..."Aye, thatta boy." he approves, "Need to know yer riders taste, indeed." >From the Sands, Gryphynn nudges Mishia, "Look a green." He says as he notices the egg hatch. He looks towards the other candidates. He sees a brown impress to a young boy and waves to each of the others. Brekka smiles "A green!!! And so beautiful!" Vanetin gasps at the green, "Ooh, how regal she is.." >From the Sands, Valkyrie Maiden Flight Dragonet fights her way out of the fragile home she was once in. Shards fall in no particular order, as her wings spread out, body sucking heat drying out her wings. Head tilts, slightly, as she lets out a short bark of a croon. >From the Sands, Ailheen chuckles softly as she watches the bronze, then quickly turns her gaze to the green hatchling that just arrived. Sorsha nods, eyes riveted to the dragonets and Candidates, but still responding. "Hmm, lovely. " >From the Sands, Mishia swallows hard, looking at Gryphynn, then to the dragonets, then back. "I... Good luck, Gryph." She seems to be reduced to those words alone.. She's no harper after all. >From the Sands, Priscila looks up, down, all around. "They done? Can I go back to Fort now?" She has people to see and wine to drink. >From the Sands, Captive Unicorn Dragonet glances over his lean shoulder once more. Sure no one is following him? With another snort, he goes on his robe whuffling campaign, looking for the perfect one. /His/ one. And of course, daring nose is at it again. Too bad he's only looking for boys....a Keroon lass avoids him completely, having seen earlier robe trick. So, he tries a go at her neightbor....but the lad is not who he wants. He needs one who understands him as well as robes....perhaps if he angles more towards that small crowd? Cindanna's eyes fall on the newly-hatched green, fresh from the Quill and Parchment Egg. "That was Teron's favorite egg," she murmurs, voice cracking. Is this the one who'll steal...er...Impress Teron? >From the Sands, Teron forgets everything and continues to gape as the Quill and Parchment Egg opens up and lets the Valkyrie Maiden Flight Dragonet out. As the dragonet croons, he whispers another, "Wow." Hey look, a speechless Harper lad. >From the Sands, Gryphynn nudges her again, "I meant you silly," he says to Mishia and then looks to the bronze, "Look at that." he giggles. Tomias has connected. >From the Sands, Lissette begins to blink as yet another robe goes flying, her hands sliding down to the sides of her robe, holding garmet close to her side. How was /she/ to know there'd be a peeping dragonet on the sands? She glances over at Saran with a grimance. "Humph! /You/ don't have to worry if that one snorts up your robe!" >From the Sands, C'zar saunters onto the sands from the entrance. >From the Sands, Saran chuckles as he glances down to catch Lissette clutching her robe's hem..."Dinae worry." he offers, "He'll not sniff at ye..." too bad, dragonet has shown taste so far..."I don't?" he questions with more laughter..."How d'ye know?" >From the Sands, Mishia looks at Gryphynn, a bit blankly, then looks back out to the draconic wonders on the sands. >From the Sands, C'zar returns once again from his many trips back and forth from the hatching sands to the barracks. He peers over to where those that have impressed are gathered, is that his cousin??? >From the Sands, Rukar is reduced to just looking at the bronze making his way through the crowd, his throat so tight and clamped, he is unable to speak. >From the Sands, Valkyrie Maiden Flight Dragonet seems to be the lone female left within the bunch, and she wears it with pride. One step, and then another is taken, head tilting toward the many draconic parents that are around. Maw snaps, as if to cut imaginary apron strings as she moves away from the larger dragons toward those things in life. She's a big girl, able to take care of herself with these odd things. Onward! >From the Sands, Elisandra watches the bronze, and giggles softly. "Oh, he's a... charmer, isn't he." Too small for my tastes. "He's only just /hatched/, Zivath!" So? You're point being...? Elisa just rolls her eyes. "Dragons." Zivath snorts. Riders. >From the Sands, Rivka strokes Epionth's eyeridge slowly and soothingly, "I know you're hungry Epionth. Soon, soon I promise" Too enraptured to notice her cosuin stride onto the sands again. OOC: Kvelti wonders if anyone is logging? OOC: Vanetin isn't /lag/going... OOC: Tomias says "I was, then got booted by RL. :(" >From the Sands, Gryphynn giggles some more as he smiles at the bronze, "But oh, look at that green, isn't she just wonderful." OOC: Tenneba says "Not...didn't think of it. Sorry." OOC: Cindanna says "A member of SearchCO should be logging, methinks." OOC: Tomias says "I'm sure someone is." >From the Sands, Ailheen grins at the Bronze, trying to watch him and the Green at the same time. She shifts from foot to foot, watching and waiting. >From the Sands, Mishia looks at the green for a long moment, blinking several times, for why, it can't be said.. but not tears.. no, this guard's not gonna cry, atleast, not in public. "She is a gorgeous one, isn't she?" >From the Sands, Captive Unicorn Dragonet's wings attempt to fly him over, but all he does is a sort of hop-skip. Deceptively small body skids across sands, spraying grains over a few of the girls he missed with his snorting. Pity. Head angles up to golden queen and he rumblecroons with a rather charming litle sound. Yep. He's bronze. Finally, he ambles over to a trio of candidates. Female is ignored completely of course....no time for her. But the two males seem interesting.... Cheoah watches intently... >From the Sands, Teron looks at the green dragonet and gapes, before tugging on Saran's robe. "Look at her." he murmurs, before coming back to himself and seeing another candidate flash as the bronze searches. Hazel eyes look at the bronze, then at the green. Iona starts her good luck chant for Gryphynn again. >From the Sands, Rukar feels like stepping back as he sees the bronze hop-skip toward he and his friends. A hopefull glance is given to Mishia and Gryphynn as he proudly shows his robe to the bronze, wondering if he'll take a likin to it. >From the Sands, Gryphynn gasps, "Is he coming towards us?" he asks Rukar and Mishia. He breathes deeply as his heart pounds in his chest. Is this the one?" His dark eyes gaze over the magnificent one. Juliana leans over the rail, eyes on the green, and Mishia. Commenting to no one in particular, she notes, "Look, the green seems to be going for Misjh, is it>?" Juliana *miisjh/Mish >From the Sands, Lissette eeps softly as /that/ bronze comes near! She quickly hides behind Teron and Saran, never mind that he's ignoring her. She will /not/ take any chances. Flirt? Yes. Flasher? Absolutely not! Cindanna swallows against a suddenly desert-dry throat. "Good luck, Ter," she whispers hoarsely, making a great effort to breathe. In, out, in, out -- doesn't seem like she's doing too good of a job. >From the Sands, Mishia looks about them. "Could be..." She whispers hoarsely, the drying of her voice evident as the sand joins. Iona chants "Come on Gryphynn. Choose, Gryphynn!!" Brekka holds her breath intently >From the Sands, Tap, tap, tap. Is this thing on? "Just those few left?" Priscila almost sighs in relief. "Good. I gotta /go/." In more ways than one. Catasothra has connected. >From the Sands, Gryphynn looks over, "But what about the green. It is us or them? so hard to tell." he says, the harper being the spokesperson as he glances at the two with him who are almost speechless. >From the Sands, A'razi watches the voyueristic bronze amble towards Teron, Saran, and Lissette with vast amusement. In fact, he seems to be choking back hysterics by sheer force of will. Calia gasps and watches "Look he is heading towards Rukar! just maybe!" >From the Sands, Kalanthe has connected. >From the Sands, Ailheen hrms and watches the green and the Bronze, spotting the green, she lets out a soft uh-oh, not another one before grabbing the hem of her robe and holding it against her. Cheoah says, "Come on Rukar..you can do it.." >From the Sands, Saran chuckles as Lissette hides..."What is yer harper courage..." never mind that harpers are known for /music/...though his hands course down robe's length, just in case...not too tightly gripped indeed to marr the robe's fall, but... >From the Sands, Captive Unicorn Dragonet's nose sniffs long and hard on the first candidate, a harper lad, and one with rather interesing hazel eyes. Yet another snort and another robe geos flying. Nice legs! But nope. Not nice enough. His sister shows up, maybe she might find someone interesting here. But then, there's....something....head angles towards a flash of white in black hair...... Cheoah holds his breath.. >From the Sands, Mishia swallows and stands a bit straighter. Pride.. the only thing she may have left when all's stacked togehter and the shells swept away. I may be left behind, but I won't let it take my pride. "A guard never surrenders." She mutters to herself. >From the Sands, Teron realizes that he is now 'protecting' Lissette, and some kind of chivalric sense kicks in and he moves to stand /next/ to Saran, and he forms a little wall with the Weaver, "She's a girl." he whispers to Saran, as if that would explain everything. Hope Cinda isn't watching. Sorsha turns her head, following the course of the bronze. Murmering softly to Brekka, "I think the bronze is going for Teron!" >From the Sands, A'razi hmmms softly. /Very/ nice legs indeed. The rider makes a note to keep an eye on the lad. Brekka nods and watches intently >From the Sands, Gryphynn watches the hatchling, but it looks like they went to the other group. He fights back what wants to happen and bites his lip as he crosses his fingers, "Maybe they will come this way." >From the Sands, Valkyrie Maiden Flight Dragonet is only a step behind, watching those legs. Is there a warrior legs under there? *WOOOOSH*!! That causes a squeal of suprise as a miner lad is shown to the world. Nope. That was definately not what she's looking for. Snort. Only she goes, moving away from her dallying brother, and blowing up robes in earnest. >From the Sands, Sabria hides a smile behind her hand, laughing behind it. Must be a Zivath spawn, surely. >From the Sands, Lissette blinks and glances down as now a /green/ comes their way too. "Shells! Is it my perfume?" she asks aloud, wondering at the sudden attention from two different directions. Fingers continue to hold down robe. It's a bronze! Can't trust 'em! >From the Sands, C'zar chuckles at the dragonets, knowing they will choose well. He moves towards a large group of weyrlings with their hungry dragonets, "Please follow me, let's get your lifemates fed." >From the Sands, Rukar is just watching the bronze, feeling like slumping over, seeing the bronze playing with others. >From the Sands, C'zar leaves to the Barracks. >From the Sands, Rivka leaves to the Barracks. >From the Sands, Epionth leaves to the Barracks. >From the Sands, Elisandra grins and would be sure of it. There's nothing like a Zivath spawn... of course, could be a descendant of a Zivath spawn. There's a scary thought. >From the Sands, Ailheen grins at both of the dragons, making sure to keep her hands on her robe to hold it down. No dragon is gonna lift up her robe, nope. >From the Sands, Mishia looks at Gryphynn. "I don't surrender.. I should be ashamed of myself for my behaviour." She says softly as she stands at her full, if not imposing height. Vanetin tries to not stare to intently at the antics of the two littel dragons; "Just what do they think they'll find under there?" >From the Sands, Sirikith surreptiously touches tail to one of the remaining eggs that's near her. Hers? The touch is uncertain, and she skitters away again to dragno-mutter at Kalanthe. >From the Sands, Priscila doesn't care so much anymore. If her robe gets lifted, her robe gets lifted. If she flashes everyone else, she flashes everyone else. And if she can't hold it, well... that's a different story entirely. >From the Sands, Gryphynn nods, "I won't either," he stutters. Sapphira materializes out of thin air. >From the Sands, Three blues hatch in quick succession from among the last of the eggs. *Pop!* *Pop!* *Pop!* And those three rotund lads? They all impress. "Oh Larryth! Oh Curlyth! Oh Moeth!" Charming, it is. >From the Sands, C'zar saunters onto the sands from the entrance. >From the Sands, Valkyrie Maiden Flight Dragonet seems just not to be finding what she's looking for. A few whooshes abound, squeals following as the green weaves her way throughout the candidates. Who will she take to beyond this life to the next? Certaintly not one lad, as she sticks her muzzle up his robe, coming out with an expression that can only signal a grimace. No comment. Wait... what's that? What's that movement over there... and what's that in front of it? >From the Sands, Mishia stands at full attention, her gaze firm, and her eyes drying, the sight like that of a hawk. "Well, Captain, I may be on my way." She mutters to herself. "But not without a shot." Brekka giggles at the two dragonets antics and watches intently Iona laughs "These two seem to be real characters. Ohhh, please choose Gryphynn!" >From the Sands, Gryphynn watches the two hatchlings, is the green heading this way. He squeezes Mishia's hand while still looking with hope at the hatchlings. Cindanna breathes deeply, looking like she's near hyperventilation. Her mouth moves, but nothing comes out as she keeps her eyes on Teron and the milling dragonets. >From the Sands, Lissette grimaces as green appears to be doing the "Simon Sez" deal with her brother. "Oh shells! I just wanted to look good," she mutters, tugging down on robe hem. >From the Sands, Ailheen watches the Bronze before turning to the Green, shuffling her feet a bit. She still holds her robe down, just not as tightly. >From the Sands, Rukar pulls gently at his tight-chested robe, not wanting to attract attention from the robe-whoofing dragons. >From the Sands, Teron giggles slightly as he watching the green and bronze dragonets blow up robes. A small grin is grinned as he watches the green grimaces, still standing firm in front of Lissette, "Don't worry, they'll not put you on display." >From the Sands, Gryphynn watches both of the hatchlings, willing to let them blow up his robe if it means a chance at impressing. >From the Sands, Valkyrie Maiden Flight Dragonet doesn't hop. She's too tomboyish for that. Well, maybe, but still, there's a little skip in her movement as she reaches two things in white, one cowering behind the other. That's what it is. She looks behind the first, trying to get a good peek at the one holding down her robe. Hey... this is standard proceedure... *WOOOOOSH*! >From the Sands, Saran laughes suddenly at Lissette's mumbling, a glance down as he agrees, "But ye do..." eyelid lowers in a wink as he continues to tease, "And most appreciate it." eyes dart to catch her grimace before going back to watch the show these two sibs are putting on for everyone's benefit..."I think they're enjoying themselves...and showing good taste for all that." how one wears clothing is /very/ important...and how one reacts to the unexpected is even more important. >From the Sands, Lissette does /not/ want to flash half of Pern and so she tries to stay behind Teron. "Thank you," she mutters to fellow harper. But green is too quick and suddenly, Lis is showing alot more leg than she intended. "HEY! Cut that out!" she actually shouts at the green, totally embarassed for the first time since stepping out on the sands. Brekka giggles at the greens Antics harder >From the Sands, A'razi looses what control he had, leaning against something to laugh long and hard. Oh, sorry Zivath! He watches Teron some more, hoping that his robe flies up again, too. Iona starts to chuckle. "This is too funny." Kvelti has disconnected. >From the Sands, Sabria has disconnected. >From the Sands, Mishia shakes her head. If the Lady wants some body, This guard's compact, but built well, if that's what she needs. >From the Sands, Tam giggles, then all out laughs at the display of the two dragonets. >From the Sands, Captive Unicorn Dragonet no longer cares who was following him. He's rather more interested in a pair of /finer/ legs. This time, his entire /head/ pokes beneath robe....never mind his fingers grasping at its edges, as snort tickles chest hairs of Saran from underneath robe and billows white fabric to balloon proportions. Okay! I'm done! >From the Sands, Sabria has connected. Vanetin giggles, "Dragon see, dragon do. >From the Sands, Teron stands still as the green dragonet cranes around his legs to whuffle Lissette's robe. A slow blush creeps over his face as he realizes that he has failed Lissette. Still he stands firm and tries to stop the green from doing it /again/. Tomias grins widely . "Yes!" >From the Sands, Gryphynn watches the hatchlings and kind of gets it into his head that they aren't coming anywhere close him, Mishia, and Rukar. He bites his lip and looks down at the ground, knowing there aren't any more. Brekka grins and keeps her fingers crossed watching the bronze and Saran Cindanna really wishes she could laugh at this, really. But she can't bring herself to do it as she sighs. They're so close to Teron.../her/ Teron. Perhaps on of them is his? Kvelti has connected. >From the Sands, Zivath gazes regally down at A'razi, and warbles conversationally. Not a problem for a clutchmate. Just don't sneeze on the hide. Just had it oiled. >From the Sands, Saran jumps back, pushing robe's hem down as dragon breath is /not/ cooling..."Daergith!" he yelps...part affection...part exasperation at dragon's antics... Iona chuckles still "Looks like Saran is the one for him." Brekka jumps up and yells "Whhhooooooo hoooooo congrats Saran!!!!!" >From the Sands, C'zar blinks, oh what a handsome bronze. "Saran!". Hands come together as he claps in congratulations. Calia yells "Congrats Saran!!!!" >From the Sands, Lissette smacks the harper lad on the shoulder. "Some protection!" But irritation turns to astonishment at Saran's impression. "By Faranth! Saran??" >From the Sands, Rukar grins, "Congrats, Saran." >From the Sands, Teron turns his head and blinks, smiling happily for his Weaver friend, "Saran! Daergith? Wonderful!" he loses his blush in his smile. Juliana grins, standing to cheer for Saran. "Congrats Saran!" Then her eyes dart back to the green, hoping desprately that it will be Mishia who she chooses. >From the Sands, Ailheen giggles softly as she calls out a congrats to Saran. She turns her attention to the green, waiting to see who she chooses. Tenneba claps for Saran. "A lovely pair, don't you think?" >From the Sands, Gryphynn looks up, "Congrats." he says faintly. He means it all right but there is disappointment in his voice. >From the Sands, Muireann chuckles at the bronze's antics, cupping her hands to call across the sands: "Congratulations, Saran!" Great Faranth. Voyeuristic dragonets. She doesn't envy C'zar his job one whit. Brekka nods and grins "yup!" she is so excited for Saran she is bouncing. "Wait till Jessic hears!" >From the Sands, Tam laughs and whoops a bit from her position by Timoth. "Saran!! Oh congratulations!" she shouts, thrilled that the weaver impressed, even though the bronze in question was rather....ummm, forward? ;-) >From the Sands, Valkyrie Maiden Flight Dragonet seems to hear that squeal. Not good, perhaps her protector. /He/ is standing in the way. /He/ does not seem to mind the blowing up of robes. And there is no need for her to do that to Teron. Instead, tail whiplashes around the lad, as she leads him from his protectee. Valhalla, here we come! >From the Sands, Mishia shakes her head, then comes to full attention, preparing herself to quit the field. She stands as high as she can, and snaps a perfect salute to the dragons, then to the Riders, both present and now to be. She then pulls a perfect about face, and prepares to, as the harpers might say, Exit, stage rear. >From the Sands, Rukar's eyes, allthough starting to blur from tears froming in his eyes, watch the green Impress Teron. >From the Sands, Lissette feels a bit left out. Two at once in her vicinity? But she /is/ happy for both Saran and Teron, if a bit saddened herself. "Congratualtions, Teron," she murmurs with a smile, grateful the ordeal is finally over. >From the Sands, "Alright, show's over, comin' through, move on out." Pris has to go, /now/. You overhear Tomias whisper"... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... :(" to Cindanna. >From the Sands, Teron starts to stagger, then realizes that he can't, not with the dragonet's tail wrapped firmly around his legs. His hands go up to the green's head and he beams happily as tears start to stream down his face, "Kyrith? Oh, Kyrith!" Tharnis materializes out of thin air. >From the Sands, Ailheen lets out a small sigh but manages to smile
at Teron, "Congrats!" She calls.
