Gah! Fully frustrated. My back decided not to peel, which is a good thing because it means I didn't get that bad of a sunburn. The downside to not peeling? It itches. Like hives. And of course, I can't actually do anything to stop it from itching. Oh well. In knitting news, I thought I'd solved the twisted stitch problem, but apparently not. Last night I was working on my sweater sampler.... I did the fancy cast on, garter stitch, stockinette stitch, 1x1 ribbing, all just fine. When I started the twisted rib I decided that it was icky and moved on to the 2x2 ribbing.... which is where I notice something was wrong. I peaked down inside my little sampler and gah! There was a perfect twisted ribbing on the inside... all the way down at the 1x1 ribbing.... That means that all my purls were twisted. I checked all the way back, and sure enough they were twisted all the way through. I tried to figure out how to untwist things, but ended up having to slip my purl stitches back and forth before purling... NOT fun at all. Plus, so much of the sampler was already twisted. So, at 3:31 a.m. I got really mad and pulled the whole damn thing out. I'm completely ready to give up on knitting because it does not work like it's supposed to. Grr. Frustration never-ending. Oh, and I can't believe I frogged so much work. Eep. Oh, and I managed to break of a piece of yarn by sheer brute strength. Acrylic is difficult to break like that. I must have been really upset. Only other news is a wedding in Marshalltown this weekend. And Mom doesn't know about my red hair. I wonder what she's gunna say. Oh well. Yummy food for Dad on Sunday too. That's all. |
