La Crosse, Wisconsin

So, if you're reading this, you probably already know that I'm moving off to Wisconsin. Dan got a job in La Crosse, with Chart Heat Exchangers. It's a good job, and Dan's very excited about it. Everything has happened so quickly that we are still planning.

Next week, either Tuesday night or early Wenesday, we'll drive up and begin to look for a new place to live. We haven't really sorted out what to do with this place yet. Hopefully our landlord will be understanding and we won't have any trouble subleasing. If all goes well, Dan should be starting the new job by September 15th.

Well, I'm very happy. I think that Dan getting that job was an excellent birthday present. Plus, it looks like I might be able to get archaeology work, or at least some opportunities to volunteer.

Of course, I'm sad about loosing (or moving away from) some of our friends. Who will we play Uno with now? Guess we'll have to make new friends. Or perhaps pack the old ones in large cardboard boxes and stick them in the back of the U-haul. Hmm, I feel kinda evil. :) We will be looking for a two bedroom apartment/house, so we should be able put guests up. Here that guys, you will come and visit.

Hmm.... School has started again. The other night I drempt that I was a grad student and busy taking classes. I was very happy. Then, I woke up. I'm not sad, just a little disappointed. School can be fun... however, it depends heavily on the teacher. Well, maybe I'll take some classes at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. Maybe I'll wake up in a few days and realize that school really did suck. Who knows.

Really, the only other news to come about so far is the newest update to my computer. Today we went to Des Moines and got OS X for my G4. I've been waiting for the upgrade for a while and Dan was very excited to play with it. It's different then what I'm used to, but I like it. It'll just take some getting used too. So now I can use iChat to talk to people, if anyone wants to talk to me. :)
