Welcome to the village of the insane...

Little in the way of change for you, much change to the website for me. I decided that having a hundred documents in a single list was driving me insane, so I implemented subdirectories. Folders within folders.... what a novel concept.

For those of you that don't know (and I don't know who those would be because those that I know read this would already know).... I am in Iowa right now. Fun stuff. We came down for Sheri's christmas party. Lunch in Ames was good and fun. And the party was fun too. I got to meet some new people, and better yet, got to see all the ones I miss. And I successfully avoided the mistletoe and managed to not get kissed by any girls or guys that I did not want kissing me.

Wisconsin is fun, but it'd be even more fun if everybody moved up there with us. I did meet some new people at Dan's work Christmas party, and they seem fun, but not as much fun as you guys. So look for jobs near us. Ok?

What else? I have not been updating because I have been working on the project for grandpa for Christmas. At this rate, I won't get it done, so I actually have to work on it even more then I have been. (When it's done, I'll take a picture and put it up.) And Christmas is only 11 days away! Oh dear. I still don't know what to get my husband for a present.

Unfortunatly, I have been rather tired and grumpy as of late. Haven't been sleeping very well, so I am going to take sleeping pills for the next few days in an attempt to get me to sleep through the night. Last night was hard... went to bed around two, woke up around six thirty. Managed to fall back asleep for a little while, but woke up again a couple hours later. Even when I do fall asleep, I don't stay asleep.... I wake up every couple hours. Even the night before, when I took half a dose of the sleeping stuff, I was constantly waking up. I think I understand what's going on, but I think that's for later.

At any rate, it's been pretty good the past few days. I'd rather get to see my friends for a day and be very tired then well rested and lonely in La Crosse. A little later today we'll run by my parents house, then head back north. I'm sad about that. I want to stay and play with my friends.

As for the rest of this year, and the beginning of 2004... Dan and I are having Christmas ourselves... just us two. That will be nice. And Dan is going to take a day off, and we're going to drive down on the 31st (I think). We can do New Year's and then Dan & I can spend some time with my family too. I am bringing that frozen turkey.

Much more to say... but not really content for this website. My head is kind of spinning after yesterday, and it will be kind of nice to go home and get to sort through things. Now I suggest that you forget reading this and read it through a few times because it will probably be the last update for another week or so.

So much for getting things done yesterday. Got a late start off from Ankeny, and then stopped in Marshalltown, and spent a little too much time there. Drove home on the highways through... managed to avoid the state of Minnesota all together. Just a note... if you're crossing the Mississippi at Lansing, the bridge is very frightening in the dark. Just one of many things in this area to be done during the day first.

This was the first trip we've taken since we moved up to La Crosse, and it's good to know that it really does feel like home now. Not intending on going anywhere else anytime soon. (Except for the new year's thing, but that doesn't count 'cause it's only for a weekend.) Once again I feel the need to extend the invitation to any of you to come up and stay with us for a few days. (And we even have the spare bed with clean sheets and lots of blankets.)

I think that this is enough rambling for yesterday and today. Hmm? Ok. Time to go.
