1.Quest for Glory series from Sierra

The Series starts in Quest for Glory 1 -"So you want to be a hero?" in which you wish to become a hero and go to rescue the land of Spielburg from a curse that the evil witch Baba Yaga had cast upon Baron Von Spielburg. After proving yourself a hero you fly with Shema and Shameen - The Katta Inn Keepers and Abdula Doo, a merchant on a magic carpet to help the Kattas with their problems in Quest for Glory 2 - "Trail by Fire", where you fight the five elements and kills Ad Avis, the evil magic user. From there you go with your liontaur friend Rakeesh you met in Shapeir and Uhura the Simbani Warior Woman to the land of Tarna in Quest for Glory 3 -"Wages of War" to help bring peace between the Simbani and The Leopard men, after a long time of working you found out it's not a simple peace mission as you thought it would be, against Demons from another world. As you kill the Demons with the help of your friends (and there are more different kinds of people there than in a comercial of United Colors of Beneton ;-} ) you found yourself being swept away straight into the next game in the series Quest for Glory 4 -"Shadows of Darkness" where you found yourself in a haunted valley as you found your way through the valley you uncover truths that maybe should have remained closed but as you continue you found out the truth about Mordavia - The Dark Vally. As you help the people in the City of Mordavia to get over their old hates and pains, you found yourself in a huge battle between two titanic forces. (BTW one of them was the famous magic user Erana.) As you help to defeat the Dark One, the people of the valley are making a party to you and as the moon is high and whiskies are dry you are being carried away to your next heroism mission in Silmaria which suppose to come out in fall 1997. 2.Gabriel Knight Series from sierra

Sierra has made some really great quests and games in its time but one of the greatest series is The Gabriel Knight Series .The story begins with Gabriel Knight - a simple rare books shop owner in New Orleans.
Gabriel investigates murders called the voodoo murders to write a book about, he is using the help of his secretey - Grace and his childhood friend who became a cop - Detective Mosely.
During his investigations Gabriel finds many things about himself, his family, his city and his life. In less then two weeks Gabriel's life are turned upside down. While playing as Gabriel you'll feel that every door you open will get some other door to close maybe it's because you're not looking for one criminal but a group...

In the sequel, Gabriel moves to his uncle's castle after Wolfgang dies while getting the family talisman in the first game. Gabriel is called to serve his country again, well not exactly his country this time, after all his uncle's castle is in Germany, Rittersberg. Gabriel is part of the noble aristocrat family named the Ritters.this time he investigates a murder that suspect to have been done by wolves. The locals are asking for his help as a Schattenjager. Soon Gabriel finds out it's more then just a simple wolf murder....

3.Civilization Series from Microprose

Civilization is one of the greatest startegy games ever, the series holds so many insights on own nations and civilizations that we truely get a change to play kings and presidents. I find the game series to bring the player profound knowladge and understanding on a level that is not too complicated.

4. The Xcom Series From Microprose

X-com is short for Extraterrestrial Combat unit. This organisation was created by the world's countries in order to fight the alien threat.
The first game in the series - "UFO: Enemy Unknown" invites the player to meet Xcom and its fight against the aliens from mars. The game offers a unique combination of world wide strategy, self development of the organisation and a special platform for the Xcom Soldiers Vs. Aliens battle.

After the aliens on Mars have failed to conquer Earth. Xcom organization finds that the Aliens haven't taken over Earth but have colonized it. In Xcom - Terror From the Deep, Xcom is once again in action to destroy the Alien threat.

The third game ("Xcom Apocalypse") begins after the wars Xcom fought against the alien invaders. The world has paid dearly for these battles. Earth was polluted and almost uninhabited. The population gathered in a defensive cape and colonized there, the city was called Mega Primus (very similar to the background for Judge Dredd). The city was blossoming untill one day a dimension gate was open and suprise! the aliens are back. Xcom 3 is nothing like the other games, the graphics is unbelievable, the game is really really good and the real time gets the game to a whole new level but, with this the level of difficulty has gone higher too, but it's worth it anyway.

5. Ultima Series From Origin

Another great series of quests is the Ultima series created by Origin.
The avatar (the player) is a powerfull being sent to a set of adventures in order to save the kingdom Britania from an evil god called "The Gaurdian". In Ultima 8 The Guardian banishes the avatar to a world called Pagan in which he has to learn the four elements of magic so he can return to Britania. While he learns the ways of magic the Avatar helps the people in Pagan. This game has high quality of 3D graphics campared to the time the game was created. It presents a beautiful set of characters and an intriguing fantasy world.
Something special about this series is the two special games called Ultima Underworld. It's a set of two quests created in a first person point of view platform. In These games the player also plays as the Avatar. In the first game the player gets to Britnia just in time to see the daughter of the king being kidnapped. He is accused in helping kidnap her and is forced to look for her in the Abyss and bring her back to show his innocence. The Second game is kind of a reunion. The Avatar and all of his friends from all his journeys are meeting in Britania in Lord British' palace, after an all night feast the avatar and his friends find themsleves trapped within the palace by a blackstone cape.So once again all hopes go for the avatar to go and save the people of the palace. The player goes down to the lower floors of the palace and find a teleporter to other worlds and then the real quest begins...

6. Master of Orion 2 From Microprose

It's a strategy game in which you, leader of an inteligent race from somewhere in space build your empire by building bases on stars. Within the universe there are three utopian stars gaurded by space monsters the biggest one is Orion, you kill the monster and the star is yours. there is one race that threats the building of your empire accept the regular ones which called the Antaranes. The Antarans are from another dimension and they come and attack the race of this universe whenever they feel like. The two ways to success in Orion 2 is to destroy the Antarans or destroy all other races living in the univerese. The game is really really good, great graphics and you will probably play it millions of times because you can be so many races and so many level of difficalty.
