love

This piece is inspired by the dream of what could be. For all of that, there are many, like the two pictured above who are living proof that it can and does exist. I have known it in my life as well and so I will never settle for anything but that which is "real" in every way. And after all these years... well, you'd think I'd stop waiting and hoping and dreaming of the day when my knight in shining armor rescues this distressed Lady; quite the contrary, I am still, ever and always the hopeful romantic. And, hence, I am oft' times the saddest creature of all. But, only sometimes.
For somewhere there is one, like me, who means what he says, honestly and without conditions. I shall wait here for him if it takes the rest of my life. ~~JA 10/03/2000

Comfort
(A Healing)
by J. Artemis ©Dec. 1999

My needs are simple,
The pleasure of ease,
To lay in your arms,
Just that easy to please.

To smell you near,
Caressing my face,
Just to linger forever
In that magicikal place.

The haunting, forgotten
The sadness aside
As I rest here in comfort
In gladness abide.

So complex in the wanting
What we think we need
Just to find all we needed
Was true comfort, indeed.

Dedicated to the lovely young couple above, inspired by a magickal man who loved me well, a true Knight in every way. Goddess Bless you, always.

Spirits Of Flesh
By J.Artemis 10/30/97

Cloaked in black, upon the sand,
Two figures walking hand in hand
Beneath the midnight starlit sky
To watch the sea spill on the land.

Relaxed with gentle breeze’s song,
With naught to hurry them along
As the tide doth kiss their feet
A welcome, here, where they belong.

The Lady turns to point aloft,
A shooting star to them is tossed;
She turns again to him; the kiss,
Before the magick can be lost.

He laughs a gentle, throaty laugh
Then lifts her from the grainy path,
Bright smile beaming, another kiss,
Swings her ‘round, undoes her sash.

In Her eyes, that mischievous glow,
That he has lately come to know;
But, in words must surely mean,
“Come hither sweet, and make me whole.”

Sweet embrace and longest kiss
A gasping caused by each caress,
Desire so rich, mingling fire
With coursing blood of heated bliss.

Heart to heart, flesh on flesh,
Their souls entangled, ethereal mesh
Binding spirits, two as one
The spirit has re-made the flesh.

Within this wondrous space in time
The world has become more sublime
And in this moment time is still
Whilst they live the muse’s rhyme.

And there they lay, still, ‘pon the sands
The King and Queen of shadowed lands
Content in glory seldom found
The Witch and Wizard, holding hands.

It seems the attached missive was found on a shadowed beach, as though it had been penned long ago by a lover to his lady fair, two passion-filled souls who trysted there by the Moon's eldritch light. Their names, legend has it, were Lady Jolene, and Lord Jordan Avon.
