The Thirteenth Award has been Won, it is one. I will be adding other poetry awards at a later time, meanwhile you can apply for the Award Of Excellence. Number 13 was Awarded to Eagle Soul who has more than met the criteria, and he did not apply, he was discovered.

Rather than go into a large discussion on what it takes to win the poetry award, Award of Eloquence, let me show you with the following example. I will leave the broken link here in case Scully returns to it or until I find whence Scully AKA, Furious D. has gone...Skully, come back! FuriousD is the very first to win this award. If you think you can write this well, please feel free to apply for the excellence award: for that one needs to have a page that boots fast and clean, links that work, attention to detail (yes, even spelling counts. It need not be flashy with "flash" or JAVA or even to trying applets that make a page slow and cumbersome to people who are still using dial up. Just straight, clean code, a modicum of taste and inforative-ness and good presentation. Artworks are not judged in and of themselves, but their relative placement and how well they come up without an eternity of waiting can make all the difference in the world. Good luck! *evil grin*

Alex's Lament (From My Book 'Looking For Death..Alex')
This Mortal man did wonder,
And this Mortal man did find
The Fantasy he'd been searching for,
Within his Mortal Mind
And now he is a Master,
The Victims soon shall see'
That the Shadow bearing down on them,
Is the Darker side of 'Me'
Yes my name is Darkness,
And a Vampire is my Form
But I feel for those I feed upon,
Bring them Sleep, keep them Warm
And when I was a Mortal man,
No Feelings taunted me,
But now I am a Vampire,
Those feelings are set free
I'd killed before my Making,
And smiled upon the Corpse
Now I lay them gently down,
And suffer from Remorse
But if I could have the choice again
To be a Mortal Man,
I'd decline the Invitation
And stay just how I am.

If the above example is not clear enough to illustrate what you need to win this award, then ask yourself the follwing:
1) does your poem make its point well?
2) is it well written? (this is not only expected, but required)
3) *most impotant* does it reach down deep into the very soul of the reader?

This award is not for the timid. I DO allow free verse as well as traditional, but, as all writers know, free verse has to be better than traditional to be clear. However, I do not award anyone for a long run-on sentence nor sentence fragments that have nowhere to go but hang lonely in empty space with little real meaning. They are nothing more than disconnected thoughts that anyone can expess, life is easy in small bytes; poetry is NOT. So, with that said, try and win this award if you wish. I love good poerty and look forward to reading yours!

WebExcellence

The Award Of Website Excellence requires, good design, original presentation and layout, quality graphics, either your own or work that is used with permission and full credit given to those designers. I am very fond of fiction and poetry but am also a great lover of unusual perspectives regarding religion. I am not into nor fond of satanistic views and will not award such site nor will I award any anti-religion sites. I will also not award sites that are slow to load, have broken links or sites that are merely band/fan trivia sites, or sites that are just "this is all about me" those, in my opinion, are a waste of web space. Websites should be entertaining, informative, thought provoking or all of these elements at the same time. If you think your site is worthy, then by all means, apply now!!! I look forward to seeing it!!
