NEW ARMY UNITS - Halfing Troops

A: Quintain Skirmishers (Levy)

These troops are the Hafling equivalent of the Levy and follow the same rules as normal levies. They wear no armour and use spears and short bow. They are rarely used as most halflings are very peaceful and do not wish to participate in battle.

 

B: Quintain Watchers (Archers)

2 HITS: Melee 0, Misille 2

Small and unimposing. halfling Watchers use short bows and nimble hands to make short work of their enemies. Able to move through most terrain quickly (sometimes by passing through the Shadow World), they can get lost on the battlefield, only to resurface at the most devastating time.

 

C: Quintain Guardians (Infantry)

2 HITS: Melee 1, Missile 0

Only the most burly halflings join the Guardians. Armed primary with spears and short swords, they count on quickness to win over strenght. Setting spears against oncoming charges is the halfling Guardians' favorite tactic.

 

D: Quintain Monitors (Scout)

2 HITS: Melee 0, Missile 1

Rarely used as a military unit, the Monitors are adept at moving throught the Shadow World and gathering information about enemy positions. While they are separated they may be used as 10 groups of monitors that can spy throught the Shadow World and report back without having been ever seen. While they can fight as a single unit, it take 1 action (a month) for they to reassemble into a military unit. The DM may wish to make the period longer if the Monitors are very dispersed.

 

E: Quintain Wolf Riders (Cavalry)

Defence: 2 Missle: 3
Morale: X O Charge: 5
1 HIT: Melee 1, Charge 3

This unit is very similar to the Goblin units which is has derived from. The Wolf Riders have an excellent movement rate, but little in the way of defense. They are mainly used to attack then withdraw and quickly fall the the better protected units in battle. The Wolf Riders are unarmoured and carry a spear, and short bow.
