In the anthills of southern Africa, live the shiest of all the
creatures who take forms akin to humans. They are the Abatwa,
perfectly miniaturized versions of human tribesmen, who live peaceably
with the ants, and hide from all other creatures. They are only ever
sighted by very young children, magic wielders, and pregnant women. A
legend tells that a woman in the seventh month of pregnancy who sights
an Abatwa male, will give birth to a boy.
