I bought a book on Gnomes in the 1980’s. There was a book on Giants and a book on FAERIES, but I got the book on Gnomes. Last year, on this day in fact, I happened upon the book on Faeries and bought it. It is a very interesting book since I am planning my second trip to Cornwall next year (Solar Eclipse) and much of the book is about stories that region. Obsessed, all I could do was read this book. Working from home meant the work was going undone, so I put the book away and got on with it.

A month ago, with the backlog cleared, I went to recover the book, but were was the book? I had put it in such a safe place that I had forgotten where it was. A search turned up some old unpaid bills and a beta video tape but no book. With the day rapidly approaching when I had had the book for one year, (it's anniversary if you like) and no sighting of it, came the resignation that I would not see it for a long time. Days turned to weeks as I returned to the work almost as behind as last July. On the nineteenth day of April in the year 1998, one day short of a year had bought it, and in true Faerie tradition the book reappeared. It was under something as usual.

This time I'll be studying it more carefully, or maybe chain it to the wall, least it want to repeat the operation and constantly diss- and then reappear on this day.

All of this is enough proof for me. They do exist. 1
